A first-person interview (Ousman Umar with Oso Trava) describing Umar's migration from Ghana toward Libya via Niger. He recounts traveling atop a 40-foot truck loaded with salt—sleeping on the salt for nearly a month—reaching Niamey (Niger), being held/locked in a house for weeks by traffickers, then being moved in packed pickup vehicles and ultimately abandoned. Left on foot, a group of 46 began the desert trek; they encountered other groups' corpses, resources dwindled, and the group began to fracture under the Sahara's lethal conditions.
