A short monologue by Nick Stumbo urging people to address hidden past sins or secrets promptly so they can be redeemed and healed. Stumbo argues buried issues tend to worsen, secrecy breeds shame and harm, and bringing matters into the light allows God to begin redeeming difficult stories; light is jarring at first but ultimately expels darkness.
If it hasn't been dealt with up until now, now is the best time to deal with it, because in all likelihood, it will only get worse. You know, I've talked about that. Anything that's buried, unless it's a seed, everything else that's buried rots and gets worse, not better. And your secret or the stuff in your past is not a seed that's going to grow into new life. I mean, maybe one day if it's redeemed, but if it's a secret, it's going to rot and just cause more death. Keeping that perspective is believing God can redeem really, really tough stories. And I'd rather have that redemption start now and not prolong it another five or ten years or whatever. Let's. Let's try to bring that redemption in now and give God the opportunity to start doing his work in an area that really has probably been a playground for Satan to create shame and fear and pain and all the stuff that comes with that light is hard at first because it can be very jarring and make us squint. But if we get used to the light and it expels the darkness, that's going to be good in the long run for everyone.
