(Freedom Friday Focus) Three Questions for Freedom

A short motivational talk by Kenny Chapman (the Blue Collar Coach) recorded live from the Texas State Capitol, focused on three guiding questions to create freedom in business and life: (1) how do I want it to look, (2) how do I want it to feel, and (3) who do I want it to serve. Chapman urges business leaders to intentionally design their workplace, culture, and internal service to ensure the company serves the owner’s life rather than the reverse, framing it as both an opportunity and responsibility.

Hey, my friends, Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach coming to you. And I'm fired up for freedom Friday today. I'm coming to you live from Texas State Capitol, Austin, Texas this morning. And we're talking about true freedom on a Friday. Now, three questions. I've been on site with one of our phenomenal executive clients this week. We're doing a lot of different work, diving in, polishing the plan, tweaking the plan, strategizing different things moving forward. And I was kind of working through. And yesterday we were diving in and asking some different questions. I wanted to remind you of three questions that create freedom for you and your life and your business. And those are, how do I want it to look? How do I want it to feel? And who do I want it to serve? When I think about those three things, when you think about your business. See, too often we feel like we've got handcuffs binding us to a certain business philosophy, to a certain marketplace, to a certain quality of team member, certain type of client, whatever that is. No, break those chains. What do you want it to look like? I want you to envision your building. I want you to envision your office. I want you to think about what your training center looks like, whatever that is. If it's a remodel of your current location, if it's a brand new different spot, if it's something that's on a vision board, whatever it looks like to you, what do you want it to look like? It's the power of living in a free country. Are you exercising that power? Number one, what do you want it to look like? Number two, how do you want it to feel? What does it feel like when you get to your company? When you think about the energy, right? Justin and I are so huge on culture at blue collar and what it looks like and how it feels and how it resonates with the target client, with our avatar that we're speaking to through marketing, whether we're working with essential members, Titanium members, Titanium plus Executive, whatever it looks like, right? How do we want it to feel? How do we want our culture to be? How do we want the energy to speak? What about you and your service company and the different areas of your life? How do you want it to feel? What does it feel like? Guess what? You get to choose. It's part of your freedom. Last and certainly not least, maybe the most powerful question, who do you want it to serve? And here's the reality. If you're the owner, if you're an investor, you're the risk taker. You've got the blood, sweat and tears on the line, first and foremost. Guess what? You get to decide who you want to serve. Many of us think of that, and we think, okay, we're talking business model, business strategy, segment of marketplace that I'm going to serve, who my target demographic is. I'm going to go after geographically, how far I'm going to spread out the areas that I'm going to serve. That's not what I'm talking about. Yes, that's a piece of it. But what I'm talking about today, my friends, is a little deeper than that. It's a little stronger than that. It's a little more powerful than that. It's who do you want to serve on the inside? Yesterday, when I was working with my client, we were talking about service. And as we're looking at this accountability plan and how it's going to scale and what it looks like, who does it impact on the inside? What are the opportunities we create for the team? How do we help people grow? Because your responsibility as a leader is to create that environment, that platform. And ultimately your clients need to serve the company that serves your life. That's what it's all about. Two things are happening. If you're a business owner, your company is either serving your life or your life is serving your company. Great leaders get clear on these three things, and it creates freedom when you really understand what you want it to look like, what you want it to feel like, and ultimately who you want it to serve. Set yourselves free, my friends. It's not only your opportunity, it's your responsibility. Until we talk. Have a better than fantastic weekend. We'll talk to you real soon.
