This meeting is being recorded. How are you? I'm good, thanks. How are you? Good. Trying to get back in the groove of things. We got home last night from Utah. How was it? Did you have fun? Yeah, it was fun. Gracie was on a podcast. The guy was. The host was interesting. He had a very big ego, so. Yeah, go figure. Bit of an issue. Yeah. Yeah. And so that was interesting. It's funny how you go out there for one thing and so much more comes of it than what you were ever expecting. So we met a VA that she hired to help her with some of the digital stuff that she's working on who just happened to live in Salt Lake City. Because as we were planning out the trip, Gracie was like, I think Jess told me she lives in Salt Lake City. I'm like, oh, my gosh. We have to meet with her. So we had coffee with her, which was, yeah, awesome. And then we decided to do a spa day up in the mountains at a ski lodge, which was incredible. And we. We sat out in the hot tub between lunch and our treatment, we had, like, three hours to kill. So we went, and at the base of the mountain, there's a hot tub, and it was snowing, and it was beautiful. You guys needed that so badly. The tour. Oh, my gosh, that was like. It was meant to be, you know, prescribed by. Yes. Yes. And some guy walks over, and he's like, can I. Do you mind if I get in with you guys? And we're like, nope, that's totally fine. And he immediately starts just drilling us. Are you skiing? What are you here for? Blah, blah, blah. You know, we're not there to ski. We were there to spot. He's like, you drove all the way up here to just go to a spa? Because you have to drive through a canyon. It's a little. It can be a little dicey. It wasn't for us, but. Right, right. And so to us, it didn't seem odd, but to people that go there to ski, it seemed very odd. So that kept him asking questions. And long story short, he's an investor, and so he has. I mean, he invests in. He's like a private equity investor, so he's with a team. He was there with his yacht club members. So apparently. I've never heard of this, but apparently yacht clubs are a thing. Grayson said she's got somebody in her group that is a yacht club member. So the. So the group that was out there was the Yacht Club of New York, and they travel to ski. Okay. The yacht club that travels to ski. That's a very interesting combination. Yeah. So anyways, it was super interesting to get to know him. And then his yacht club member buddies came and women. There were women too, came and got in the hot tub. So we got to talk to them. And by the end of the hot tub experience, Gracie and I had been in the hot tub for three hours because neither of us wanted to leave. Because, I mean, we're on, like, we're in this huge group of people that are asking tons of questions. I gotta let people in here. And so by the time we got out, Grace was like, whoa, I feel lightheaded. I'm like, yeah, we've been sitting in a hot tub for three hours. So. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, really good. Really Good morning. Good morning. How are you guys? Hi. Good, good. It's always a good day when Brent shows up, isn't it?
Oh, appreciate that.
I appreciate that. How was the weekend? What you guys do? Just hearing about it three, it's amazing. Gracie and I went to Salt Lake City. She was on a podcast and so. Right, right. Yeah, it was, it was a fun weekend. Neither of us have ever been to Salt or to Utah. Right. So that was. I mean, I never even considered what the geography would be like. So we got off the plane and just. Their airport, it's all glass and for good reason, because you are surrounded by mountain ranges. I mean, and right now everything is snow capped. It's still snowing there, so. Wow. I mean, I was just blown away by the scenery. Yeah, that was stunning. I mean, you go into a target and you walk out and it's like, it's so picturesque. You can be in like. We were in downtown Salt Lake City where we stayed and we'd come out of a target and it was just like, it just caught your breath because you're standing there looking all around you. That's. That's the crazy thing. It's not like just right here. To your right is snow capped mountains. It goes all around you. It's crazy. Wow. Yeah. Stunning. I've never ever. And I'm. And I'm from the Pacific Northwest, so, like mountain ranges are, you know, I'm familiar with them. But to be completely surrounded is something that I've never experienced. It was just breathtaking. So highly recommend if you've never been to Utah. I highly, highly recommend that. What were you surrounded by?
Sorry, mountains.
Mountain. Yeah.
Oh, it's gorgeous. It's gorgeous.
