Tech Comparison Logitech Brio vs Logitech C920

A short YouTube tech-demo by Kimberly Crowe comparing three camera inputs for webcasting: the Mac FaceTime camera (HD), the Logitech C920 (1080p HD), and the new Logitech Brio (4K). She demonstrates video and microphone differences live (recorded over Zoom), notes portability of the C920, and plans to review recordings to judge quality.

Hey, folks, a lot of people have asked me questions about cameras and what cameras to use in order to do webcasting. So we're going to talk a little bit about that. Why? Because I just got a brand new toy. That's right. I just got a brand new Brio camera. It's. Sorry, it's upside down. So it's a Brio camera to use for my webcasting business. I'm not on it now. I'm actually just on my Mac because I thought it would be fun to show you some of the qualities and the differences in them. Now, each of the cameras have different lenses, so we're going to look at the different lenses. And each of the cameras have different microphones. So we're going to listen to some of the different microphones and then we'll test out that technology. Sound good? All right, cool. I'm Kimberly with entrepreneurs Rocket Fuel. I'm excited to be sharing this with you guys today. A little bit of a tech check. All right, so right now we're on my FaceTime camera. It's just on my map. It is in HD and it's relatively good quality. You've got to love Macs. Right now we're going to go next to a Logitech C920, which is the one that I've been using. And it works really, really well. I've done two web summits with it. I've done all kinds of different events with it. It goes with me everywhere. It plugs into a usb. You can just wrap it up and put it into your briefcase and have it on the go. The other one is just that small too. But if you are looking at bringing a camera, bring a camera that's, you know, doesn't have to be a big tech if you can. This, the new one that I just got is this one right here. It is the Logitech brio. It's in 4k. So I'm hearing that 4k is the thing to do. It's the fashizzle. I don't know if I'm allowed to use that word, but it's supposed to be really cool. So we're going to switch over to it. Alright, so next we're going to try the one that's regular. So the HD Pro Cam C920, which is a 1080p. I'm going to say that slower. So it's HD Pro webcam C920. It actually says number two. I don't know why that is. And we're going to Switch over to that now. So here we go. Blink. Okay, so do you remember when she used to do that? I think it was like that. Okay, so this is the Webcam from the C920. This is the one that I've been using all along. We're going to switch over to the microphone for it now.
Blink. Okay, so here is the Logitech C920. And this is the test microphone. So I'm not talking any differently. It's the exact same volume around me right now, but it is the different microphone, so maybe you can tell a difference there. Again, we're recording this on zoom, so it might be a function of zoom as well. And next, we're going to try out the video from the new camera, which is the Logitech Brio, and it's the brand new one. So I'm going to show you that now. Ready? Here we go. Blink. Okay, I don't know if that actually works. All right, so this is the Logitech Brio. I don't know what you're seeing differently because I can't see anything differently on my screen. And we're going to switch over to that camera or the microphone.
Okay, so now it's recording on the other microphone as well. So I'm not changing my voice. I'm not changing my style. It's just now it's on the Logitech camera that you can see that I can see up on my screen. All right, so I hope you can tell a little bit of a difference. I'm not going to know until I actually listen to this video. But if you are looking for a camera, this might be some stuff to check out to see whether or not it's the right camera for you. My name is Kimberly. In the meantime, cheers.
