Great. How are you doing?
Good. Just getting my day started.
Awesome. Are you in. You're in California, right?
Yep.
Okay. What's the weather like?
Kind of been a little bipolar. Yesterday it was sprinkling a bit. The day before, it's like, hot, sunny. But, I mean, I think for California, it's been all right. Yeah, not too bad.
Awesome. All right.
What have you been up to?
I did a little bit of work this weekend on. Was it Friday? Yeah, I had. I had kind of a busy weekend. I was traveling a lot. I play a lot of pickleball, so I did. I worked a tournament last night. We played, and then I did a cold plunge after that. So it's amazing how. Well, cold plunge helps, like, your body from getting sore. If I don't do that, like, if I was just to do a hot tub or sauna or something like that, I will be very sore afterwards. But you do a cold plunge, and it, like, takes all that away. It just blows my mind how that works. So.
Interesting.
Yeah. Yeah. Shout out to cold plunges, you who have never tried one. They are incredible.
I'd rather take profane and Tylenol.
Yeah, no kidding. Believe me, as I'm doing it, I'm. I'm sitting there thinking, yeah, Advil and Tylenol would be a lot easier.
Yeah, I'm. I'm not. I. I don't feel like getting sick. Yeah, I have, too. I have too many medical issues. I don't need it. I don't need. I have too many sinus issues. I don't need the flu. Pneumonia. Double pneumonia. The Pope has double pneumonia. So I heard that. I don't need that.
I heard that. Yeah.
Hey, everyone else.
So, hello. All right, what time is it? Let's get this party started. Okay, so if you don't have the book, hopefully you have worksheets sitting in front of you. These are the sheets. Yep. Awesome. Dave. These are the sheets that are the exact worksheets that are inside the book. The book is meant to be the tool that helps you plan out the week to be very deliberate, not only about where it is that you're going to be and what it is that you're going to be doing, but how it is that you're going to be thinking so that you feel a certain way. Feelings drive our behaviors. So if you are setting big or small goals, it's very important that you're taking or doing the behaviors that are going to get you there. So, a, you got to know what those behaviors are. You've got to set yourself up for success by being driven by emotions that are going to motivate you towards taking those behaviors. So this tool, not only the planner, but also being here on this coaching call, is the one, two punch, I believe, to week over week over week, day over day or day, get you closer to your goals. So it all starts with setting the goals. If you haven't been through a goals workshop, you need to go through one. That goals workshop helps you assess your life. We break it down into eight segments and we decide, like, where are we least satisfied? And then we set goals from there. So some of you have weight loss goals, some of you have relationship goals, some of you have professional goals, some of you have goals around fun and recreation, bringing more of that into your life. There is no right way of setting a goal within like a certain segment because every three months you do it again. So I know a lot of my clients will, will set a goal and then they'll spend the next three weeks questioning whether they set the right goal or whether they should change their goal. I do that too. And so try on the thought that there is no wrong answer to this. Once you decide that you want to achieve something, that you want to go something like, get behind that decision, have your own back. So again, if it's a relationship goal and you want to meet new people, then there's best practices that will help you progress towards that goal. But the most important, if you're going to reverse architect it, the most important component of it is how you're thinking and feeling so that you take the right actions. A lot of people will think, I can't achieve my goals because I don't know how. I don't know what I need to do. I can't lose weight because everything I've tried doesn't work. Another way of saying that is I don't know how. It's not that they don't know how because there is nothing new under the sun. The best practices are the best practices. Now they may shift based on the type of person, based on your genetics, based on your biological makeup. Finding what works for you is part of the equation. But it ultimately is not that you don't know what to do. It's that you don't know how to think and feel. That's the reason why you haven't achieved the goals up until now. So that's what this call is meant for. Every single Monday, we reset. So we do this exercise and to support ourselves in resetting for the next week. Last week might have Been an A plus week. It might have been a D minus week. We're resetting. This is your opportunity to come and ask for support, ask for advice. If things didn't work, we want to assess, why didn't it work? We want to get to the root cause so that we can shift and move forward this week. So first off, I want you to look at last week's weekly intentions. So you're turning back to one of the sheets that we did together last week called Weekly Intentions. It has four goals or four priorities listed on that sheet with actions beneath it.
