Hey there. Hey. How are you? Good. Are you. You're still traveling, are you? Yeah, I'm in Kansas City. We golfed Friday and Saturday and then gonna work here for the week. Nice. Nice. How was golf? It was fun. It was fun. It was the first day, though. It's been so wet down here. We. We had. Can it have carts? It's cart path only. Oh. It's very hilly and it beat me up. Better than walking, though, right? Slightly. There's a lot. Slightly better. Isn't it funny when you, like, come across, like, all the mud and stuff, it's like you're it. It's almost like, did we go golfing or did we go four wheeling? Yeah, exactly. Bryce. Bryce was in a golf tournament this weekend, and he was even. So he did. He did really well. But he had a partner that was not as experienced, and so they ended up third in their flight. But they had a lot of fun. Yeah, they are fun. Different formats. Yeah. Hello. Hello. Hello. Let everyone in here. Brent, I haven't seen you in a while.
Hi. Yeah, I've. I've been here and there.
How's it going?
It's going all right. You know, just getting ready for the summer and just, you know, just trying to be more proactive in my life and make some good changes.
Awesome. That's always a good thing.
Definitely.
Hi, Anna. I wonder if Gracie's joining us from her car. She's got her camera off and she's not here, so I don't think. Nope. Hey, Kara. Hey. Morning. You sound tired.
Oh, yeah, I got sick last week, so I'm kind of still fighting it.
Oh, no. Yeah.
Plus my family's in town, so we did a bunch of stuff, so.
Yeah. Tired. Yeah.
We went to the Philadelphia Zoo yesterday and saw the seven new baby Galapagos tortoises.
Oh, how was that?
Oh, they were so cute. One flipped himself over and, you know, he had to sit there and think about his actions for a while, figure it out before they intervened. But it was really cute.
Well, so cool. All right. Why do I have a little warning on my recording button? That's weird. Okay, we will go ahead and get started and I'll just keep letting people in as they come. I'm going to just share my screen for a minute. Okay, so this is. The call that we're doing right now is considered the reset call. And we call it a reset because every single week, we want to support you in setting up your week in a very intentional way. And the way we do that is by using the becoming self made goal planner. If you don't have one, we do have worksheets inside of both memberships. I recommend getting the book because it is something that is so comprehensive. It has not only the place where you're going to store the goals that you've set for the next three months, it has, it has different graphs like you're seeing here, like you're seeing here that's helping you identify the emotions that are driving the behaviors. So it can be a very powerful resource, like a very easy go to for you versus having work trying to protect. Oh, there we go. Okay. It becomes a very easy resource for you when it's all, you know, contained in one place versus having some of these things on worksheets that only exist in your computer. So just going to take you to the very front of this. So this book has step by step instructions so that if you wanted to try to figure this out on your own, it's entirely possible. I recommend coming to these calls because we literally hold your hand through the weekly and daily part, the accountability component of this book so that you don't have to feel confused, you don't have to wonder if you're doing it right. We actually do this every single week with you. So if you remember two weeks ago, I kind of went back to one of the fundamentals which is having an awareness of your self sabotaging feelings. So we primarily worked on this two page spread. This is the core of, of what it is that it's the very first step that you need to take to be able to become intentional. Self sabotaging feelings are typically being driven from unintentional, unintentional thoughts. Okay, so many of us think that we are bad or we are broken or we are unworthy because we're fe feeling guilty, we're feeling frustrated, we're feeling vulnerable. We actually compound the destructive nature of those emotions by making those emotions mean something. When in reality you're having these unintentional thoughts, you're kind of spiraling on these beliefs that maybe were like, you know, fed to you as a small child. You had no other choice but to believe them because they were taught to you by an authority figure. Maybe you interpreted something that it actually, that wasn't the way it was meant to be received, but as a child you interpreted it that way and you have forevermore believed that like interpretation and you had no idea until maybe now how destructive that interpretation, that belief actually is. So very unintentional, but very, very destructive. So this two page Spread is to heighten your awareness around the self sabotaging feelings that drive self sabotaging results in your life. It all starts right here. So so many other coaches will focus in on the actions. We are human doers, we're always wanting to know how to do something. And although your actions do ultimately create your results, if you don't get to the root cause of what is driving those actions, the emotions and the thoughts that are creating those emotions, your actions will never be sustainable. They'll be one off actions. And so for people like you, who have specific goals, whether those are goals, professional goals, those are relationship goals, those are financial goals, health and wellness goals, if it doesn't matter, but if you have a desire or you have a goal, you want to make sure that the actions you're taking are sustainable. They're not just one off. We've spent our whole life taking one off type actions and most of us can agree