Email Nurture Sequences

Amy Guy shows nail and beauty salon owners how to use automated email sequences to keep clients coming back. A five-part sequence includes booking reminders, thank-you emails with rebooking links, cross-sell offers, free add-ons for new clients, and VIP invitations. Tools like Mailchimp and Flodesk make it simple.

Okay, so now we know more about email marketing and how to actually grow an email list. I want to talk to you about email nature sequences. So these are ways to build connection and trust with your audience without actually sounding salesy. And the way in which we do that is through a series of emails. So my first question to you is, do you keep in touch with your clients in between appointments? So the minute they walk out of their door with their gorgeous fresh set of nails, we when are we next communicating with that customer? Or do we not see them again or speak to them again unless they book in? So nine times out of 10, the nail techs that I talk to, they do not see or hear from that customer again unless they rebook for another appointment. That is not what we want. We want to be communicating with these people consistently so that they choose us time and time again and so that they become a regular client. We put all of our focus on gaining new clients. We're always looking to bring new people into our business, especially when we're growing and we're trying to grow out our income. But what if we could create something so special that clients never want to leave? That is called nurturing your existing audience and your existing client base. So it's actually what are we doing with our existing clients to not only make sure that they come back, but also increase the amount that they spend with us? Because in order to grow your income right now you might be thinking the answer is in more. More clients, more treatments, more appointments, more money. But not necessarily. Sometimes the answer is in simplifying nurturing your existing community and actually just selling more things to the people who are already bought into who you are and what you do. But the only way people are going to buy more from you is if they know you sell more. So emails are a great way of non directly sharing with your existing customers what it is that you offer and how they can actually shop and have experiences with you that they might not have opted in for before or they might not even know that you do. So like how many of you have got have clients who are regular nail clients? They come for B app or acrylic or gel or whatever it is on their hands, but they never get their toes done. Do they even know that you do toes? Do they know that you do pedicures? Do they know what else that you offer? Are they going to someone else down the road for a full pedicure experience? Because they don't realize that you do it? That is where your email nature sequences come in. So an email nature sequence is just an automated series of emails designed specifically for those in your email list. So remember when I spoke before about different lists that you can have. So you could have BEAB clients in one list, you could have acrylic clients in another, or you could have your beginner students in one list, you could have a wait list for your E file course in another list. So all of these people are split into lists. Well, each of those lists can have their own email nature sequence depending on who the person in the audience is and what pain points they are currently having or what we want to sell or market to those people. So the purpose of nurturing these people is to, number one, stay top of mind for existing or past customers, number two, to build loyalty and relationships, and number three, the most important one, to make additional sales and grow your income. So here are some examples of a nurture sequence that you could send out to your existing clients. Now if you're an educator, I'm going to go into educating in the next section. So don't worry about that. Just watch this for now and then I will give you more focus stuff on education in the following following section. But for the purpose of this I just want to focus on you as a nail tech, building your client base and really nurturing your existing clients. So this is a five part sequence that I'm going to whiz through with you that you could be sending out to your clients when they walk through the door. So rather than them just booking an appointment, coming in through the appointments, leaving and never seeing them again, instead their customer journey from an email perspective looks like this. So first of all they book their appointment with you and then straight away they will get an automated email that we link up to your booking system that is a booking reminder. So it will say all the details of their upcoming appointments. It will tell them the location, the date and the time. It will tell them the service they booked in for and who it's with. It will also tell them the remaining balance that they have to pay for that appointment. Then if you have any additional bits of information about where to park or you know, where to wait or whether or not to come in and things like that, then you can give them all of that information in their book and reminder. Now what's this going to do? It's going to build trust. It's going to allow your client to understand exactly what they're walking into. For them to feel less anxious, for them to feel more prepared and already connected to you before they have even Come to your salon. Right, so that is the first one that they will get is a booking reminder email and that goes out automatically. So once you've written this template once, your booking system will fill in all the gaps for you and will amend this email for each person and send it out automatically. So you only have to write this out once and then it's done forever. Now, the second email you would send the customer is welcome to whatever your salon is called. Family. Right, so this is straight after they've been to the appointment. So again, it's not common for people to do this. However you are going to and this is what's going to set you apart. So straight away, hey, welcome to the family. Thank you so much for choosing me and my salon to come for your beauty treatments. It was absolutely lovely to meet you. I had the best time and we couldn't be happier to have you now as a part of the family. If you had a gorgeous time during your visit, I'd love to tag you on social media or share a picture of your nails. Just tag me and I will do that. I would also love to hear your feedback. So here's a link to my reviews where you can give me any feedback if you haven't done already. Here's the link to get booked in for your next appointment. I cannot wait to see you so straight away. That is so warm and friendly. It's encouraging the customer to come back. It's making the customer feel valued. It's also giving them the link to book again, giving them