What page is that on?
Well, we're all on different weeks, so it's hard.
I wasn't here last week, so I need to know where it starts.
Okay, so the weekly intention sheet. If you haven't done a weekly intention sheet, then this will be the first week that you're doing it. So what I'm saying right now doesn't necessarily apply to you, but it doesn't.
Make any sense either.
But page 37.
Okay.
Is the example.
Got it.
Okay. So it has four goals, four priorities. Underneath each of those, we've done ourselves a favor and we've listed actions that would need to be taken in order to get ourselves there. So I want you to look at last week. I just did this right before I turned on this call for myself. And just quickly, there's like, little bubbles next to it. Quickly make a check mark to through the ones next to the ones that were accomplished. The ones that don't have check marks next to it may transfer over to this week. So just kind of peruse last week's weekly intentions. Take a look at what was actually accomplished from an action standpoint. And now we want to turn to this week's weekly intention. So, Dave, you're going to be starting on page 43. Yep, 43. And this is what we intend to do this week. And often looking at the past week can be really helpful. It can help us. It can kind of remind us where we were headed. I also encourage you to look back at your smart goals. So if you're in the book, that's pages 18 through 21.
Yep. Never did those either.
Okay.
My first chance looking at the book.
Okay. Okay. Well, that just tells me you just need to come to a goals workshop Wednesday. We'll get you there. And we know that. We know because you're in Dating with Gracie. We know what your goals are. We know kind of the segment that you're focused on.
Oh, so I don't have to be here Bye. You know, if I don't have to be here, you know, and Gracie's gonna do that. I'm working. So.
It'S entirely up to you, Dave. But this is a process that you're gonna want to know how to do, so it's definitely worth your time.
Okay. She did mention I should come here on Monday.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think it's worth your time. But of course that's your decision to make. Okay, so, so now what we're going to do is we are going to fill out this week's weekly intention sheet. And so your goals or your priorities, they might look a little bit different from last week. I always take myself through the exercise. Is this goal still important to me? Is there a priority underneath this goal that I really want to focus on this week? So you've got four priorities, four goals. I don't want anybody deciding on more than four. We want to stay very focused. Good Lord. We got lots of dogs going on here. So just transfer over or make a decision about what your focus is for this week.
Other than dating.
If you are. I highly recommend with the Dating with Gracie, clients create four priorities around dating. So it might be, maybe it's like updating your dating profile. Maybe one, maybe another one is getting out and meeting five people. Another one might be scouting for great first date locations. Okay. So there's best practices within the dating scene.
Yeah, I'm not ready for, you know, those other ones. Basically, it's going to be study for this week, go to Panera Bread, go to Starbucks and try to, and try to start up conversations. I'm only. This is my third week.
Okay. Yep, yep. So it's going to look different for everyone. But that's. We have certain goals, so going to Panera Bread or doing our homework, those are great goals. There's going to probably be actions necessary to take to actually accomplish those goals. And that's what we write underneath the, the actual goal. So if you were watching somebody else successfully achieve that goal, what would you see them doing? Those are the actions that you want to list underneath the goal. And again, if you, if there were things that you didn't get accomplished last week from your weekly intentions, it might just be an exercise of moving those over. Hey, Tracy. Yes, Jen? Is the new planner available on Amazon now or not? Because I need. I'm almost at the end of my book and I know I can print out the sheets, but I, I've missed the last few. Yeah, it should be available this week. Okay, they are. They're being checked in right now. And so it just takes a few days for that. So I'm watching it like a hawk. Like come on, you know me, God forbid I run out of my book. Yeah. So it's at, it's at five different major Amazon distribution centers so that you know, people who order through prime, they can actually get it quickly. And so when you do that it takes a lot longer for, for them to get checked in process. Right now.
Yeah, I'm having a problem with the fourth goal I don't have.