that that does not create the kind of results that we're looking for. And all of this is entirely within your control. But you have to understand how the root cause of what creates sustainable results. That's why we spend so much time on this section of having a heightened sense of awareness around these self sabotaging feelings. Because if you don't have an awareness, you'll never be able to use it as an indicator to roll up your sleeves and do the work. So two weeks ago we spent quite a bit of time on this two page spread. So if you weren't here for that call, I recommend going back into the membership. Both memberships have the recording inside the community. Okay, so it was, I think it was a really good call that took you step by step by step of understanding what self sabotaging feelings are, where they come from and what they're responsible for. Ultimately they are the cause of your self sabotaging results. Once you have an awareness of these thoughts and these feelings, now you can be intentional, now you can choose thoughts that will actually change your emotional state and change your outcomes. You can't do it without the awareness. So that's why these two pages doing this exercise is so incredibly important. So the exercise, if you didn't do it or if you weren't on that call, the exercise was to create, to really fill in the blanks here of the thoughts that are driving your very personal self sabotaging feelings. We all have them. I gave you a kind of a inside look at what thoughts are creating my self sabotaging feelings, but it's going to be different for everyone. So I wanted you to collect the thoughts, the unintentional thoughts that are driving your personal self sabotaging feelings. Doing this work one time can be absolutely life changing. So if you haven't done this, I highly recommend taking the time to ask yourself, what are the thoughts? What are the unintentional thoughts? What are the beliefs that are driving my self sabotaging behaviors? Okay, so that's going to heighten your awareness. When you heighten your awareness, you can now have a choice. You can ask yourself, do I want to continue feeling that way? Most of us are going to answer that with a resounding no. I don't want to keep feeling that way. Either I'm tired of feeling that way or I'm tired of getting these kind of results or I want better for myself. And here's how you take that next step. Okay, so from the awareness you ask yourself, do I want a different feeling? Do I want a different result? The answer is probably yes. So here's how you get the different feelings and the different results. You become aware of the self made feelings that are available to you. Now this is a very small sampling. There are hundreds of thousands of emotions out there that will drive behaviors that are motivating type behaviors. These were the ones that I find are most helpful for me. And so I gave you the primary feeling, gratitude. Secondary to that is appreciation and thankfulness. The thought that creates these emotions for me is I'm deeply thankful for all of the blessings in my life, but I want to know what thought creates that feeling for you. Okay, so if you haven't yet done this page inside your book, I want you to take the time because this page will become a very frequent reference tool for you. You do it once and you can come back and ask yourself, what is the belief that creates empathy in my life? What's the belief that creates curiosity in my life? What's the belief that's going to create courage for me today? You do this exercise once and you can come back and reference it on a daily basis so that you don't have to keep recreating the wheel. But I do want you to fill this in because on a daily basis we create our schedule. We write down all the commitments that we have for the day. We pick three events that we've committed to and then we decide with intention how it is we're going to feel so that we drive a result that we want. Okay? So preparing a business report to most of us doesn't sound like fun. A lot of Us would probably, if we had that on our calendar, we'd probably dread it. And when you're operating from a place of dread, I would argue the quality of this business report is probably not going to be optimal. So this might be something. Even though it's nothing exciting, but because ultimately we want to have a satisfying day, we want to create quality from our life, we intentionally decide how we're going to feel about this. Okay, it might be something super insignificant. Maybe you're choosing head to work. Maybe you're somebody that is caught up in a ton of traffic and you realize the rage that goes through your body for 45 minutes every single morning. By the time you get to work, you're so like wired up because of the rage. Like that's worth deciding ahead of time how you want to feel while in traffic. Because if you don't decide intentionally, you will decide unintentionally. And I promise you it has resounding effects on your day, on your week, on your life. So we're not asking you to do any sort of rocket science here. This is literally deciding which events do I want to intentionally create from. Okay, so in this example, on this day, meeting with the team, how do you want to feel? You're deciding ahead of time. You're not deciding in the moment, you're deciding ahead of time. How do you want to feel about meeting with your team? Confident. And here's where this page becomes your reference tool. You want to feel confident or empowered or self assured. I have everything I need within me to succeed, or whatever your customized personalized thought was. And then you simply write that here. Now maybe it gets tweaked a little bit. Maybe on this day a better idea, a better feeling thought comes to mind. That's