Just crazy. So, yeah, we decided that this weekend or right around this time, so end of March is like the perfect time to visit Utah because still snowing in the mountains. So the scenery is all, you know, it's white capped mountains. It's easy to drive because in the valley, you know, it's all melted. It's warm enough to hang out without coats. I mean, it was really perfect. And if you wanted to go ski, it's, I don't know, less than an hour drive into the mountains that it. Apparently the canyons can get pretty dicey, but we just happened to hit it on a weekend that the weather was decent to travel on. So, yeah, we were lucky. It was, it was a great weekend. So Gracie's podcast, I, I think is going to be out here within the next seven to 10 days on the Jimmy Rez Rex. I think it's Jimmy Rex show. He's, he's an interesting bird. He too has a community of men and they, Gracie and Jimmy could not be any more different. So I'm like, wow, I wonder how he's going to produce this podcast because some of the questions he was asking her, she just kind of look at him like, huh. So you can tell his membership is very, very different. But he's, he doesn't go down the life coaching path. He just goes down kind of the bro path, like, so it was, it was interesting. So, yeah. How about you guys? Thumbs up weekend good down.
I've been it. I finished a huge project this weekend, so.
Remodel house project. Yes, ma'.
Am. We had this ugly wall. I won't go into detail. And we had a hidden bookcase that was just. We were struggling with. And a couple weeks ago I was like, let's get wood paneling up and just like transform this space. And weather. Travel stopped us a little bit, but we got through and pretty much we have to add trim and stuff around certain places, but it's in and it looks freaking awesome.
Nice. I'll send a picture once it's done. Yeah. Is it still functioning as a hidden bookcase or.
No, it's functioning beautifully as a hidden bookcase.
Very cool. Do you have a. Behind it?
No, unfortunately it's just a coat closet.
But. But the property brothers say you don't.
Want to enter your door into your home and just see a door. And so we were like, well, how about a hidden bookcase where all of our like, travel knickknacks that we collect displayed instead. And it looks beautiful when they're all up there. But it was just causing us a lot of problems to the point where we had to rip it down to the studs and start over. But we freaking nailed it. It looks so good.
Way to go. Way to go.
Once the trim is done and the baseboards are on, we'll. I'll send some things, but.
Oh, my God, you guys, that, that belief right there, we nailed it. Yeah. That's one that we used to talk about years ago. Some of the OGs in here will remember, like the million dollar thoughts. Those are such good thoughts because notice how that makes you feel like we nailed it. That makes you feel powerful. That makes you feel, you know, excited. Yeah, it's a thought. It's a thought. We, you know, whether it's true or not, it's a thought. And just notice how that thought makes you feel and kind of tuck it away in your back pocket because at any given moment today, we're going to get cut off in traffic or we're going to get a phone call that a bank account hit zero, or we're going to get, we're going to step on a scale and see where we don't like. Right. And we're going to also have thoughts about that circumstance which might not like, send the same sort of good vibrations through our body that we frickin nailed it. Did. And so tucking that thought into your back pocket and remembering that that's a truth for you, and that truth creates this feeling. And, and that's how quickly we can shift how we feel. It has everything to do with what we're focused on.
Yeah. And even better is because of our theatrical background, we've been immersed in power tools and both of us since high school. And so going into any project, we know that we have the skills and the mindset and the, you know, the brain capabilities to do it. You know, and we've built everything from five step walkway with beautiful pavers in our front yard to custom built in kitchens and now this place.
So this wall panel was just like.
Yeah, well, it'll be great. You know, so we have the confidence and really anything that we put our mind to, we know that we can do because he has a certain set of skills and I have a certain set of skills. And combined we just, we could do anything.
And so that's amazing.
Even though we have no idea what we're doing. You know, you just watch a lot of YouTube videos and we're like, okay, let's do this.
Yeah. You know, how to figure it out? Everything is figureoutable, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, that's, that's the thing that you.
Have to keep in mind is that it will always work out in the end.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, hopefully. Even if you can't relate to doing, you know, home renovation, the whole point of this conversation is what is it that you're going to choose to focus on? Notice how your thinking is translating into feelings, because that is why we feel anything. It's always because what we're thinking. So I just want you guys to all just take a moment and consider. How does that apply to you in We've all been awake for a number of hours now this morning. And since your feet hit the floor, since you got out of bed, how does that concept of thoughts create feelings? How does that apply to you in your unique way? How have you been feeling this morning? I'm sure we've all went through a spectrum of emotions. Think about that for a minute. How since you've woken up, since you've started to get the day going, how have you been feeling? Notice that and connect it back. Connect the dots to what it is that you are believing that's creating that thought or that feeling.
