Noah Hilker performs "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen, the musical about an anxious teenager. Multiple voices layer together singing "you will be found" and "you are not alone," building a communal chant that transforms isolation into connection.
A new Broadway musical opened November 14th, 2016. In the song "You Will Be Found," Evan Hansen, played by Noah Hilker, a young high schooler who struggles with an anxiety disorder, sings about being lonely and how one friendship can change it all.
Have you ever felt like nobody was there? Have you ever felt forgotten in the middle of nowhere? Have you ever felt like you could disappear? Like you could fall and no one would hear? So let that lonely feeling wash away. Maybe there's a reason to believe you'll be okay. Because when you don't feel strong enough to stand, you can reach. Reach out your hand, and oh, someone will come running, and I know they'll take you home. Even when the dark comes crashing through, when you need a friend to carry you, and when you're broken on the ground, You will be found. So let the sun come streaming in, 'cause you'll reach up and you'll rise again. Lift your head and look around. You will be found. You will be found. You will be found. You will be found.
You will be found.
There's a place where we don't have to play all unknown.
Every time that you call out, you're a little less alone.
If you only say a word.
From across the Silence, your voice is heard. Someone will run in. Someone will run in. Someone will run in to take you home. Take it home. Even when the dark is crashing through, when you need a friend to carry you, when you're broken on the ground, you will be found. So let the sun come streaming in, 'cause you'll reach up and you'll rise again. If you only look around, you will be found. Out of the shadows, the morning is breaking and all is new, all is new. He's filling up the empty, suddenly I see that all is new, all God is here. You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not— you are not alone. Even when the dark comes crashing through, when you need someone to carry you, When you're broken on the ground, you will be proud. If you'll reach up and you'll rise again, if you won't be blown around, you will be proud. You will be proud. You will be proud.
You will be found.
You will be found.
