sick of playing catch-up?

Kenny Chapman traces how the stress of playing catch-up follows you from high school through your career, then argues it's time to draw a line and stop. He references Les Brown's "I've had it" moment as the turning point where you finally decide things change.

Are you sick of playing catch up? Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach. Let me ask you a quick question on this Freedom Friday focus. You know, when you are you really sick of playing catch up? Because I want you to think back in a pattern of your life. See, the deal is you bring yourself, you bring your behaviors, you bring your habits, you bring your mindset, you bring your beliefs to anything that you do. The way you do something is the way you do everything, my friend. I want you to think back to high school. Now granted, I didn't do real good in high school, but I can clearly remember being very stressed out about certain tests coming up, certain sporting events that I had to play in, different types of things. Then I fast forward to my first jobs and when I was working for the boss and I was nervous if I was doing the right thing and I was stressed out, things were going to go right in and evolve in my life the way that I chose or desired. And then we kind of fast forward all the way to when I got into business and I didn't know what to do and I didn't have enough calls, therefore I was stressed out. And then we fast forward a little bit more and I know exactly what to do and I have too many calls and I can't get enough team on my side and therefore I'm stressed out. And now I think too where you are today. And I want you to reflect for a moment and I want you to find some clarity that the same pit in your stomach when you were 16 years old you might be able to find now at 48 or 58 or 28, whatever the number is. So I want you to realize now is the time to draw the line in the sand and say if you're sick of it, then draw the line and say, I've had it. Les Brown taught me that I've had it moment. If you've had it, then make a decision to make a change. We're on the day two of our management growth Academy here at headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, and we're getting clarity on what matters most. Until we talk, my friends, take your time back, take your life back and make it a better than fantastic freedom Friday. We'll see you real soon. Cheers.