And to make it more relatable for.
All of us and to make it.
More relatable, doing projects like this are daunting and exhausting physically, mentally. And one thing I always tell people is doing home renovations with your significant other tests your patients, and it challenges your communication because we'll be both frustrated and we have to stop and be like, okay, we're kind of like yelling at each other a little, you know, like nitpicking. And it's like, okay, we have to take a step back and just. We're both trying to figure it out. And it helps us understand better how to communicate with each other and recognize our frustrations, you know, without having to really say, I'm frustrated. You can just now tell like, okay, I'm frustrated. Let's stop, take a breath and work through it.
So, yeah, awesome.
It's great.
Great. Yeah. So the purpose of this call, you guys, is to better understand yourself. I mean, I would say if I had to have one mission every day, it would be to better understand myself. So. So that I can accept myself. Because when I don't understand myself, I resist, I push back against circumstances, against other people, I push back against myself. I do a lot of self loathing. So better understanding yourself, especially at the start of a day, at the start of a week, pays dividends. So. So that is one of the biggest objectives of this exercise. Secondly, it's to plan out your week with intention so that you are more productive, so that you are keeping your finger on the pulse of the goals that you've set for yourself so that you decide and take control and ownership of how this day and the rest of the days that follow in this week unfold. This is that moment, this is that call where all of that is afforded to you. So by being here on this call and taking the time to intentionally plan out your week, that's what support it to you. So it is time well spent. I would argue that it's probably the best time that you can spend out of the entire week. So where do we start? We start with a video that you can actually see. All right, there we go. We always start with the weekly reflection. Okay, so you're reflecting back on the past week. So we always start with what worked well. Now, your brain is immediately going to want to talk about what didn't work, because that's how the human brain is wired. The human brain is wired to keep you safe, and so it's looking for all of the danger. Okay? Now we are going to resist the urge to talk about in our own mind what didn't work. And we are going to stay committed to finding what worked well this week. Okay? And I want you all to notice how normal your brain is and how many times it's like, but, but, but this didn't work so well. And that didn't work so well. No, we're talking about what worked well. So I want you to simply write down. I don't care if you bullet point. I don't care if you write it out in a paragraph. I want you to. You can flip back and reference the pages, the previous pages. But I want you to, off the top of your head, what worked well this week? Sa it. Okay, so now that you've trained your brain to stay in that place of facts, now you ask a new question, but your brain stays in that place of facts. Okay? So what this is is we're keeping our intellect high and our emotions low. Your emotions want to run off with the show. It can talk for days about what didn't go well and it can add all sorts of adjectives. It can get very dramatic, and that can feel sort of good because it's very comfortable as a human being. We're good at that. It's a very comfortable place to be to complain, make excuses, get dramatic, tell a very salacious story. Right? No, that's not what we're doing. Again, we're sticking with the facts. Okay, so what didn't work well this week I want you to Write that down. Could be bullet points. It can be. It can be a paragraph. You might want to reference your intentions from last week quickly. See are there things that don't have check marks next to it.
It.
Now, from here, we want to ask ourselves, what will we do different this next week? Now, this can be in relation to what didn't work or it can be new innovative ideas. This is not the question that is. This is not meant to be a punitive question. This is not a punishing question. This is simply staying in a very strategic, innovative mindset. Knowing what didn't work. Knowing what did work. How am I going to move forward this week? Sa One of the things that. One of the things that I like to do is when I remember is to talk a conversation with my future self. Ask my future self what are the next steps. Asking that future self, who's already experiencing a lot of these things at kind of the finish line, asking her for the next steps versus looking at my past for evidence is a really great strategy. So the way to fill this out can be very strategic. It could be something that you. A concept or a strategy that you've learned that has really helped you make progress. It could simply say making sure that you're doing your self coaching every morning. Getting in this book, making decisions ahead of time. There's lots. Anybody want to share what their strategy for this next week is? Anybody need help?
