An entrepreneur confronts why busyness feels safer than stillness. The speaker argues constant activity masks an attempt to outrun past pain or fill an inner void, and that sitting with discomfort is where real growth begins.

Are you wearing busyness as a badge of honor? If so, I would really invite you to step back and ask yourself, what would it look like to actually sit in stillness? And I hear this from entrepreneurs all the time, which is like, oh, I can never slow down. Like, I've got to keep myself busy. And my question would be an invitation to maybe step back a little bit and ask why. Why is it that it's so difficult to sit in stillness or not be constantly improving? What is it that you're trying not to feel? And there's a real opportunity there to kind of dive in and get really curious about where those feelings of discomfort come from. Because the reality is, if you're trying to outrun your past by staying busy or fulfilling that hole through achievement, like, those are really big shoes to fill and it's never going to work. So if you're creating from that place of darkness, it's really beneficial to take time, step back, say, okay, what is it that I'm running from? What is it that I'm trying to actually do here? And why am I so uncomfortable not being busy? It's a great place to start.
