Hey, my friends, Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach, coming to you with a little version of Freedom Friday focus about a gift. Well, lovely Christy and I are back from our amazing vacation. We had three weeks in South America, Central America, Mexico, and talk about a perspective shift. So I'm coming to you live from my Colorado home today. And regardless of your belief system, whether you celebrate Christmas or not, that's not what we're here today to talk about. What I want to talk to you about today is giving yourself maybe the biggest gift that you can give yourself. So earlier this week, I ran our Titanium Mastermind coaching group column. We're talking about free time and we're talking about influence and we're talking about dedication, we're talking about commitment and all these things. And we live in a world now that they kind of get intertwined and they kind of get intermixed. And you go back to the studies of, you know, there was a paper written in the 30s about how we're going to have 15 hour work weeks in the 21st century. And the biggest challenge we will have is what to do with all of our free time and abundance. Now, true stuff, I won't get into all the stats and the figures and all those types of things here, but what I'm here to challenge you for is what do you do for true free time? True free time. Now let's qualify this, right? I say true free time because my mentor Dan Sullivan taught me the concept of true free days. And we share that in our, in our coaching groups and try to get people to take 24 hours midnight to midnight. No business reading, no business conversation. Very challenging for the lovely Christy and I to do, right? We work. I love what I do. But you don't realize how much your thoughts are consumed by what you do for a living. Now here's my challenge to you. You've got kind of a free pass regardless of your beliefs. Coming up Monday, you probably, if you're not on call, if you're not totally connected and challenge yourself because you might think you're totally connected, you don't have to be. But Monday, nobody's really going to expect anything from you. What if you took a digital disconnect day? What if what the lovely Christy's shooting this video with didn't even get turned on on Monday? You know what the biggest challenge is? The world's gonna be fine. You could tell your kids about an alternative plan. So don't check out going, oh, you don't understand, Kenny. You don't have kids. You build a plan, people can always get a hold of you. But here's the challenge. You like being connected. Now you have a habit of being connected. So when you leave the country. And so, you know, unfortunately, they gave us this. Well, not unfortunately, but they hooked us up with this, like, unlimited Internet plan that the lovely and Christy and I hopped on periodically. But we, you know, a lot of people are on their phones all the time on this amazing ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and they're doing this. So let me ask you this. When's the last time you said, I'm going to run down to the coffee shop and I'm going to read for an hour and I'm going to take free time, I'm going to take some me time for an hour. And you get to the coffee shop and you get your favorite latte and you sit down with your book and you're starting to read and you're starting to get engulfed and you're starting to enjoy yourself and your endorphins are kicking off and all of a sudden, buzz, buzz. And you grab that device. Oh, Facebook notification. Let me see what's going on. Hmm. Oh. Boom, boom, Boom, boom, boom. 20 minutes later. Oh, maybe I should check my email while I'm here. I'm speaking truth because I've been there, done that. I get it. My responsibility is to help create a shift in you. Create interrupt a pattern and say, you know what? You can live without your phone. People will exist in the world without you. You're not that important. That's my responsibility to help you understand. Because when you get that and you start understanding that, you create real space for your mind to really grow and absorb and at what's really important and what matters most. Your game changes. And that's what I want to have for you. Give it a shot. Give it a test. My friends report back to me and tell me how it didn't make you feel better. I want you to give yourself a gift. You'll get a lot of gifts. Probably some are worth it, some aren't. This one means everything to your best 18 ever. I'm Kenny Chapman, the blue collar coach. Until we talk, my friends have a better than fantastic disconnect day.
