A short motivational YouTube clip by Kenny Chapman (the 'blue collar coach') urging viewers to stop making passive excuses and to set emotionally tied, specific goals rather than vague New Year's resolutions. He emphasizes focusing on what you can control—personal habits, team actions, company metrics, and family responsibilities—and uses examples such as earning more money in 2013, weight loss, and adding company equipment to illustrate goal types. The clip closes with a direct call to act now despite external economic or political concerns.

Hey, everybody, Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach, coming to you with a quick video clip here for this week's Freedom Friday focus. And this week I'm talking about the overall topic of what are you waiting for? Now is the time. You know, I'm not a New Year's resolution guy. I'm a big goal setting guy. I wrote last week about why New Year's resolutions don't work and how important it is to create a goal and tie some emotion. If you have a goal, you need to know why you have a goal. If you want to earn more money in 2013 than you did in 20, why, what is that going to do for your life? It's no different than teaching technicians to sell. We sell on benefits, right? So people buy on emotion and then they justify with logic. Well, we do the same thing as leaders of our companies when we're setting goals for ourselves. And that could be a weight loss goal, that could be a company statistic goal, adding a truck, whatever the case is. Okay? So this week I just want you to kind of reflect. What are you waiting for? There's all this hub of another slow economy and we got the wrong legislation in office and all this stuff. Guess what? That's outside of you. You can't do anything about that now. Hopefully you voted. You did the best you can. Now we're do the best we can in 2013 with what we've got now. This is about you. This is about your team. This is about your company. This is about your family. What are you waiting for? It's 2013, baby. Let's rock and roll. See you next week.