fine. You want to capture it here. This is what it looks like to take control of your day, literally hour by hour by hour. Every one of these, you can decide ahead of time how it is you want to feel. And I want to underscore ahead of time. That's why we do this at the start of our day. And even the most insignificant events are worthy of a decision about how it is that you want to feel. Because if you don't decide, you will unintentionally be operating probably from a self sabotaging belief. It's something that is so deeply, like subconscious, you don't even recognize that that's what you're operating from. And you don't have to do the work to uncover what it is that you're thinking and Feeling when you're being unintentional, that really isn't that important. What's so much more important is looking ahead and making the decision with intention. Does anybody have any questions on that? Is it very, very clear as mu. Has anybody had any aha's since our last meeting on the self sabotaging feelings that you're experiencing? I gotta get to my, I gotta get to my other screen here. Stop the share. There we go. Okay, here's why I'm asking that question. Has anybody had any aha? Because this is an exercise in better understanding yourself so that you aren't compounding the negative emotions with negative meanings about why you're experiencing that emotion. You're having that emotion because you're human, because you're unintentionally believing something. And I will be the first to admit that those beliefs can be so deeply rooted that it can be hard to think anything else to believe anything else. And that's where having a resource like a coach or a group coaching session that you can attend becomes really helpful. Gracie and I have been talking a lot about this in the context of her membership. My membership, we do a ton of coaching. That's pretty much all we do. It's just tons and tons of coaching. Her membership has a lot of like tactical advice because it's around dating and there are so many best practices with Dean. And so she can dole out all the best practices, but without the coaching, without the changing of the limiting beliefs that are going on, those best practices are not going to, are not going to probably get sustainable results. They'll be the one off best practice. And because it's not a best practice that's sustainable, it's not going to get the kind of results that you want. So the conversation that Gracie and I keep having is how important the coaching is. So many people think about coaching in the kind of the context of therapy and I want to explain the difference. Therapy is typically looking backwards. It's trying to help you un, unwind and understand the past, why certain things happened, why you had thoughts and feelings about those things. Therefore you got the results that you got. Okay? It spends a ton of time in the past and that can be really helpful, especially with people who are dealing with trauma because trauma is typically unprocessed feelings. So therapy can help you process those feelings around events that happened in the past. Coaching is a look into the future. It's helping you be accountable for the best practices, especially at the level of your mind that are going to change the results or get you your desires, whatever those desires are, whatever those goals are, whatever it is that you want to achieve. Coaching is going to help you fundamentally at the ground level, create a process that is going to get you there. But the process is much different than just following best practices. It's actually starting at the level of your mind, understanding what has been driving your behaviors, asking you the question, do you want to continue to think and feel that way? And if the answer is no, holding your hand through the process of replacing those well driven neural pathways, replacing those limiting beliefs, replacing the self sabotaging behavior, and therefore replacing the results that you're getting with self made results, very intentional results. Because you're engaging in a very intentional process. So our overarching process, it starts with deciding what it is that you want, what are your goals? Do you have relationship goals? Do you have professional goals? Do you have health and wellness goals? Do you have financial goals? We probably all say yes to all of those. But what matters most right now, or another way to ask that question, is which area of your life are you least satisfied with? So this book takes you through the assessment of your life. It looks at eight different categories and it helps you define which area you're least satisfied with so that you can focus on that area and create a handful of goals that you will work towards for the next three months. The book is a three month book. And then every week we keep our finger on the pulse of what it is that we decided we wanted from a goal standpoint. We look at what does the week have in store for us, what are the commitments that I have on my calendar? What are the things in addition to my goals that I want to accomplish. So we go through this weekly intention every single week and that's going to drive our daily actions. And the most important action again is deciding how it is that we want to feel ahead of time. Okay, so that brings us back to what this two page spread or I guess the daily planner, how important this daily planner actually is. And then at the end of the week, at the end of every seven days, we reflect on, on what worked, what didn't work, and what we'll do different next week so that we're setting ourselves up for success as we go back into the next weekly intention. Any questions on that? Is anybody using this right now and having any sort of obstacles or having success? Don't be afraid.
