Trading your time for what...?

Kenny Chapman argues you should treat time like money and stop wasting it on low-value tasks. He uses examples from his Titanium coaching group to show how setting boundaries and delegating frees you for what actually matters.

Hey, my friend Kenny Chapman here, the Blue Collar coach, with a quick message for you about time and what you're trading your time for. And I know you're trading your time right now to spend a couple minutes with me. So I'm going to hit you with some value. I want you to think about something. What if your time was currency? What if your time was just like the dough that you make, the money that you earn, that you put in the bank and you try to get interest on and you try to get an ROI from and all the different things, and you use it as assets and use it for leverage and all those different types of things. What if time's kind of the same way? See, in our Titanium coaching group, the last month, we've been focused on how you control your time, how you get your control of your schedule back, how you build boundaries around your system, how you work to get to inbox zero, the things that are cluttering your mind. One of the reasons I wanted to share this with you is because I'm seeing what it's doing for our Titanium clients. I'm seeing how it's helping people that are saying, you know what? I am going to take control of my schedule and my time is valuable. And I have team members. Justin, the CEO of Blue Collar, yesterday, we were doing a live cast together for our Titanium group, and he was talking about the fact that your team, sometimes your team members are a paid audience. I was like, I love that. Think about it. A paid audience. Every time somebody comes in and you know, oh, I need this. I'm asking this. And you haven't empowered and you haven't trained, and it's not that you don't communicate. That's not what it's about. It's about communicating more effectively. So think about this. I read about a study that they did, or not a study, but actually like a promotion thing. And we've seen this happen. Different areas, different times. But there's a chicken fried chicken company that did a thing. A free bucket of chicken, right? All you had to do. I don't remember exactly. You had to jump through some who maybe like their Facebook page, do something, whatever, bring some coupon that they might have had, whatever that is, right? And it was like, okay, so a $6 bucket of chicken, right? So a free one, Literally free. Come on down, it's six bucks. Well, guess what? Tons of people showed up. They waited in lines. My friends, go ahead and hop in here and jump in and ask me anything. I'm not ignoring you. I'm just putting this in here so you know, when you look at that, hundreds of people show up. People waited in line for hours for a six dollar bucket of chicken. Now I want to go there because we think about it and I was talking to lovely Christy about this yesterday about J jet travel. One of the things I want to do is fly private and I want to do it more and my time is going to be valuable enough that I'll hit that tipping point and we go, oh, must be no people flying private and all that. We just spent the week in Aspen and you want to see a jet parking lot go up around the airport in Aspen, right? And some of us that are conditioned with a limiting mindset go, man, what a waste of money. Can you believe that things 10 million bucks and the people flying it are going, you know what, I'm not going two hours ahead of time to the airport and having a four hour connection and being at their beck and call because my time is more valuable than that. Now is there an ego play there sometime? Maybe so. But don't let yourself off the hook. Think about what you're trading your own time for. If you had three weeks to live or three months to live, would you be waiting in line for a $6 bucket of chicken? Come on, let's think about that. Best buy holidays, get outside of Walmart, stay camp for three freaking days for a 42 inch TV. What? Go make a bunch of dough and buy a 60 inch TV. That's what I'm talking about. Right? So we can see that you're with me right now. You're going. Yeah, Kenny, I get it, I get it. But you're not applying it in your company, you're not applying it in your life. Take that metaphor of sitting on a sidewalk, camping for three days to get something and apply that. Where are you camping out on the sidewalk of your company? Where are you camping out on the sideline of the of your life, the sidewalk of what makes you tick. I want you to think about that because you are dying. That's right. You don't know. You don't know if you got today, tomorrow, three weeks or three years. I'm not going to go deep on you, but I've got to get your attention to take control of the most valuable asset you have. Today's the day. If I can help you, hit me up until we talk again, my friends, Kenny Chapman, the blue collar coach, have a better than fantastic day and we'll talk to you real soon.
