The F word at work? (No I don't use it)

Short motivational video by Kenny Chapman (the Blue Collar Coach) encouraging reframing work-related challenges as opportunities for growth and profitability. He proposes introducing 'fun' into the workplace—framed as the 'F word'—and emphasizes competing with oneself, shifting mindset from problems to opportunities, and that enjoyment drives success. Mentions mentor/business partner Joe Polish and the 'ELF' idea (Easy, Lucrative, Fun).

Hey, my friends, Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach, your partner in profitability. Just want to touch base on challenge today. So there I want to bring in the F word, if you will. Now, no, I'm not one of these guys that's dropping it all over Facebook and all that type of stuff. What I am going to talk about is the F word when it comes to work. See, we're taught that work's a four letter word, right? Okay, well, I guess I can't argue with that. I, I do know enough about grammar and spelling that works four letter word. But it doesn't have to be that four letter word perception that we have. I want to talk about the F word of fun. What about that in the workplace? What about that in your environment? What about that in your leadership style? What about that in your company? Right? So today I'm talking about challenges, opportunities and fun. Last week we talked about problems. I talked about the four step process of taking a problem and turning it into literally a gift because we have an opportunity to grow and that's where our profit comes from. But today I want you to just think about challenge. When we look at a challenge in life, the dictionary defines it as some form of competition. We rise to the occasion of a challenge. What I want us to realize is we are competing with ourselves more than anybody else out there. My friends. It's not about your competition down the street. It's not about that H vac contractor around the corner, electrician across town. That's not who you're competing with. You're competing with yourself. You're competing with your mind, you're competing with your limiting beliefs on a daily basis. That becomes a challenge. So when we rise to the occasion of a challenge like that, beautiful things begin to happen. Because I go, hey, wait a minute. Challenge means opportunity for growth. If I see challenge and I go, hey, there's an opportunity here. I don't care if it's whether you're working on marketing system, flat rate book, insurance companies, different things, challenges are going to happen. But when we reframe them in our minds and say, wait a minute, this is actually an opportunity. Opportunities are where growth comes from. Growth is where profit comes from. And progress is what we all want, right? So just let's focus on that today and let's think about challenges, opportunities. And when we come to work with that mindset, it becomes fun. My buddy and mentor, and now business partner, Joe Polish, we talk about the fact that he calls it an elf business. Easy, lucrative and fun. Most of us have a limiting belief that that's not possible in this industry. My most successful clients have fun, and they don't have fun because they're successful. They're successful because they have fun. I'm Kenny Chapman. Until we talk again, have a better than fantastic day, and we'll see you soon.
