There is only one speaker present, and no indication that Nick Stumbo is involved.
The reason we call a blind spot a blind spot is because you can't see it. And if you don't think you have one, well, it's because you can't see it. And it's probably evidence that you have one that you believe you don't. That's why it's a blind spot. And we all have them. And it's amazing how often in group you hear in them something in a new way that you now see for yourself through fresh eyes. Like, oh, I've never understood the excuses I make until I hear it coming from you. And now it's painfully obvious that I do the same thing or I'm stuck in the same pattern. And that's the reality too. When we've been in any sort of addictive behavior, we're in a pattern. We're in a self replicating repeating cycle that's hard to break out of. And if all we do is keep seeing what we've always seen and doing what we've always done, we're likely going to keep getting what we've always gotten in terms of our results. So when I add another person to that equation and I listen to their story, I listen to the attempts they're making, I learn from their mistakes, I learn from their growth. It just does something to change my pattern. And I think it's absolutely crucial.