I've definitely been using the book. I need to get a new one next week. But. But yeah, I mean it helps me to stay focused like, one of my consistent goals that I've continue to hit is at my job, getting the, the five rentals that, you know, that I've set out every week. I mean, it may not happen every week, but at least gives me a direction or objective to hit. But when it comes to like my dating, it does help because it does, like I said, it gives me direction. I mean, I always hit it all the time, but I know kind of where I'm heading.
Yeah. Okay, so give me an idea, Brent, on what does. What do these weekly intentions look like for you? Do you have one that says work, one that says dating?
No. Well, I mean, I think, I think it's an unspoken, I guess, intention. Like, I try to hit different areas, like with work, with dating, sometimes even with like social relationships. So one, one of those goals is like, I want to have like two, like, I guess conversations with like, people that aren't like shallow, but it's more of like kind of like, I guess a mentoring type conversation just so I can continue to, to grow my mind.
Okay, so I just want to show you what that could look like. Share my screen again. If we were using this sheet to really shoot, to really maximize your goals. So here we would put your career or work. Here we would put dating. Here we would put social life. And now with the work, you know, your goal is. Did you say five rentals?
Yeah, five. Yeah, five rentals.
Okay, so now the question that you ask that's going to help you fill out these lines is if I was watching somebody else do that, what would I see them do? Like, what are the important steps even broken down into like, the microscopic, like, actions? But what are the executables that need to be done to get five rentals every single week? Do you know what that is?
Well, I mean, throughout the weeks I'm getting a better idea by feedback and my mistakes. So like, I mean, some, some of the, the steps is like following up with my leads regularly or, you know, listening or watching other sales people and like, their techniques.
Okay, so the first line would say, follow up on last week's leads. The next line is going to say get feedback from my mentors. The next line might have something a little bit more task oriented, like make 25 calls. The next line might say, I don't know, you know, doing something that's lead generating. Right, right. This is how you're actually going to make progress. These are the actions, these are the tact that or the best practices that are going to get you closer to getting five Rentals every single week. Now, over here, the next goal you had was your dating life. These actions need to be. What are the best practices that I need to be taking to go on a date this week or to set up a date this week? It's, you know, maybe watching one of the approaching women modules, or maybe it is going to a group coaching call, or maybe it's spending an hour on the dating apps, or maybe it's taking a screenshot of a conversation that you're having with somebody from a dating app and, and sending it to Gracie for feedback. Or, or, or, or like, there's all these best practices that are going to get you closer to achieving that goal of setting up a date this weekend or this week. But if you don't take the time, you guys, to fill out, what are the steps, they stay very confusing and abstract and they stay in your head. And then that gets kind of cluttered and chaotic and it. And it makes it way more difficult to actually, like, proceed towards achieving this goal because especially if you've got four goals. So, like, Brent started, he's like, it's the unspoken. And I think what he meant is, it's like, it's the unwritten. And I promise you, you guys, if you follow this process, it becomes so much more simple. You don't have any guessing. You could actually, especially those of you who have hired coaches, you can take a screenshot of this. If you've hired a coach in the dating category or you've hired a coach in your professional life or you have a mentor, take a screenshot of this and say, what am I missing? Is there anything that I'm missing? Like, this is your playbook right here for the week. The actions that you need to take to get closer to those goals, to the things that you decided mattered to you. So don't skip this page. It's so important, and it's meant to keep your finger on the pulse of your goals. And it can. I get it. It can be very easy to skip this and just get on to the day. We all want to do that. We all want to just focus on today and just get through it. But that thought or that belief of let's just get through it is so sabotaging because you're not enjoying the journey, and that's what life is actually about. So that's why we've armed you with those charts that offer you suggested feelings. They're going to help you achieve what it is in a way that's very enjoyable. That's very Satisfying. But you've got to make that decision ahead of time. When you're in the moment, when you get to 8:30, when it's time to prepare that business report and you haven't decided ahead of time that you want to feel confident about it, I promise you, you're probably going to be feeling the dread. And the dread is what's going to drive the behaviors of preparing that report. So why not do yourself a solid and decide ahead of time? It is a no fail approach, but it's also a very unconventional approach. It's not intuitive. Most human beings are not going to default to this way of planning out their day. They stop at the what is it that I have to do? Where am I supposed to be at what time? That's where they stop. And I promise you, if you choose three events from your schedule and decide ahead of time how it is that you want to feel and what it is that you would have to be believing in order to feel