Creating & sticking to easy selling habits

Amy Guy shows creators how to build selling habits that don't feel like work. Stay authentic by promoting only what you'd use, show up consistently, reply to comments, film unboxings as part of your routine, and block short time windows to shoot and edit so it becomes automatic.

So step four is creating and sticking to easy selling habits. Now I know that we mentioned about sticking to easy content habits. So when it comes to selling as well, there's some really easy things you can put in place which you can just do over and over and over again which get you into these places of not even having to think about recommending products, right? So how do we do that? So we do that by staying authentic. I have spoken about this obviously time and time again, through and through, only featuring products that you would use, love or lusting over. And even though I mentioned before where products might not necessarily work, so maybe you tried and tested something, but it wasn't for you, this is still really important because it was an item on your wish list to begin with. What you don't want to do is recommend something that you would never use, never try and never give to a friend. That's where you have to think about it, right? Just think of it as like your family or friends if you wouldn't give it to them and actually be proud of this gift that you've given. Don't be recommending it to your followers. Give them that same respect. So consistency. I know this can be really, really hard, but I promise you, once you get into that habit of showing up on your account all the time, it becomes so much easier. When I now get a new product or when I buy something from Amazon, today being a prime example, I order something for myself because hey, we all love a bit of online shopping and it's now just a habit of me sharing that product online because I'm like, oh my God, I bought this and it's so good. And I have to tell these people about this product because I'm actually doing a disservice to them by them not knowing about this amazing product. Communication. Reply to as many comments, DMs and questions as you can. This has really worked in my favor. I make my account and my space online a space that people feel comfortable responding to. If there's a question about a product that I've recommended, whether it's sizing specifications, my experience with it, I am always really open and ask what I'll say to people. My DMs are always open. If you have any questions at all, please make sure that you DM me. And I work really hard to make sure that I'm replying to all my comments, all my DMs, all my, all my messages. If I can reply to my family and friends, I can do the same thing here. Routine. Make Shooting content part of your routine. And again, you don't need to overthink this. But if you are opening a package anyway, why not just film it? You could literally pop your stories on, tell people that you're doing an unboxing, you'd love to bring them along for the ride. And then you just link those products. You could literally have a folder like I do recent buys or recent restocks or whatever it is and that product or that list is what you link to in that story. And all you've done is just basically film what you're unboxing, which you were doing anyway. Planning. Create a product I can recommend list in your phone. I do this regularly. I will add to that list because I know that there's loads of things that I've not thought about or I've purchased back like maybe a few months ago or recently and I can refer back to that list when I'm like, right, maybe it's time to talk about something that I love. So I go back to that list and I'm like, right, these are the things I can talk about at the moment. These are things that I can maybe do a video or a piece of content about. Make sure that you are updating your highlight, your link in bio and your storefront regularly so those lists make them relevant. If they are relevant to seasons or a sale or maybe you've got a person, maybe you've got an event in your life that's happening. Maybe you've had loads of summer requests summonels. So you want to have a list or content on your storefront or your affiliate platform that's relevant to that. Make sure that you are staying in touch with what's currently going on and what people are asking from you as well. Time. Block out time in your diary to shoot and edit content. I know this can sometimes be hard, but again, once you get into the rhythm of things, it doesn't actually need to be really, really time consuming. If you've got 10 minutes between a client, that could be your 10 minutes to quickly edit a video or post a story or reply to some comments. Once you do that repetitively, like you get into such a rhythm, it literally becomes part of your routine.
