book by Carey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell, and music and lyrics by Carey and Lane Kirkpatrick. The story takes place in 1595 and follows the Bottom brothers Nick and Nigel, who are struggling to become successful in the theatrical world due to competition with the famous, world-renowned William Shakespeare. Nigel, a sweet and naive, perhaps a little awkward writer and poet played by Jimmy Empie, sits down in an effort to write a new play. Portia, a quirky and eccentric, also perhaps a little awkward Puritan woman played by Mia Bagley, sneaks out to see Nigel and they discover how much they have in common, especially their love for poetry. We now present "I Love the Way" from Something Rhyme.
I love Sidney and Marlowe, and often I borrow their words to express how I feel. I love poems of mystery To read fantasy history, oh, what seductive appeal. At night, alone in my bed, satisfied in my need, the candlelight fire ignites my desire to read. Oh, every time I hear a perfect rhyme, I get all tingly because I know Oh, that's quite perfect, right? Is that an easy thing to leave? I love the places that words let me go. I love the way that your words move me so. No words can touch me the way that yours do. Things I love. You are really doing something to me, Mr. Poetry Man!
Oh, forgive me!
I never get to discuss poems in this way! It's okay!
I just never knew that poetry could affect someone the way it affects me! Me neither! It's the end-all, the be-all, though you wanna see all the books that I have on my shelf.
Me too! I find pleasure perusing those writings and musings so often I pleasure myself. Wait, that didn't sound right.
No, I know what you mean. When I'm deep in the throes of impassionate throes, I could scream. You scream so much!
I know! I love a multi-line lyrical alliteration.
Who doesn't love alliteration? I know!
When the rhymes come together like a consummation.
Stimulation! I love the way you never let me know.
I love the way that your words will be so. I love that you feel the same way I do. And I love you know that I love.