this way, it's a game changer. So I like to schedule these actions that we have decided we need to take. I like to schedule them. So if I know that I'm trying to create this project proposal and I need to get some research done, I will make sure that that gets scheduled into a day in my upcoming week. Because. Because if I don't schedule it, it's very unlikely to happen. Why is this not so? I will look at my daily schedule. I typically schedule out my whole week. I have reoccurring events. I know ahead of time what the things I've committed. So I will schedule a full week ahead of time, knowing that things are likely going to pop up, things are likely going to change. But those actions that I've listed that are going to get me closer to my goal, if they don't hit my schedule and they just kind of fall down here to a to do. I know myself well enough to know it's probably not going to get done. So I find the white space in my day and I schedule those actions. I've already done myself the favor of figuring out what exactly needs to be done. You can't let it sit there. You've got to take one more step and actually get it scheduled. Because then when it falls into this schedule now, it becomes something that you can choose intentionally to think and feel in a way that's going to create progress. Any questions on that? Anybody have something in their day today? Like here's mine, I've already done all of the exercises. Anybody have anything today that they haven't yet decided how it is that they want to think and feel because I can help you come up with that. That's what a coach does best. We call this what I've just taught you, self coaching. And sometimes when you're too close to it, when you're. When your primitive brain is saying there are no other options, there's nothing else to think, this is what you have to think about this event. It can be really hard to come up with a better feeling thought. And that's what a coach does best. So take advantage of this time. If anybody has an event today, tomorrow that they want coaching on, now's your. Now's your chance. It is definitely a Monday. So I have on my schedule my events. I picked for event one, I picked this call and I also picked my noon call. So I've got the reset call. And then at noon I have a coach call. And I asked myself, how do I want to feel? I'm deciding ahead of time. I did this work a couple hours ago, ask myself, how do I want to feel at that time at 9am and at noon? And I came up with confident. I came up with that by looking at this bookmark. I literally perused the emotions that are all available to me and thought to myself, which one do I want to feel confident? And so all I do is I turn over and there is a suggested. A suggested thought. Now this is also inside the book. There is also the chart that we went over at the beginning of the call that gives you a suggested thought. I have everything I need within me to succeed. And so I decided I wanted to feel confident. That's what goes on that line. How do you want to feel? What am I going to be believing to create that feeling? I have everything I need within me to succeed. And I just kind of pause there and I let my mind kind of settle on that. I often ask myself, like, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do I believe that? I kind of check my work because this is not an exercise of affirmations. This is an exercise of understanding yourself and what it is that you believe and intentionally getting your finger on the pulse of that belief. It's connecting your thoughts, your feelings and your behaviors with intention. Okay, so if you're going through this exercise and just kind of checking the boxes and you're not really leaning in to the emotions that you want to create, it's probably not going to be as effective as if you actually paused and thought about, okay, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do I really believe that? And if the answer is like a 5, then tweak the thought. You can ladder up. It's possible that I have all the things within me to feel successful. How much do I believe that? I believe that more than I believe that I actually do have all things. Maybe I'm not there yet. And then my second event was. Is recording the podcast. You guys have heard this over and over and over because my Mondays are just kind of rinse and repeat. And I want to feel abundant and creative. And the belief that creates a feeling of creativity is new ideas flow effortlessly. And I had to sit there and ask myself, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do I believe that? What does it feel like? Like, where do I feel creative? What does that feel like? And I lean into that. I allow that feeling to kind of overcome me. Feelings drive behavior. So it's a feeling, it's a vibration that we're going for. Not just a word on a line. It's a vibration, it's an experience that we're going for. And then I have a strength class tonight that I'm taking at 5:30 that I've never been to before. And I noticed I was kind of nervous about it and my mind was starting to spiral. I'm like, how do I want to feel? I want to feel enthusiastic. And what belief is going to generate that enthusiasm? I'm excited about the possibilities. I'm so excited about the possibility of becoming strong. I am so excited about that. I have to, like, tether myself to that belief because my primitive brain is going to be telling me, you don't belong there. These are all. This class is for all the strong people. You're not strong. Right? Like, I have to do the work to tether myself to that belief of. I'm excited about the possibility of becoming stronger. I have to keep reminding myself of that. That's what it looks like to decide ahead of time so that I curate a very satisfying day. Any questions? Does anybody want help applying this concept to your day?
