The host reflects on nearly three decades of growth and announces the podcast is shifting to alternate between guest interviews and solo episodes. She argues that painful experiences and labels like divorcee or abused don't define who you are, and that you have the power to choose a new path.

Welcome to The Girl with the Red Door. I started this podcast for many reasons, and one of them was to be the catalyst for others to share their voice. I personally find it liberating and therapeutic to talk about and discuss those experiences in our lives that have changed us, molded us. Sometimes when you're in the middle of fire, burning, questioning why me, why now, trying to digest the change and the rebirth that has taking place, it's hard to be thankful. I've been here many times in my life, and now that I've been on this earth for almost 30 years, the lessons I've learned were mostly hard ones, but ones that brought me here. I've mentioned before that as I look back on my life, I feel cat-like, like I've been given 9 lives and lived 6 so far. Our minds are powerful. Transformation truly is remarkable. You can change and decide what life you want to lead at any time. You can take your situation, learn, and evolve. The podcast has reached 20 episodes. When I set off on this journey, I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I didn't research for countless hours, batch record weeks in advance, script out every episode. It's been a learn-as-you-go project. I'd say this strategy is a blessing and a curse. I've used it many times in my past as well. Every so often, this habitual way of jumping all in brings happiness and newfound gifts, but more often than not, it has brought pain, unforeseen stress, and a ripple effect, leaving those in my path angry, hurt, and left with the bitter taste of salt in their mouths and heart. Now, I'm a firm believer in rising after you've been kicked in the stomach. Maybe not literally, but I feel like we can all relate to some sort of excessive ache. An event that has caused you to abandon all trust, label yourself, and possibly be categorized as the divorcee, the abused, the cripple, the medicated, the cheater. The list goes on and on. I say fuck that. You experience life. You are not your experiences. You make choices daily. Some may push you down a rabbit hole and others may take you down a path you never thought imaginable. But just because you've been there once, or even twice, doesn't mean you are there forever. If you are unhappy, examine that festering wound and heal yourself. Get out. Fight. Conquer. I'm changing the layout of the podcast. Periodically I will have a guest, and the other times you will get to hear strictly from me. Me. I don't want to define what that's going to look like, but I'm excited to unravel and curate over the next year. Being transparent with you is my main goal. I love you, and I think about you often and how I can bring light and happiness as you tune in each week. You inspire me and touch my life continuously. I leave you today with the thought to remember who you are, who you truly are. Not the labels you've been given, the group you're a part of, or the lies you've told yourself for so long. You are loved. You are good. You are powerful.
Bye!