the link to leave a review and encouraging them to engage with you on social media, which is maybe where they found you in the first place or where some of your potential clients are also hanging out. So a great email to kind of tie their appointment experience up in a nice little bell. It also says to them like you've left the salon, but I haven't forgotten about yet. I really value you and I appreciate you coming and I'd really like you to come again. Okay, so you can write this out in your own words, but this is the second email that the customer gets sent. Again, it's automated so you write this once. Then everything else will be automated and will send out after the appointment once they have them being you can set a timer using your email marketing systems. This will be like mailchimp or, or sorry mailchimp or Mailerlite Flow Desk or one of those. You can set email so that they send on an automation depends on when they've been in your. In your sal. So it would trigger an automation once they've had that second email to say right then, now a customer, they have visited the salon, they've left the salon, they've had that email and now we want to send them a string more emails. So three more emails or four more emails, whatever that looks like for you in your sequence. So the next one might be nail treatments that you will love. So maybe this is an opportunity to share with them what else you do. So hey, I hope you're doing okay and you're still loving your nails. I just wanted to let you know some of our most loved treatments. So you know what else I offer here at such and such a salon because I know we had such a great time together. So the four top treatments that I am asked for is number one, my signature gel polish manicure. Number two, my luxury hand scrub and treatments at the end of an appointment. Number three, my luxury pedicure. Number four, the full experience if you wanted to go for that. Does any of them sound good? Here's the book and link. Either book in or upgrade your next treatment that you've already booked. Can't wait to welcome you back, Amy. Right straight away you are taking interest in these clients. You are letting them know I know you came in for this, but did you know I also do this. These are also what the rest of my client base are loving. This is also what I would love to provide for you. Things like luxury treatments. They might not have had the chance to have a luxury, a luxury treatment before or even know that you do that. So it's a duty of care of yours to tell your customers what else you offer in the next email. You could do a gift for them so if you notice that they haven't already booked their appointments or you could even add an automation so that if they haven't booked their next appointment and they haven't had their next reminder email, then we could send them this. So I hope this email finds you well. Just wanted to again extend my appreciation for choosing me by giving you an exclusive gift. As a first time client, I really want you to enjoy a free luxury handle foot scrub at the end of your next visit. So all you need to do is use this code. Here's the link to book in and it will add on that scrub. I cannot wait to see you again and give you that pamper that you really deserve. So again it's acknowledging them, it's showing loyalty to them, it's thanking them for their loyalty and it's given them a free gift. Who doesn't love a free gift and by doing this instead of a discount I find that it sometimes is more beneficial because once they've had that hand scrub or foot scrub once, they might decide that it's something they want to add to every treatment, which means then you're going to make more money long term because you'll have an additional add on at those appointments. So always lean into what you could maybe give that doesn't cost you much rather than reducing the cost of a treatment as a gift because like 10 off and stuff like that doesn't always entice people in and it just means you're losing money. Whereas this one might only take you a couple of minutes at the end and might gain you money in the long run. Email four products we think you'll love Hope you're still enjoying the benefits of your nails. Just wanted to share with you some of the products you might have seen at the till and maybe mentioned to us that you loved. I've also linked them on here so you can purchase them yourself or you can get them next time you're in the salon. Can't wait to see you. And here's the link to book if you haven't already booked your next treatment. So really casual, really relaxed, but again keeping in touch with your clients and giving them things that they might show an interest in and lastly inviting them into some kind of VIP situation. So you could say something like we know that you love it in our salon, we love having you. So as a valued member of our salon I really wanted to invite you into becoming a VIP with me. So this unlocks a world of benefits including priority booking members only offers birthday treats and you will be a beauty insider. So you'd be faced to know about all the tips, trends and things like that in our email that we send out every single month. All you need to do is reply to this email and our team will guide you through the process so then that can sign them up to a whole new email list that is your VIP customers. So they're the ones that really do want access to those priority bookings, to the offers, to birthday treats, being an insider and all of those things. So here is just a few ideas of what you could add into your nurture emails as a sequence once your customer leaves the salon. Now realistically what you want to have in your business, for every list you have within your emails you could have a nurture sequence. So if you just want one for all of your clients that come in, then set up one nature sequence. It would have a reminder email, it would have a thank you email, a review email in it and then maybe a couple of others showing. You know you don't need to include all those emails that I've just shared with you there, but there's just some ideas of what you could include over a three to four week process in that time where we would really want them to rebook you. Stay on top of mind, they're going to see you regularly in their inbox. You're going to be the first person they think of when they either want to book an appointment themselves or when someone says to them them, oh, do you know any nail techs? I'm really looking to find a new nail technician. If they just read one of your emails yesterday they are more likely to recommend you. Hopefully this was helpful. I want you to start thinking now about email sequences and nature sequence you could have in your business. And also because I really want to help you out with this, I have added some sequence templates for you later on in this section. So you can go and use my template if you really want to. If you can't think of what you'd like to include yourself.
