Chapters
The greatest destroyer of wealth is distractions. For most entrepreneurs, their primary business is their driver of wealth. So every dollar they take out of that primary business should be used to strengthen their portfolio, primarily by hedging risk. When I have a primary business that's already making money, I want to eliminate distractions. So my investment should be simple. I want to make sure that time that I'm spending on investing is as little and as efficient as possible. Creating a decision-making framework, it allows me to say no to almost every deal immediately unless it fits those parameters. That keeps me from wasting a tremendous amount of time looking at everything that might come across my desk. Instead, because I have a very specific investment thesis, the framework should be easy to understand, and you should know immediately within about 30 seconds of looking at an investment whether it fits or doesn't fit within that portfolio.