I can. I'm gonna. And I did this last week. I was somewhat successful, but just putting less action items because I tend to have like way too many and then I can't get them all done. So doing less of them and then actually putting them on my calendar on a specific day and committing to getting them done. And I. One, they get done. And two, I feel more accomplished about getting it done.
Yeah. Yes. That's such a good strategy, John. That's one that I definitely.
I love my lists.
Yeah.
But then I move it to the next week and the next week and then I'm like, you know, and evaluating which ones I really are most important.
Yeah. Yeah. That's like, you know, when you're thinking about smart goals, when you're actually setting goals and if you flip back to your initial goals and the question the a of smart is achievable and so many people will set goals that are so far out of the realm of possibility, you know, versus making it actually achievable. So that's I think a lot about, you know, I think a strategy like what you are executing, just taking a few Things, actually scheduling them so that they get done. You're not buried or overwhelmed with all of these action items. It's recognizing that a few things that actually get done is, you know, the result of a lot of progress and feeling accomplished. Thank you. Okay, so now I want you to. At the bottom of your page, I want you to rate your week on a scale of one to five. One, not at all aware. Five, being highly aware. How aware of your sabotaging feelings throughout the week were you? Okay, just flip back and look at these checked boxes. How aware of sabotaging feelings were you? And on a scale of 1 to 5, how much control do you feel you have over the progress towards your goals? Are you feeling in control of the progress? Are you feeling out of control of that progress? And just flip back to the week before and see if you're meeting or exceeding. Okay, the next page is the weekly intentions. I want you to come up with four goals or priorities. The priorities can come from the goals that you've set. Again, if you need to be reminded, you can flip back to pages 18. I think it's 18 through 21. You flip back to pages 18 through 21 to actually see what your goals were. If you are wanting to kind of whittle it down, maybe look at the action steps. Sometimes these action steps are big enough that can translate into the priorities. And I want you to simply write down your priorities for the week. And then what we want to do is we want to whittle that down into the actions we intend to take this week. Now, this goes back to exactly what Jen was just talking about. This is not the comprehensive list of how to get it done. This is the few things that we're going to commit to doing this week. The list on pages 18 through 24, that's the comprehensive actions. That's the roadmap that will get you from A to Z of that goal each week. We whittle it down to. What are the small but effective steps that I will take that will get me closer? Okay, that's what I want you to list under each of the priorities. Here's a prompt for you. If you were watching somebody else make progress towards that very specific goal or that very specific priority, what would you see them doing? Pull yourself out of it. Often our primitive brain is out there, very distracted by the evidence of what it thinks we can and cannot do. I want you to look at it very objectively. If you're watching somebody else do it, what would you see them doing? Do that for goal One, what would you see them doing in order to make progress on that goal? Same thing for goal number two. If you have a second goal, you don't have to have two goals. Maybe this week, like last week, Gracie and I were traveling. I was probably overzealous in my goals, especially looking back and seeing the. But yet I still feel very accomplished. But maybe this week is a little bit hairy for you, and you know that having just one thing to focus on is going to serve you well. That's great.
What was the question? If you were watching a friend do this?
