Hey, my friend Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach, coming to you with a quick message to take you back in time. I don't know how old you are. I don't know how long you've been out of high school, but I want you to think about this. Now, I say high school, either grade school, high school. Let's think back to story problems in math. Remember that? Remember the whole thing of, let's see, a train is leaving Chicago and it's traveling 80 miles an hour, and two, two guys on a horse are leaving Southern California and they begin heading each other and all this stuff. And, oh, my head would hurt and I'd read through it and it wouldn't make sense to me and I'd go, oh, my gosh, when am I ever going to use this? Here's what I want you to think about. Your company is your story problem. Your company is in math equation to be solved. Period, end of story. Now we're talking about. We're in the people business. A lot of things go into what this math equation looks like. But at the end of the day, right, if you generate more in revenue than it costs you to do so, you make money, you make profit. Too many contractors aren't focused there. And today, I just want you to think about it. Years ago, I was so blessed to have a great mentor that just simply broke it down to me and said, kenny, math is simply. Or your company, rather is simply a math problem. Solve the problem and you have the company that you desire. What does that mean? I've got to look at what I charge. I got to look at what it takes me to do business. I've got to dive into marketing campaigns. I've got to understand my return on investment. I got to know my margins. I've got to know if my marketing is working, which campaign. I got to know which department has the better gross margin. All these types of things tie into the ultimate math equation, which is, do you generate more than it costs you to do? So if you don't, then let's begin breaking down and looking at these. I was working with one of our Titanium clients this week on a selling price thing, and it made me think about you and wanting you to explore what's your daily dashboard look like. Do you have a spreadsheet where you put in some key performance indicators that make sense to you that you can help with? If you'd like a copy one of these, hit me an email, shoot me a reply back, and we'll make one available to you. So you can have this moving forward, but you want to tweak it. Don't use our information. I want it to be your information. But we can help you get started. My friends, I couldn't wait to get out of school and I couldn't wait to solve the math story problems. And now that I understand that a little bit, I'm able to apply it to business. I want you to solve your equation. When it comes to math, I'm Kenny Chapman, the blue collar coach. Until we talk again, have a better than fantastic day and I'll see you real.
