One thought about trinitarian theology was the thought about the divine is that they're mutually indwelling. It's the sexual connotation, Father, Son and Spirit, that they're mutually indwelling, yet they don't lose their distinctiveness. They're still the Father, the Son and the Spirit, and the three are one. That's how we try to even define the Trinity. The three are one, so the same thing as marriage. A man will leave his Father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two will become one. So there's that imagery of mutually indwelling, but not losing your distinctiveness of who you are, male and female.