Not a friend. If you were watching someone else make progress, like, I. I wouldn't say a friend. I would say someone that you either know has accomplished this very specific goal, what would you see them doing? Because in your mind, you can come up with all the evidence of why they can do it. Your primitive brain also wants to come up with all the evidence of why you can't do it. So let's pull ourselves out of it and look very objectively. Let's be the watcher of someone else making progress on this goal and account for what it is that they're doing. These are all. It could be, you know, hacks, it could be strategies, it could be best practices. Those people who are in our weight loss workshop that Kim's facilitating, the best practices are deciding ahead of time when you're going to eat, what you're going to eat, and how long you're going to fast. Like, how long is that eating window? Because that's going to decide how long the fasting window is. That's a best practice every single day, deciding ahead of time. Another best practice is eliminating sugar and flour and alcohol for those people who are looking to lose weight. Those are all best practices. Okay? Those are the type of things that you're going to write down in the actions to take. If it is having a conversation with your boss. Let's talk about, like, if you were having a conversation with your boss about maybe a promotion, okay, so maybe the goal was to get promoted this week. The priority is to have the conversation with your boss. The actions are maybe going to look like spending an hour outlining the conversation, outlining what it is that you want to accomplish. It might also be talking to the boss's secretary to find the best time to get onto his calendar. Maybe it is outlining the role and responsibilities that you ideally want so that you're not going to him with the problem. You're not making your desire his problem. You're actually going in with A solution. What is it that this is going to, how is this going to benefit the company? There's a lot of things that if you decide ahead of time can be very strategic and work in your favor and get you the promotion versus sitting here in fear thinking he doesn't even know my name, which can feel very defeating, which is going to keep you in a spin, which is probably not going to help you make any progress towards that promotion. Okay, anybody have any questions? Do they? Are you looking for best practices, dare I say hacks to make progress towards a very specific goal or do you know the actions? You guys are actually pretty easy to come by. You could throw it into Chat GPT, Ask Chat GPT, the prompt of. If I was a. If I was somebody in the advertising industry looking to get a promotion, what would you suggest I do? It's going to go and give you all of the hacks, all of the actions. Okay? This is not the hard part. There is nothing new under the sun. Actions have been taken for years and years and years and gotten people what they want. The problem is it's not sustainable if they aren't thinking and feeling in a self made way. Because when you're operating on autopilot, you're thinking and feeling in a self sabotaging way and that does not create sustainable results.
That's the problem.
Okay, turn the page. Now I want you guys to use this page to complete your non goal related to do's. So transfer any of the to do's from last week that maybe didn't get done right here. This is a living breathing page. This is probably going to feel up as the week goes by. I love your. Do not be a prisoner to the past. Choose positive. Choose positivity. Activity three. Grateful for the list. Nice. Okay, this is your to do list. This is where I want you to capture all the things. Check your emails, check your text. Check what's sitting on the kitchen counter, what's posted on the refrigerator or on the bulletin board. These are commitments that you've made that are probably cluttering your mind. It makes your mind feel very chaotic when you're trying to keep tabs. Keep all those balls in the air. Don't do that. Our brain is not a vault. Our brain is a processor. Okay? So do not count on your brain to hold all of the information. Set yourself up for success and create lists. Just like Jen said, we love our lists. Continue to love your lists but put them in a place that is accessible, that is right next to the goals that matter. To you. That's the whole point of becoming self made is set yourself up for success. Use tools like this. So transfer anything that didn't get done last week. Ask yourself if it didn't get done last week, is it really that important? It might have just been a nicety. It might be something that you could delegate or you could delete. Question it that didn't get done is really that important. And the next page is the brain dump. And I want you to start this today. So every morning I want you to do the exercise that we started this call with. How is it that you have been feeling since your feet hit the ground since you got out of bed this morning? Grab one of those feelings, pinpoint an emotion. Expand your vocabulary with emotions. That's in the front of this book. There are lists of emotions, self sabotaging emotions as well as self made emotions and the thoughts that create them. I want you to pinpoint emo an emotion you have been feeling this morning. And I want you to decide why. Why was I feeling that way? The answer is the thought. And you might have to dig a little bit deeper because it's going. You're probably going to come up with a surface level thought. It's a well driven neural pathway. So a, I want you to come up with the feeling that you've experienced and why. No shame. Just write down Today's date, March 24 felt or am feeling this way. And then support yourself by recognizing why you're actually feeling this way. It's not a circumstance, you guys. So if you're feeling, let's say you're feeling scared and you write down the circumstance of bank account just hit zero. Okay? That's a circumstance. The reason you're