Tolerator or Thermostat?

Kenny Chapman contrasts two mindsets: tolerators who accept mediocrity, and thermostats who set desired outcomes and run the system to achieve them. He pushes listeners to define their desired temperature across cash flow, team, clients, and marketing, then act decisively to get there.
Hey, my friend Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach, coming to you with.
Quick message and a question for you. Are you a thermostat or are you a tolerator? Now, I understand tolerator is not really a word, but I want you to go with me on this. Most people we see tolerate way too much in their personal lives and their relationships with their finances, with their businesses, with their team members, with their outside vendors, everything. Stop tolerating so much and become a thermostat for your business and your life. Do you want to be somebody that just sits back and just waits and allows things to happen?
See, I've talked to you about this.
Before, but this is really, really important. And I've been on a personal mission for about the last year of what I call the cleanse of nonsense in my life to get rid of things that don't make sense, get rid of synergy, relationships that there's no synergy there, and create synergy. So this is about you and thinking about tolerating things versus being that thermostat where you set the temper. Okay, think about it. Where most of us are in this business, right? So you decide what you want the temperature to be with the thermostat. The thermostat then runs the system which cools or heats the home, right?
We all know how to do that.
You could probably design it and do a load calc for me.
What about your business? Why aren't you becoming the thermostat and.
Go, here's the temperature that I want. Here's the cash flow that I want. Here's the team that I want, here's.
The clients that I want to work for.
Here's the marketing I want to ploy what, you know, deploy. What about becoming that for your business? Where now I say, here's the that I want and now run the system, kick on the compressor, get the condenser going. Whatever the case might be in your business, you're tolerating too much. My friends, this business isn't that hard. You don't have to make it harder than it is.
You do count on people.
You do train.
But, you know, our clients come to.
Us because two reasons. One is that they're tired of being tired, sick and tired of being sick and tired. Mediocre results, not enough cash flow, struggling.
To make payday, spend so long, and now with their time, go lying in the sand. I'm done tolerating, ready for new results. That's one type. The other type is already a thermostat. And they're successful and they're crushing it, and they're killing their market, their competition in their market. They're doing everything great and everything right, and they're going, hey, we want to stay ahead. We want to be cutting edge. We want to be around smart people.
But for you, I want you to just think about your business. What are the things you're tolerating that you need to stop? We need to continue to dig a little bit deeper and make a decision on what do you want to take action on? Stop tolerating things and say yes to the next level of your greatest life and business. Until we talk again. Have a better than fantastic day and I'll talk to you soon.