I had a quick comment on that. Hopefully it will help others because it's kind of clicking in my mind. You mentioned earlier about like the weekly intentions and how like, the way you fill it out is you look at somebody, you're like, what would they do? Or like, yeah, what, what, what, what executionable things do they do to. To kind of inspire you to. To kind of know what steps to take. And I think it's a similar thing with these events where you're like, well, like, let's take like Tony Robbins or somebody, like, what does Tony Robbins think about this event? Or like, how would he feel about this situation? And it, it challenges a lot of the self sabotaging or negative thoughts that we may have towards something. Because at one point or another there's been somebody that is in the position that you want to be and it's like by, by, I guess, kind of mimicking them or, or even like, yeah, how they feel or whatever. Like that's a way to kind of see outside of your shoes and realize that there is a way to feel or think that will bring the success that you want.
Yeah, that is an excellent, excellent point, Brent. I think that starting with how would this person think and feel? What would this person be doing? Somebody that you admire, somebody that has gotten proven results, I think is an excellent strategy. Where that will get you is to the place where you're asking yourself, how do I want to feel? And I can completely relate to you. Like there, when I was in my weight loss journey, I never believed that weight loss was available to me. Like, I thought everybody else could lose weight, but not me. And so I would have to like, what have they done to lose the weight? What were they thinking and feeling and really like honing in on that. They probably were not doubting themselves. They were probably thinking, this isn't rocket science. It's you eat less and you, when you are eating, you're eating the more nutrient dense foods. That's what they're thinking. They're not making this into a real big dramatic thing like I am. And so I had to kind of use somebody else as the inspiration until I started realizing, oh my God, I am them. I'm totally them. Now I've lost five pounds and I've lost ten pounds and I've lost fifty pounds. And it's like, oh, now I am that person. And now I can decide how I want to feel. I don't have to ask myself, how are they feeling? Now I get to choose. That's where the empowerment starts to come in, is when you get to that place where you're like, my ideas, my thoughts, my feelings are just as important and are just as productive as Tony Robbins. And so asking yourself, how do I want to feel? What is it that I believe that generates that feeling becomes like over the top empowering. It's when you really start to realize how much choice you have. So I agree with you 100%. And I was there for a really long period of time, especially in my weight loss journey where I just didn't believe that permanent weight loss was available to me. And so I did use other people as like my source of inspiration. Now today I see what was happening and I feel so much more worthy of being this weight. And I realized how much drama, how much primitive brain self sabotaging thinking was going on. And I actually have a ton of empathy for that person who suffered so much. And now I like give back to myself in a way that feels so empowering and I feel so much more worthy and valuable. And now I ask myself, how do I want to feel? Why do I want to feel that way? Like it's all up to me, it's all my choice. Nobody else gets to decide that. But it also puts me on the hook. It makes me responsible for actually doing this work, for recognizing it's work. I'm not going to lie to anybody, this is work. But if you want to become a self made person and you want to achieve all of your desires, you'll do it. And we're here to just show you guys the steps on how to get there and to be a place of accountability. That's why we created this book so that you have the weekly and daily accountability. This is just a tool and that's why today's call and two weeks ago the call was really more of an overview to really help you understand kind of conceptually why we created this book the way we did and how to use it in the most effective way. I would say, you know, this is hand in glove with the coaching. You all have paid a coach or paid to be part of a membership. Use that resource. Get coached. If you are tell if you're noticing that you want to feel confident and confidence is eluding you, get coached. Understand what it is that you are believing that is becoming the barrier to feeling confident. Right? Not everybody can do that on their own. Sometimes self coaching does not get you there. And I get it. So I want you guys to utilize all of your resources. Okay? This book is a great one especially for the self coaching