feeling scared is because you're making that means something about you. That your bank account hit zero. That you can't manage your money or you're going to lose your home. Okay? Why is that a problem? You have to dig deep. You have to get to the crux of what you're making it mean about you so that we're not looking for an emotion and a circumstance. We're looking for an emotion and the thought that's creating that emotion. Like maybe I can't hold down a job. I'm a loser. I'm. I'm. Nobody likes me. It's probably nothing poetic. It's probably very primitive. Okay, no shame. We want to heighten our awareness around what it is that we are feeling and why. This is a huge component of this daily exercise. It's connecting the dots between what it is that we're feeling and why. It's not a circumstance, it's the way we're thinking about that circumstance. So I want you guys to get very proficient at connecting the dots between how it is that you're thinking and the feeling that it's creating. Does anybody have any questions on that? This is how you become self made. This is how you take responsibility for all of your results. It's when you realize, and it will be, it might be days, months, might even be a year from now of hearing me say this over and over and over and it'll. One day it'll be like a light bulb flips on and you'll be like, oh my God. I thought I hated myself because of the £300 that I'm seeing on the scale. Because of the three numbers that I was seeing on the scale has nothing to do with the numbers. It has everything. That self loathing that, that defeat, that unworthiness has everything to do with the story that I'm telling myself. It's a thought that's creating that feeling. That thought, yes, is being triggered by a circumstance. But circumstances change. Thoughts become well driven neural pathways that we by default continue to think. And the best news is that you can change that. You can change it on a dime. You just have to find another truth to shift your focus to. So that's the exercise. Every single day you flip to that brain dump. After you've created your plan for the day, you flip back to that brain dump page and just assess, how am I feeling and why? It can be one sentence online. Okay, now I want you to turn the page and I want you for the next seven days, all I want you to do is put the date. If you're working off of the worksheets, just go through the next seven days and put the date. I like to make this so easy, it's hard not to do. That's your next step date. Monday 3 24. Tuesday 3 25. Wednesday 3 26. Thursday 3 27. Friday 328. Saturday 329. Sunday 3 30. Is Monday the 1st or is Tuesday the first? I think Tuesday is the first. Okay, once you've got that done, now I want you to focus on this section right here, today's schedule. And I want you to simply fill out where it is that you're going to be, at what time or what it is you're going to be doing and at what time. Okay, so this is intentionally left blank so that you can customize it for your day. So 9:00am Central Standard Time. We're on the reset call. 10:00am I'm prepping for a coach call that is happening at noon. Noon is the coach call. 1 o', clock, I'm recording a podcast. 3 o', clock, I'm working on marketing. 5 o', clock, I'm leaving for lifetime. 6 to 10 I'll be at lifetime. That's how my day, I'm intending for my day to go. Now this could of course, things curveballs come up, but that's how I want you. If you're somebody who's focused, if you have the goal to lose weight, this could be 9am coffee with heavy whipping cream. Noon, break my fast and have a salad with chicken. 1 through 1 o' clock through maybe the next day you're going to be fasting. And you can also add. Sorry, this just went blurry. You can also add in addition to your intentions of eating and what your fasting window is, you can add these kind of things in there too. But we can only be and do pretty much one thing at a time. So don't be afraid to to use this planner in ways that maybe seem a little unconventional, like deciding how it is that you're going to eat. Okay, now I want you to look back at your weekly intentions. Look at these actions or your weekly to do list. And, and, or I guess I should say, is there anything that can actually be scheduled today? Look at the white space that you have. Some of us, we schedule our day pretty tight and there may not be any white space except for on the front end and the back end. That's okay. And maybe you know that there's something that needs to get done and you're just not quite sure where that's going to fit in. That can go into the daily to do's box. But make a commitment to yourself that before your head hits the pillow, this may not be scheduled, but you're making a commitment to yourself that this will get done. And again, where do you find these things? You look back to your weekly to do list and to these actions. Now what I'm showing you is what I want you to be doing on your own tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday until we meet again the following Monday. On Mondays, we do it together. This is your opportunity to ask questions, ask for any sort of clarification. Okay? Now I want you to look at this schedule that you've just created and the daily to dos. And I want you also to be considering your goals. Pages 18 through 21 your goals, whether it's 1 or 4, I want you to consider today's schedule, today's to dos, and your goals just in general. And I want you to pick three events that you want to decide ahead of time, how it is that you're going to feel while executing or how you want to feel about that goal as you're making progress. So I have a health and wellness goal that is about creating more strength, muscle building and I have to intentionally every single day check back in with myself about how I'm choosing to think and feel about that goal. So my fitness goal, building muscle can be an event, but it also, I could also pick something as simple as the marketing that I have scheduled to do at three o'.
Clock.
