A short YouTube podcast monologue (Nick Stumbo) arguing that when a spouse who doesn’t want sex offers outside help (counseling), the other spouse should accept it. The speaker urges immediate, concrete action ("go make the phone call"), frames refusal as resistance to growth and attention to the partner's needs, and endorses counseling as low-risk with potential for relationship momentum.
If the spouse who doesn't want to have sex wants outside help, you should do it. I mean, honestly, if you're in a situation where they don't want to have sex, but they're saying, could we go meet with a counselor? And you're saying, no, then, buddy, you've got nobody to blame but yourself. Counseling. Right. Like, honestly, you need to turn off the podcast and just go make the phone call because your spouse is giving you something they think might help. Yes. A doorway that you could walk through. And if you're rejecting saying, oh, we don't need that. We just need to start having sex. Like, you're showing in your response that you're not ready to pay attention to their needs. You're showing by your resistance that you don't really want to grow, and it's probably creating fear for your spouse. It's just going to be more of the same. And so if the spouse that doesn't want sex wants outside help, go for it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. And there are really great people out there that can create some real momentum in your relationships.
