I hear people ask about how they can increase their happiness. The thing that I think is that most people are actually solving for the wrong variable because happiness is a fleeting emotion. The only thing that we know about happiness is that it's not going to last forever. We know when there's good times, there also has to be bad times on the horizon. And so if we solve for the variable of fulfillment, which I define as aligned action, meaning I am creating a goal for, let's call it, impact, and I am aligning all of my actions to creating more impact in my life, then I know even if my business isn't going as well as it used to be, or external factors are affecting my happiness in the moment, I know that I'm taking actions to create fulfillment. As long as I do that, I can weather those bad times and look forward to better times in the future.
