A short YouTube monologue by Nick Stumbo reflecting on a couple who endured multiple affairs. Stumbo emphasizes that because the couple faced their pain instead of avoiding it, God used the messiness to produce growth and positive fruit in their marriage.
I heard a couple that was sharing about a string of multiple affairs in the marriage, and then they looked back on their story and said, but if we could change anything about our story, we wouldn't change a thing. And that's crazy to hear because it's like, well, wait, wouldn't you go back and undo all the pain and the hurt? But what they see is because we faced this pain and because we had to go deep into it and we didn't run from it, God brought some things into our marriage. God used that messiness to create growth and fruit in ways that we couldn't have gotten here any other way.
