When someone says feedback like "I just don't like it," ask what specifically bothers them. Suggest concrete elements: text, imagery, layout, colors. This helps them pinpoint the real problem so you can fix it instead of redesigning everything.

How do you handle vague feedback like, "It just doesn't feel right." "It just doesn't feel right. I don't like it. It just doesn't feel right." Yeah, I usually ask, like I follow up, "What about it doesn't feel right? How about—" and I'll like, sometimes people go, "I don't know. Like, I'm just not— it doesn't feel right." So to me, I'll start, I'll kind of help them out. Like, is it around this part? Is it the text? Because sometimes it's because they don't know how to properly describe what isn't feeling right. So sometimes if you go and redesign that whole thing, you might be missing exactly what it is that they didn't like. So they might say the text, like, is it the wording here? Is it the imagery? Is it the layout? Is it the branding? Is it the colors? So when you start giving them more detail or, or words to use to kind of describe what doesn't feel right, you get more description from them around what doesn't feel right. And then from there you can start adjusting. You kind of have to be a detective and figure out the clues to what they're trying to say and put together, but once you can figure that out, you can start pinpointing and you can leverage why you've made that decision or why that does work or things like that, but it becomes a more educated discussion.
