Los 5 suplementos según la Dra Patricia Restrepo | Cracks Podcast

Dr. Patricia Restrepo explains why she chooses whole-food supplements from pastured animals over synthetic ones. She uses annual lab tests to guide what her patients need, and relies on glandular supplements and digestive enzymes for recovery and travel. She's been testing her own son since age 7.

I only make whole food supplements that come from clean food and crops. For example, glandular bile from animals that have been 100% pastured. Right. For example, bile that has come from an animal that has been 100% pastured, that has been exposed to light, sun, soil and water. Because if it was made synthetically in a laboratory, what light is there in an artificial laboratory? What life will that supplement have? Right. What artificial air, what's soil? It has not had contact with the soil, so. But I always believe that food comes first, then the supplement. And to answer that, yes, there are certain supplements that I use, taking great care with the quality. And what I do is that I do not take supplements because they are good, because there are many things that become fashionable and running is good for them. Yes, it depends on who you are. If you have broken ankles, running is good for you. Right. So I always ask myself those questions and my children challenge me these days. And there are some studies that I do once a year, which I started doing, since they were the ones that helped me a lot with my son, which are studies of cellular metabolism, neurohormones, microbiota and digestive functions. What studies are they and where do you do them in the United States? Ah, I do them through the Miami offices and they are sent to laboratories in the United States. And it is like turning on the body's gps. I love it. And do they have a particular name? Yes, cellular metabolism, neurohormones and microbio. There are many laboratories that do them. The micro beta 1 is increasingly more, but the cellular metabolism 1 looks at 79 metabolic functions of how the body is making and using energy. So. And those were the ones I did on my son back then, after seeing the images of his brain. So we have been doing them since he was 7 years old. And it is the family plan to see what we are going to do for their health this year, what else we can do to improve. According to the results of those labs, there are supplements that I have taken accordingly. For example, this year one of the things I have done the most is digestive enzyme cycles, because I have seen that with so much traveling, enzyme production travels. Traveling is stressful, but it is part of what gives me quality of life. So we are not going to stop traveling because of that, but we are going to support and take care of my body. What else am I taking now I have taken. I had two knee and leg accidents on one occasion, I damaged both legs, the other one. And I have had two leg surgeries. And so I have done several things. And several of the supplements that I have taken have been directed pre surgical or post surgical and for tissue regeneration. So at the moment, I am also taking a multiglandular from grazing animals as a proactive support for the areas of opportunity that I saw. So, yes, a supplement I had not heard of. Multiglandular. Yeah, it's a very ancestral way called protomorphanes therapy, which is how one species helps another species.