component of this. But take take advantage of the group coaching opportunities as well. Any other question? Just going to share my screen one more time here. And just point out at the bottom of every daily planner we have a place to kind of heighten your awareness around the self sabotaging feelings that you're noticing throughout the day. Now this goes back to step one. It all starts with awareness. So at the bottom of every single daily planner there are self sabotaging feelings listed. I typically do this in retrospect, as I'm filling out today's, I ask myself, do I remember feeling any of these feelings yesterday? And that gives me fodder for a little bit of journaling. So I'll use this sheet to really kind of work out why was I feeling that way. If I have vulnerable checked or frustrated checked, I typically want to connect the dots between what it was that I was believing that created that feeling. So that supports me in my upcoming days and weeks. If I now know that I have a belief that this isn't fair or this shouldn't be happening, and that's creating frustration, at some point in my day, I can be on the lookout. I can choose right now. I can look at the circumstance that I might have been thinking that about and decide ahead of time how do I want to feel about that. So, like, right now, we're in the process of buying a new car, and I am so frustrated with this process because I feel like there's like a bait and switch going on. They offered us a certain percentage in financing, and then they totally took it away. And why did you do that? Oh, well, you need to buy the gray car instead of the red car. I'm like, no, that does not seem fair. That's total bait and switch. And now I am so frustrated. And now I have to ask myself, do I want to continue to go down this journey feeling frustrated? No, I don't. So what do I want to think and feel about buying this car? I have to do that work. And I'll tell you what, I am so, like, wound up about this. It's something that I probably need to get coached on because I'm so close to it and my primitive brain is screaming, this isn't fair. This shouldn't be happening. It's so tethered to that belief. But that belief is creating this frustration vibration that's running through my body that is so sabotaging. Who's it gonna self who's gonna sabotage me? Not them. They could give a rip. It's me that that frustration is ultimately going to affect. So I see that, and I have to do the work to decide how do I want to feel about this. Okay, so sometimes you won't recognize the destructive nature of a feeling that you're experiencing in the moment. Most of us don't. And so that's why I have that little bar at the bottom of each page, because I want to afford you the opportunity to connect the dots between a feeling, a self sabotaging feeling, and the thought that was creating it. It's not because I want you to keep tabs on how many times you were feeling bad. We all feel bad. We all experience these emotions. It's part of life. We're not making any sort of meaning out of it other than we're human beings. It's meant to serve as an indicator, as a reminder that the only reason we're feeling frustrated is because we're thinking, that's not fair. That shouldn't be happening. Okay. And when you can connect those dots, you can make a much more informed decision. You know that feeling frustrated is going to drive self sabotaging behaviors and ultimately self sabotage. What it is that you want? I want a new car. Feeling frustrated is not going to get me there. It's just not. So I have to do the work to decide how I want to feel and what it is that I'm going to be thinking to feel that way. Okay. Any questions?
Okay.
I just want to see hands raised if you are going to fill out your schedule for today or if you already have and you're picking three events from that schedule and you're going to decide how it is that you want to think and feel. Raise your hand if you're going to do that. Awesome. Good. Alright. If you stumble, if you get through your day and you're like, ah, I wrote down how I wanted to think and feel and I forgot to think and feel that way, bring it to a coaching call. If you wrote down a belief and you recognize you don't actually believe that or you recognize that your primitive brain is much, much stronger and it's offering you those well driven neural pathway beliefs, those limiting beliefs. Bring it to a coaching call. Okay? We don't expect you to be perfect with this. We expect you to try. We expect you to practice so that we can help you refine it, so that we can help help you make this work for you so that you achieve what it is that you want. All right, well, if there are no other questions, we will conclude five minutes early. All right guys, for the coaches who are on here, we have a call at noon today. Everybody else have a fantastic.
