A short podcast/video segment (speaker A) arguing that outward behavioral change is insufficient unless accompanied by ongoing inner emotional and psychological work. The speaker emphasizes that unaddressed internal issues eventually manifest externally (often appearing "sudden" to observers), and urges sustained attention to "heart work" as part of recovery. The speaker also promotes an upcoming summit/podcast as having practical resources for this ongoing process.
We can work really hard on behaviors and cleaning up on the outside, and everyone looks and goes, man, your life looks amazing. But if something is off and unaddressed on the inside, it will eventually go sideways. And in those moments, to others, it can feel like suddenly, suddenly their marriage went off the rails. Well, it's not suddenly. It's just that that's the moment that what was going on in the inside finally came out and happened on the outside. And then it looks tragic. And so this is our effort in recovery to say, man, we have to pay as much, if not more attention to those inner workings. It's easier to, like you said, Ashley, just tell me what to do to stop it, to fix it, to change it. But if someone says, well, man, work on your heart. Okay, okay. Like, you know, it's. It's not as straightforward, and it takes time, and it is a process. And that's why I think this work of our heart, working on our heart, paying attention to our heart, is an ongoing process that will just always. There's always something we can do. And so that's why I'm. I'm really encouraged, like, about this podcast or the summit coming up, is there's something for everyone, because this is a work we all need to do.