So I want you to pick three events, three circumstances that you are going to decide ahead of time, how you're going to think and feel. So I'm going to pick the SMU coach call, I'm going to pick the podcast. And I knew for sure as I was starting on this this morning, marketing was going to be the third one. So these are all three directly coming from my schedule. Often I'll choose a goal, often it'll say strength building muscle or strength training or sometimes it'll be a person. You know, if I'm really having a hard time with a relationship in my life, it'll be a person. The whole point is that this is the most important exercise of your day is deciding ahead of time how you're going to think, feel. Because if you don't decide ahead of time, you'll run on autopilot. And it's your primitive brain, your fear based brain that's going to offer you the thoughts. Not your prodigy brain, your prefrontal cortex, your strategic brain that can decide ahead of time. Your primitive brain is very, very strong, which is a good thing when it's missioned to keep you safe. We want it to be strong, but you're not in any danger. So don't go onto autopilot and just navigate through your day. Most people do, 99% of us do that. Not the people that come to this call. We decide ahead of time how it is that we're going to think and feel about the significant, maybe insignificant events that we've chosen every day. This is the game changer, you guys. This is what creates sustainable results in our life. This is what creates the optimal life. This is not a check the box exercise either. I often tell people, check the bookmark if you're really stuck. So for the SMU Coach call, which is my first event, I have to ask myself, how do I ideally want to feel? This bookmark or the self made feelings chart in the front of the book can help you with great motions. Suggested emotions. I want to feel. I want to feel inspired on that call. So all I do SMU coach call. I want to feel inspired. Now I am deciding that this is me taking control of something that's going to happen at noon today. I want to feel inspired. Just because I say it does not mean that I'm gifted. The experience of feeling expired. I got to roll up my sleeves and do the work. How am I going to feel inspired at noon today? During that call, I have to be intentionally thinking something to create an emotion. 100% of the time, your emotions come from what you're thinking. So if you believe that to be true, you'll do the work ahead of time to find find what feels true to you. This is not. Let's look up some affirmations. No, because those don't feel true to you. You decide ahead of time what it is that creates inspiration. So we do have suggested thoughts and these might not like hit the mark for you, but it's a good starting place. It's a great springboard that you can manipulate from, that you can tweak from. So just to give you an example, if I flip this over from the inspired suggested emotion, the thought is, I'm inspired to take action toward my, towards my highest potential. Is there a way that I can tweak that thought? To feel inspired, you have to check your work. Once you write down what believable thought creates that feeling, check your work. Drop into your body, ask yourself, what is it that I'm feeling? Am I feeling inspired? So happens to be all women that are on that call with me, they're the self made you coaches and they are amazing human beings that are not only changing their lives through what it is that they've learned, they're changing other people's lives. Like, it gets me choked up every time I say it. Does that make me feel inspired? Oh, yeah. So that's what I write down. These amazing human beings are here not only to change their lives, they're here to change other people's lives. Hugely inspiring. If I go at noon, when I get on that call and remind myself that I want to feel inspired getting onto that call, I've got the thought right there. I just need to keep practicing that thought. I need to be reminded of that thought. You guys, this is game changing. When you do the work to decide ahead of time how you want to think and feel about the significant or insignificant events throughout your day. It changes your day. And that day, compounded on this day, compounded on the next day, changes your week and the weeks, compounded, changes the months and the months, compounded, changes the years, and the years change your life. Why not take 10 minutes every day to decide ahead of time? Why not? You cannot give me. There is no reason this. You can get so proficient at this. You could be doing this while you brush your teeth. You could ask yourself, how do I want to feel about the commute into work? Some people would argue pretty insignificant. But if you're somebody that by the time you get to work, your stress level, your anxiety is through the roof, it's pretty significant. Decide ahead of time what you're going to be thinking and feeling about that commute. Maybe you want to feel calm. Okay, what do I have to be focused on? What do I have to be thinking about to feel calm? Notice the difference between being intentional and just letting that unfold. If you're somebody that gets a lot of road rage, it. It's a game changer. Any questions on that? I want you now to do that for all three events. Sa okay, so once you have all three of these events declared and you've decided how it is that you want to feel and what it is that you'll be thinking, now, I want you to set yourself up for success. Either set an alarm for that time or I want you to practice it. I want you to really sit with