A short instructional video by Amy Guy showing how to calculate tool cost per usage for pricing. The presenter explains entering tool name, purchase price, optional shop/link, lifespan in months, and how the spreadsheet computes total uses and cost-per-use using example entries (cuticle pusher and dust extractor). The goal is to factor tool per-use cost into variable costs and pricing.

So now we come across the tools and we are going to work out how much our tools are costing us per usage, so we can factor them into our variable costs and factor them into our pricing. So what you want to do is take this list here. We have popped in some examples for you to make it a little bit easier. But you might have some extra tools that you use. You want to make sure that you don't add in any products or consumables. So products and consumables are on the next tab. You can have a little flick through them to see what we mean by that. But you just want to make sure you don't duplicate anything. So for this one, we're just focusing on tools, but if you've got any others, then feel free to add them in. There's plenty of space for you to do so. And then we just want to enter the information. So you want to first enter in how much your cuticle posture was. So let's say it was 20 pounds. There's also a space for you to enter the shop. It's quite nice for you to. Also, instead of the shop, you could just pop the link in here. And then when you do need to replenish your stock, it's a nice easy spreadsheet for you to just come to and click the link and it'll take you directly there rather than having to search online. And then you want to enter the lifespan. So this basically means how often do you have to replace it? So let's say you replace your cuticle pusher every 12 months, every year. So you just put 12 in here. And then it's going to tell you that based on the information that we input around how many clients we see, we get 864 uses out of the cuticle pusher, which means it's just 2 pence per usage. Okay. So then you can go down and fill the rest in. So I'm just going to give you another example. So let's say our dust extractor is 168 pounds. And let's say we have to replenish this every two years. So 24 months, that's telling us that we get 1728 uses per lifespan out of our dust extractor and it cost us 10 pence per usage. So you just want to go ahead and carry on and fill in all of the tools that you currently use and then we will go ahead and move on to the next one.
