Hi, hello! I have been gone for almost 2 months. Can you believe it? We have been vacationing, we have been hitting up the pool, walking to the park. It's been so awesome, but I'm also so glad to be back. Even though I've been away, I've still been talking to people. Talking about a little bit of this.
For me, becoming a father was one of the biggest items on my bucket list. It means joy, it means happiness, it means love. It's just— it gives you purpose. I've already felt that purpose just here in the little heartbeat or feeling the kicks, so I just can't imagine how much more it will expound.
And a little bit of that.
So my son Easton When he was about 18 months, I started noticing some symptoms, lack of eye contact. He would make himself gag on foods, like stick his hands down his throat. He would do, this is really hard to describe, but he would do like, "Bleh." Is that like you would think about on a trampoline, a butt bomb? So he would like fall on his butt everywhere he would be, like on concrete, in the grass, in the bathtub, in the living room, just on the carpet, just seeking that sensory input. Um, and you would think it'd be so painful for him, but it wasn't. He wouldn't fall over. And most 18-month-old kids at that point, when they fall and wipe out, you know, usually they cry a little bit.
Oh, and this too: Where do dogs come from?
Does people and dogs come from the sky, from like heaven? Or like, I know they come from their moms, but I'm like Where do they come from? It's just, it's just, where do they come from? It seems like they come from the sky, from heaven, but I know how this works. So they, they start as a seed. They start as a seed in their mom's tummy when their, their mom is in their grandma's tummy. So they start out like that, but still, where do dogs and people come from?
Side note, yes. That is my 1-year-old in the background making noises. He was so excited and also wanted to talk when he heard Lily asking about dogs. I think he also felt like he had some knowledge in that area. While I've been away, I've also been thinking about the podcast, about the setup. Over the last several months, I've done different things with each episode I've had somebody else host. I've implemented different strategies and had different advertisements. Moving forward, I would still like to keep it open. So really anything goes on these episodes. You could be hearing straight from the guest, just from me, maybe from another host. We could be combining stories. I'm just here as the catalyst, giving other people their voice. I'm also here to create an awesome, entertaining show for you. With that being said, I have decided to rebrand just a little bit and just with the logo. So I'm keeping the image of the red door, but I'm also adding a picture of me just so that everybody is familiar with who I am. And also changing the name just a little bit. We're keeping The Red Door but taking out The Girl with the Red Door because I was once the girl with the red door. I no longer have a red door. Still love red. Still a girl. Still have a door. Anyways, you get the picture. So if you do see a different logo or a different show tile, that's why. This is the new one.
Updated.
Still same girl. Still same woman. Here to bring you basically the same show. Just with a different picture. Alright. Keep an eye out. We have an episode coming out in a few days. I feel like all of my episodes are just full of emotion. Whether that's love, anxiety, anger, passion, excitement, which I love that. I love that we can evoke some of that emotion and, you know, break through stigmas. I hope that as you listen to the show, you find comfort in that connection, hearing somebody else's story. Always feel free to reach out, give us some love. I say us because really, as I'm thinking about it, I just love to include everyone. I'm thinking of you as my listener. I'm thinking of my guests. I'm thinking of my friends who have offered to be a part of the show. I just want us all to have that connection. If you know me, even if you don't love me— know me, you know that my vibe is all about that love. Love is my religion, just like Ziggy Marley says. So without further ado, welcome to The Red Door. Rebranded, transfigured, same mantra. Here to give you a voice, sharing real stories, raw, unfiltered, no bullshit. I'm your host, Kristjana Hillberg.