it. I want you to check your work at. When I'm doing the marketing work at 3 o', clock, I want to feel creative and I need to remind myself that this is the thought that feels creative that makes me feel creative. New ideas and solutions flow effortlessly to me. I have to remind myself of that because if I don't, my primitive brain, which Gracie can attest to, will jump into the driver's seat and start telling me how bad I am at marketing. And it's really easy to believe that because that is a very well driven neural pathway that makes me feel paralyzed almost. We were on the plane last night and working on marketing and I wanted to beat my head against the window because I was believing how bad I am at marketing. That is so unhelpful. But what else is true for me is that ideas and solutions flow pretty effortlessly. If I focus on that, it's so interesting how creative I feel. Huge, huge difference. Okay, anybody need help coming up with a thought? That will generate a feeling. I'm a certified life coach. For those of you who are new on this coach on this call. We've got all sorts of coaches on this call, including Gracie and myself. We are very skilled at prompting you to come up with truths, coming up with believable thoughts. That is the key. Again, this is not writing down affirmations. This is digging deep to find the believable thoughts. Sometimes it's a matter of laddering up. Like it's possible that new ideas and solutions could flow effortlessly. So for somebody that it doesn't feel true that new ideas and solutions flow effortlessly. Is it possible? Are you maybe becoming the person who new ideas flow through? Like, maybe laddering up can be helpful. And then the last component on this page that I want to make sure that you guys are executing on every day is noticing the self sabotaging feelings. Now often I do this in retrospect. So tomorrow when I sit down to fill this out and just by the way, it takes a quarter of the time that we've taken today for me to just do this quickly. I'll reflect back on today and I'll ask myself, did I do? I remember feeling guilty, overwhelmed, anxious, angry, frustrated, disappointed, resentful. This is your way to not make those feelings mean anything. It's your way to realize they were coming from a thought. It's not because I'm a bad person. It's not because I'm not worthy. It's because I had a thought error that created that feeling. I want you to get good at connecting the dots between thoughts and feelings, self sabotaging thoughts and self sabotaging feelings. Because when you get good at that, you also get good at creating self made feelings where you decide ahead of time how it is that you want to feel and what it is that you'd have to be believing. Okay, so you're going. We're, we're transferring. We're transforming from self sabotaging days to self made days. Check the front of your book. If you've got the new book, you can go to the self sabotaging feelings exercise. This is an exercise that I highly recommend doing. These are a lot of the primary feelings and the secondary. They all kind of fall under this category so you can better connect to them and what it is that you might be thinking. I don't have all this completely figured out yet. What it is that you might be thinking that's creating that feeling. But then. But the fourth column is a place for you to add your own. What are the thoughts that you've noticed that create those feelings. Again, it's just an exercise that helps you recognize those thoughts and feelings. And then this is the other chart. This is on page 32. These are self made feelings. These are the primaries, the secondaries. These are the ones. They also show up on the bookmark. And I want you to peruse the suggested thoughts, but come up with your own so that on a day to day basis, when you decide to feel inspired, you can just reference this page. What was the thought that makes me feel inspired? Okay, Any questions? This is how you stay in control. If you're somebody who notices the feeling of being out of control, if you do nothing else besides take 10 minutes every morning to be intentional, to even do one component of this, you will start to create control because you are creating evidence that you are in control. It all goes back to what you're thinking and feeling. It has very little to do with the actions. But I'd like to give people that hack. I love giving people a tool that is a representation of what control looks like, of what a self made person does to create a self made life. Okay. Oh, I love that. Salvador. Don't lose weight because you hate yourself. Get in shape because you love yourself. So true. All right, well, hopefully this is the kickoff of a fantastic week ahead. If you have any questions, if you need clarity on anything, you can reach out to Gracie or I through school. You can certainly DM us. A lot of you have packages that you can schedule one on one calls. I highly recommend being on your group coaching calls. Those are so incredibly valuable. Always ask yourself, how does this apply to me? When you're on a group coaching call, we. My group has group coaching calls on Wednesdays. Asking yourself, how does this apply to me? Puts you right in the game. It's like you're in the hot seat. And if we don't see you for next week, I just encourage you to get into that book. Take 10 minutes every morning and just decide ahead of time not only where you're going to be and at what time, but what it is that you're going to be thinking and feeling. And I'll look forward to seeing you guys next Monday. All right, take care. Bye. Take care.
