Hey, everybody, Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach with a quick message for you on Memorial Day weekend. But today is not about Memorial Day. It is a special time for me, both because of my veteran ties as well as my father, who took me to the Indy 500 three times when I was a kid. But today I want to talk about you and your business just for a moment. So bear with me. I want to talk about two things, your mindset and who you surround yourself with. See, Dad's life changed drastically based on his peer group, based on who. Who he began hanging with, based on the friends that he began to live with. No different than your life. You might not be riding with a rivals gang of the Hell's Angels, but who you're hanging with is impacting your life. The other thing is your mindset. When you think about mindset, how important it is. Now, we talk about these things all the time. We work with our coaching club clients and help them kind of get out of their own way when they're thinking negatively about business situation, life in general, whatever. But you know, I just wanted to share with you, lovely Christy and I just got back from a vacation. We had a red eye home. Now this, normally they don't bother us, we do pretty good, but it was just kind of the red eye from hell. Big seat mates next to us, you know, a lot of turbulence, both from the airlines and the air itself, but really tough trip, right? So I get home, we kind of get through the day, fight through getting a couple hours of sleep, first night back. Any of you that have been there, I know our friends in Canada and Australia can certainly relate to us. You just kind of wake up and you're just out of it. You don't know, like trying to get your mind to think right. And we're running against this deadline just like you have so many things going on right now. So I call Sherry, our business development development manager, and I'm like, man, I had a horrible red eye home, bad flight back, but I'll get my legs under me and I'll be able to work on a project later today. And she said something very important. She said, actually, Kenny, that's not true. You didn't have a horrible flight home. See, a horrible flight home would have been if your plane would have made contact with a Pacific Ocean. And I said, wow, bam. What about that for you? Who are you? Surrounding yourself with an instant can change your state of mind and go, wow, that's a good point. That wasn't a horrible flight. It was long I'm tired. It didn't change any of those things, but it changed my state of mind. How you think about your business, how you think about your team members, how you think about your family, how you think about your peers becomes your reality. I hope you're having a better than fantastic Memorial Day weekend. Until we talk again, I'm Kenny Chapman, the blue collar coach. We'll see you soon.
