Okay, ladies and gentlemen, we have a found child that is Her name is Lizzie. She says that she is missing her Aunt Mari, who is wearing a green shirt. Lizzie has blue denim dress, red shirt, white polka dots, and brown boots. Uh, if you know this girl or know anybody by the name Mari, please come and find any officer of Unified Police Department Command Post located at the northeast lower field. Thank you.
Yeah. Thank you, thank you everybody. Welcome to Harriman Town Days.
We got a great crowd here tonight. We are the Harriman Harmonics. We've put together a few fun songs for you, so we hope you'll stay with us tonight and have some fun with us. We're really pumped to present tonight. I hope you enjoy. And with that, Marcella, let's get it started.
All right, so for this next number, we're going to need help from you, the audience. So can I get a stomp stomp clap? Come on, don't be shy. All right. Sahani, that was fun so far. That's not all. Take it, Crystal. We will rock you. We will, we will rock you. Funny old drummer, all that time in the street called Piccadilly. The world's on tango, but all it takes is a big twist twist. Bringing your terror all over the place. We will, we will rock you. We are the champions, those that are the losers, as we become the champions of the world. So for those of you who made it to our Valentine's Cabaret this past February, we do it annually, and we did this song just a little bit different. It was more zombie style.
Yes, we I love the zombie lyrics better. Yeah, but either way, I'm gonna sing solo, so it's all right. Yes, Rob, yes. So anyway, those of you who don't know about our collaboration, we do one every year during February, uh, around Valentine's Day. Last year's show obviously was about zombies, in particular finding love during a zombie apocalypse. We do this every year. The last 2 years we've sold out every show. You can get tickets on Herrmann Arts website, and this next show that we do is going to be the best one yet. So make sure you— yeah, it's going to be Gilligan's Island. Like, it's going to be Gilligan's Island. I mean, they would have found out eventually anyways, right? I mean, it's just like, you know, everybody knows that new Star Wars movie that Han Solo— all right, back in line there, Gilligan. Anyway, we're the Harriman Harmonics. I think now is a good time to give some introductions. My name is Don. I'm the president of the group. I sing bass and do a little vocal percussion. Right here we've got Nate. Nate's that deep grumbling noise that you'll hear up here on stage. He's one of the original members of the group when it started way back in 2010. Moving down the line, we have— wait, Don, you forgot me. Oh yeah, that's right, this is Rob. Okay, moving down the line, we have Brent. Brent is another one of the founding members, and he sings tenor 2 on that last song because he couldn't quite reach the high notes. Oh yeah, you're right, you're right, you can bend down and give him a hug if you want. Just kidding. All right, moving along, we've got Andy. Andy sings baritone and a couple other parts. We've got our altos. Mikayla, and, and then we have Deb. Deb is another one of the original members. She's been here a while.
We love her.
Next we have Marcella. She's our music director. And lastly, we have our soprano, Cole, and Liz. Liz is our newest member of the group, but as a matter of fact, if you come over here, this is her final audition. Depending on how she does tonight will determine whether she stays in the group. So anyway, that's it.
Good luck. I thought I was already in.
Well, no, this is the way we do it. As a matter of fact, why don't you introduce the next song and put some pizzazz on it because your presentation will be judged.
Good luck. This next song is by an English indie rock band called Bastille. This is Pompeii. To my own devices. Many days fell away with nothing to show, and the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love. Bring out all the ladies, bring out the But if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing changed at all? If you close your eyes, does it almost feel like you're dead and gone? How do you feel, Mr. Lopez? How do you feel, Mr. Lopez? We were cold and lost, we know love our vices. The bones as the dust settles around us and the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love. Breathe out from all the hills, breathe out this goodbye. But if you close your eyes, the golden emeralds fade out, nothing will change at all when you Well, wait a second, Marcel, did you say you studied Juilliard? No, my neighbor Julie. Her acoustics in her backyard are amazing.
Oh, Julie's yard.
Oh, okay.
Hey, hey, Don, I got a solo on that one too.
You did? I didn't even know you were still here.
It was awesome.
Hey, Don, do you remember backstage before we came on, you were telling me that you can do some musical impersonations?
Oh, absolutely.
I mean, I know you're You're very talented, but do you really have what it takes to match Neil Diamond's velvety voice?
Let's make this interesting. We're gonna sing Sweet Caroline, and if these guys like my impression of Neil, you'll be buying ice cream for everyone. No, no, Andy, just for me. Now get back in line. At least I tried. Now for this next number, I have to warn you that I brought my Neil Diamond blade. I'm going to need some audience participation on this one. If you've ever been to a sporting event or a Neil Diamond concert, you'll know exactly what to do when the time comes. So with that, Sweet Caroline. Where it began, I can't begin to know it, but then I know it's going strong. Was in the spring And spring became the summer. Who'd have believed you'd come along? Hand touching hand, reaching out, touching me, touching you.
Oh, sweet cat. Good times never seemed so good, so good, so good, so good.
Too busy, they never would, but now I do. Look at the night, and it don't seem so lonely. We fill it up with only you. And when I hurt, burden rolls off my shoulders. How can I hurt when holding you?
One, touching one. Reaching out, touching me, touching you. Oh, sweet Caroline. Good times have never seemed so good, so good, so good, so good. I've been inclined. —to believe they never would go. No, no.
All right, you guys are doing great. We're coming up for the last chorus, so I need everybody, wherever you are, to join in.
Let's raise the roof. Here we go. Sweet Caroline, good times never seemed so good. Oh, I've been inclined to believe in miracles. One more time. Oh, sweet Caroline, good times never seemed so good. So good, so good, so good. Oh, I've been inclined to believe in You know what they say, Goddard, the taller they are, the harder they fall. So, audience, what do you think of Neil Diamond impression there?
You owe me ice cream. I'll take a tutti frutti with sprinkles on top. Thank you very much. A deal is a deal, Neil.
We're coming to America. Now, before Don's head gets too big to fit on the stage, we are going to take this down a notch and sing "Pump It Up" next week. When you feel so tired but you can't sleep, stuck in reverse, and the tears come streaming down your face when you lose something you can't replace, when I love someone, but it goes to waste. Could it be Wes? Our lights will guide you home and ignite your fire. And I will try to fix you. And high up above or down below, when you're too in love to let it go. But if you never try, you never know just what you're worth. A light will guide you home and ignite your bones. And I will try to fix you. Tears stream down your face when you lose something you cannot replace. Tears stream down your face without a— Tears stream down your face. I promise you I will learn from my mistakes. Tears stream down your face and I— Life will guide you home and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you.
That was awesome, kids. I really like that song. I just can't get over how awesome Don Smith Ironworks is. Give it up for Don again. But Don may have some talents, but you know, I can do some cool stuff too. I mean, back in the day, before I got married, before I had kids, I had quite a wicked awesome fro, you know. No, really. I mean, back in the early, early '80s, I was quite the grandmaster of funk. I mean, can't you just tell by looking at me? Wait, is it like when you were 5?
Yeah, well, just check this out. All right, all right, let the boots sit in your shoes, so stand up.
All right, all right, come and tell us what you can do with my love.
All right, all right, just do what you say. That was our last song, this group, In the Fire. We hope you liked it, and if you want to hear more from us, you can book us at your next party or Christmas events or bar mitzvah or whatever. And don't forget about our Valentine's very next year. Now stick around, who's up next? It's the amazing Motown Sound. Thank you.