You don't have to have four. It's up to four. So I have clients that just have one now because this planner is meant to be your go to resource, the next page is a weekly to do list and this is meant for you to get all of the I shoulds out of your head and onto the paper. Often the reason why we don't make progress on our goals is because we're getting distracted. There are all these other, you know, shiny objects distracting us. We want to get all of those I shoulds. I have to. I need to's out of our head and onto paper. So places that I reference is my digital calendar. I'll reference my text, some of my emails, notes that I have sitting on the kitchen counter. Just all the little things. And this is probably outside. They're not probably related to your goal. So for me, I have the first of the month. We always give the dogs their heart guard and next guard. Here we are on the third and hasn't been done yet. So that's on my to do list for this week. I also need to make a vet appointment for one of the dogs. Um, it's things like that. Our hot water heater went out this morning. I need to call a repair man. Okay. So it's not necessarily tethered to your goal. These are all the other things that you want to make a commitment to getting done this week. But I want all of your executables in one place. So that's what this list is. So take a few minutes and compile all those non goal related to do's. Look back at last week's. Another great tip, look back at last week's and see if there's things that didn't get accomplished that you want to carry over.
So could you go over that non goals again? I was basically writing and trying to think of something.
Yep. So you're on. Yep. So for you, page 44. Page 44. And these are all of the non goal related to do's.
Oh Okay, I see the example now on page 38.
Yes, that.
Fine. I couldn't find it.
Yeah. Yep.
I don't have that many.
That's. That's a good thing. And then, you know, and that's a good point, Dave, that maybe right now you don't have many coming to mind. This is a living, breathing page. So as you go through your week and things come up again, this is the tool where I want you to compile all of the commitments, all of the executables in your life. I don't want you having a huge distribution of to do's. I don't want it to be in your texts and your emails and bulletin boards, mag, you know, underneath a magnet on your refrigerator. Put it all in one place so that you get to have kind of this sense of freedom that you know where everything is and you know where you're going to add things to. It captures everything and it lets your brain settle down. So don't be afraid to add to this list throughout the week. I have a refund from a company that I have. I've kind of been battling. I've been battling it through with my bank. Now my bank's in this, like, three month review process for this pretty large refund that I'm due from this company. I don't want to lose sight of that. So I carry that over week after week after week to just check in and see where we're at in that process. So it's things like that.
I got nothing.
Now. Okay, I heard you say I got nothing. Dave, the next sheet's for you. The next sheet is called the Brain Dump. Okay? This is a page that again, is meant for you to come back to every single day. And I want you to capture how it is that you are feeling and why. Okay, so you just said I've got nothing. That's a thought. Which probably makes you frustrated, maybe confused, maybe feeling defeated.
No, I am a little confused because this is, you know, everybody else knows what to do, and I'm Brandy Newey, you know.
Okay, so. But why is that a problem? Is that a problem?
To me, it is. I like to.
Tell me why, though. Tell me why.
I like to know what to do. I mean, I don't like not knowing what to do. I mean, it's like me going to a Starbucks, Panera Bread, trying to start up a conversation, not knowing how to focus on what I'm supposedly focusing on. I'm supposed to be focusing on, you know, my. Focusing on my, you know, you know, what I'm reading what she's reading what she know what, what specific to where we're at.
Okay, so time out. Time out. So, Dave, all of those. Everything you just said to me, all of those are thoughts that you believe are true. And I just want you to give me one emotion that describes how you're feeling when you're believing those things.
Lost.
Lost. Great. Okay. Okay, timeout. Let me talk. I want to know when. Do you want to continue to feel lost? Yes or no?
No. That's why I'm in this course.
Perfect. Okay, so let's focus on the fact that you are doing what you need to do. You're showing up to a lesson that's part of a course that you've decided to take to get you closer to your goals. Do you see that? Do you see that That's a choice to think and focus on that. That you have signed up for a course that's going to get you closer to what it is that you desire. Is that true? Yes or no?
Yes.
Okay. So when you can see that you've got two very distinct beliefs or thought processes. One of them makes you feel lost and the other one.
