A short podcast monologue (June 13, 2023) in which a speaker—addressing pastors—explains that cultural change and community healing take time. The speaker recounts over a decade of experience, acknowledges mistakes, and urges pastors to take steps of faith, create accessible 'on ramps' for congregations, and expect messy but liberating progress as people experience freedom.
You know, this, this did not happen overnight. Stories you're hearing now, the testimonies we have now, you know, we've been doing this for over a decade, and, you know, there's a lot of bumps and bruises and mistakes we made along the way. When you have that behind you, and if you are a pastor who is a senior pastor of a church, big or small, and you're kind of weighing the options, you do see culturally where we're at, it's time that we, as a church, you know, stepped out. And sometimes it's, it's a, it's a big leap. It's a step of faith. What we're doing is the tip a spear. I just encourage you, you know, as, as a pastor, provide as many on ramps as you can for your community. I think it's super important. And it, it creates healing. You know, it's, it cultivates healing. And yes, there will be messes along the way, but a lot of those, a lot of your fears will be alleviated when you see people walking in freedom.
