Kenny Chapman got a speeding ticket he could have avoided with a radar detector he already owned. He uses it as a lesson for business owners: you have marketing tools, sales systems, newsletters sitting unused. Audit what you already have and actually use it.

Hey, my friend, Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach, coming to you live from San Diego where we're getting ready to kick off our sales and marketing intensive tomorrow. Today, I just want to touch base real quick and talk to you about tools, the tools in your business. What are you using? What are you not using? Lovely. Christy and I are heading down to Las Vegas earlier this week on our way here for our event that starts tomorrow. And I might have been a little heavy footed. I might have been trying to go a little too quick. And I ended up with beautiful blue and red and white lights behind us as we slowed to a stop. Now, when this officer walked up, I told Christy, I said, go ahead and grab the registration and the insurance stuff. You know, maybe I've done this before, but I know what they're gonna ask for, right? So sure enough, the guy walks up, Christie opens the glove box. Well, I said open it before. Actually, I said open it before he gets here because the radar detectors in there. Now think about this. Yes, you could knock on my forehead right now if you would like. I had a radar detector in my glove box. I'm traveling across country and I'm not using a tool that can help me, that can stack the odds in my favor. Could I have still got pulled over? Sure, I could have. But why aren't I using all those odds to stack the odds in my favor? Just like that? What about you? What about your company? What about your marketing plan? What about your execution? What about your sales system? How do those marry each other together as all those tools and make sure you're using them. Surely you've come to events like what we're going to have this week. You get these great takeaways, and then you're sitting there talking to another person, another attendee, and they say, yeah, we've got this great newsletter that we send out. And you say, man, I remember I used to send newsletters. I wonder when I got away from that. I wonder what I'm not doing that works. I know it works, but somehow we got away from it. I want you to think about those things. You know, recently I sold a chunk of stock to a business partner in one of my primary service businesses. And it was such a great thing to have different sets of eyes come in and go, yeah, we did used to do that. I wonder when we got away from that. What's your focus? What are you paying attention to? What are the tools you have right now in your possession that could be improving your business and your life? And you're not using them. Open the toolbox, my friend. Get in there and use these tools until we talk again. I'm Kenny Chapman, coming to you from beautiful San Diego, where we're kicking this event off tomorrow. I'll touch base with you with some key takeaways as we go through the week. Have a better than fantastic week, and I'll talk to you soon.
