Hey, my friends, Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach, coming to you with a little Freedom Friday Focus today. So check it out. Today I want to talk about energy. It's been a huge week, a huge month, huge technology challenges going on here. And so here's what I want you to think about when we look at energy, right? When's the last time you woke up, fired up, couldn't sleep because you're so excited about something? When's the last time you thought about how you transfer energy in your company, how you lead leaders, how you lead your team, how you train and teach Frontline, how your energy shows up or doesn't show up in the company? You know, as a leader, that people are watching everything and everything that you do and everything that you don't do, right? So here's one thing I want you to think about today. I was recently doing some studying about human behavior and energy and what it means to people, because I'm always looking for leadership strategies, different things. And you go way back. And there's a psychologist named Henry Goddard that made a. He did a study with children way back. He created this thing called the ergograph, right? The Ergograph was designed kind of like people like me worry about the lie detector test back in the day, right? So now this is the ergograph, where you can't hide it, you can't stop it, it's going to happen, whatever, right? And took tired children. You know what tired children are like, right? When they get fussy and they're burned out and they're tired and this and that. And he would hook them up to this machine and he would have something appreciative to them, give them some positive thoughts, tell them that they did something well, you know, give them some positive feedback and energy in their life. And what was interesting is what happened to the needle. It moved like rapidly, quickly from tired to all of a sudden a positive thing. And then they took it and they did it very interestingly the opposite way, right? And you think about children and energy. And I'm here walking in the park today, and we got. We got these kids on this horse here and all this kind of thing, right? So there's energy going on there. But when you think about the better part of the study, to me, or the more maybe alarming part of the study is this, that they also hooked up the same set of kids and then said something negative or derogatory or called them out or whatever, and watch that energy just plummet. Now, as a leader, as a thought Leader, as somebody in, you know, leading organizations, leading companies, making an influence and a difference in people's lives, you must think about your own energy and how can you transfer it if you don't have it yourself? So where's your own passion? When you think about passion, when you think about your life, when you think about the business that, by the way, you probably are leading and making the decisions that create the reality. And some people struggle and some people thrive. And guess what? It has to do with the decisions that you make and the limiting beliefs in your mind. And when you think about the energy and you think about what you say to people can change the course of their day, change the course of their life. I had one of the best calls I've ever had last night, which, with a technician I trained in Seattle on Wednesday that called me. And, you know, I get a call from a, you know, I'm a business guy, right? I get a call from a student like, hey, maybe there's an opportunity. Maybe it's a service manager, maybe it's an owner. It's a technician that wants to just once again, thank me personally for changing his life. Because he took the tools that I shared, he took the strategies that we worked with, and he reset himself and he changed his energy. So what happened? I. I dug deep that day and I had a lot of energy. I transferred in that room, and he took that and moved it forward. And each and every day, you're either giving energy to your team or you could be sucking the life out of them and not even know it. And remember this, if you're leading the organization, if you're the one calling the shots, if you're. You're in your team or the, you know, it never gets better than your chair. So what's it going to be? You don't have to buy a new company. You don't have to go start something fresh. Fresh. Maybe you need to reset your button and find that energy. I hope you don't sleep very well tonight because you're so excited. Until we talk, my friends. Have a better than fantastic Freedom Friday. Talk to you soon. Cheers.
