How To Start Remote Sales Without Quitting Your Job

Shelley Young built a remote sales business while working full-time as a nanny by auditing her schedule hour by hour to find hidden time. She went from £900 to £4,200 monthly without quitting her job first, proving you don't need an all-or-nothing leap to start.

How to start remote sales without quitting your job. Yes, you heard me. Everyone online is telling you to quit your job and go all in on your side hustle or your new venture, but let's be real, you can't because you have rent to pay, or you have bills to pay, or your car payments, or you just have life to afford. And unfortunately, we're not all able to just quit our jobs and start something new every time we want a new life upgrade, right? We have to be realistic. But the thing that I see is instead of being realistic and creating a plan around their current situation, women typically just don't do anything about it at all. Because they see girls online and they think, well, if I can't quit my job like her, if I can't just go all in like her, then I'm not going to be successful. So I might as well not try at all. You are wrong. And you're wrong in the best way, because there is so much room and potential you have to achieve what you want. You have to be strategic about it. So that's what I'm gonna be sharing with you today, because that's how I did it. I was working as a nanny, 6:00 AM till 6:00 PM, 5 days a week, and I was still able to create a schedule where I wasn't completely burning myself out, doing remote sales on the side, to get to a point where I could replace my income with my nannying salary, and then go full-time. So I'm gonna tell you exactly how in this video. So you want to do this, but you think you have to quit your job. You shouldn't, and that is final. Do not quit your job until you have a proven concept. It's crazy to me that people think that they should just be quitting their jobs left, right, and center. And there's no shame, because I used to think that way too. So I used to hold my goals back. I used to not do the things that I wanted to do, because I couldn't just quit my job. But the problem right now is you think you don't have enough hours in the day to actually get it all done. The truth is, most of you here watching this do, and you might not want to hear that because it's just direct and honest, but it's true. So if you're actually serious about building your dream life and getting into remote sales and actually doing it full-time and making the income that you see me talk about and you see that my clients talk about, I want you to do this audit with me, and we're going to be breaking it down step by step, so you can actually see what's possible, and you can actually set yourself up for success. So first of all, I want you to grab a notepad and pen, or whatever you use, your laptop, your phone, your iPad, whatever. I typically think pen to paper is the best, and it is the easiest. Grab your pen, your pen and your pad, and I want you to write down everything I'm about to say, and I want you to be honest with yourself. First of all, what time do you wake up and what time do you start work? And what is the difference? How many hours are we talking? What is the difference between when you wake up and when you start work? In that block, is there a commute, getting ready? Do you have kids? Like, what's involved in that block? You may work from home, so you may be able to get up At 6:00 AM, you do a workout, then you have a couple of hours to chill, and then you start work at 9:00. Or you may get up at 6:00 AM, have kids, have to do XYZ, then travel an hour. Everyone's going to look different, but I want you to write out from the moment you wake up to the moment you have to start work, whatever that may be, how many hours do you have? And if you work shifts and do different things, write Monday through Sunday and write down every single day and how many hours do you have from the moment you wake up to the moment you start work. and I want you to be honest. Is there any extra time that you have in that morning? An hour or 2, 30 minutes, or none at all? You may have none at all, and that's totally okay. But what we're trying to do is spot the extra time you have in your schedule. And I want you to be honest with yourself. And I'm not saying that you have to take sales calls in that extra hour. You may have an extra 30 minutes, which means you could start meal prepping your lunches for the week, or meal prepping dinners for the week so you don't have to do that when you get home, which is going to buy you more time. But we'll get on to that in a moment. We're trying to be honest and creative with the time we have. What time do you have spare? Maybe you wake up at 8 AM and you could technically wake up half an hour or 45 minutes earlier. You know you could, just to organize your schedule for the week. That's what we're looking for. We're looking for honest space in your day and in your morning that we can Move around. Then you have your work block. Within your work block, some of you work from home, so you might have an 8-hour day that you can do in 4. Write down the hours you have free. Some of you might be a nurse, for example, and have 12-hour shifts, and then you've just got no time to do anything in those 12 hours. Totally fine. Write it down. The goal here is to be really honest with every single hour of our day, when we have available— oh, there's a fly— and when we don't. And it's— there's no right or wrong answer here, but we're doing a genuine audit. Maybe you get a 2-hour lunch break, but you're watching YouTube videos. Write down time that you technically have available. If that meant within the next 6 months you weren't in your job anymore and you were earning 3 extra income— like, we have to think in that mindset. Not everything can be easy overnight. We have to think in the mindset of, in 6 months, if I could 3, 4x my income and not be in this job, What would I be prepared to do? And that's what we're doing right now. We are doing the hard thing now for our future selves. Okay, and then after you finish work, the time you have available. Now, this is typically where you're going to have your most time, depending, or if you work night shift, you're going to have the day. So whatever that is for you, bear this in mind. Be honest. What are you— where are you spending your time? Are you spending an hour cooking dinner when you could have prepped it? You know, 2, 3 times a week for your next day. I do that. I don't cook dinner from scratch every day. I prep my meals. So I'll cook 2 to 3 times a week, and then I'll prep for the week ahead, because I don't have that time right now, because I want to focus on doing other things. So be honest with yourself. Are you spending 2 hours at the gym? Do you actually need to spend 2 hours at the gym if you want to achieve your goals? Could you spend 45 minutes to an hour instead? Yes, you could, but you may be thinking, but I don't want to sacrifice that time. What are you prepared to do so in 6 months' time you can 3 to 4x your income and have a lot more time? We have to be real. You cannot have a $10K outcome with a $1K effort and a $1K strategy. And I'm telling you what most people won't. I'm being honest with you, and if you don't want the honest truth, then this is not for you. But if you genuinely want to get out of the cycle that you've been in for far too long, we have to find extra time. We have to make this a priority. It is the only way to actually achieve our goals. So find out how many hours you have after work. Maybe you can go to bed an hour or 2 later. It's not ideal, but maybe it would be worth it if you could close a few sales calls. Think about the sacrifices that you are honestly prepared to make. And now I want you to calculate all the hours that you have free. Now, like I said, you may find an extra 30 minutes here, an extra 30 minutes there. That doesn't mean you're doing sales calls. That could mean you're planning your week ahead, you're cleaning the house, you're prepping your meals, you're doing other things you need to, to get them all done. So you have extra hours in a bigger block in your evenings, for example. But you want to be smart with your time. How can you make your week as efficient as possible. If you're a mum watching this, can you prep your kids' lunch boxes so in the morning it takes less time, so you can also do other jobs, so you have more evenings free? I'm not a mum, so I appreciate that is a very hard job in itself, but I'm just saying, I'm just saying, what is it that you can do in advance, thinking of your future self, to buy yourself back more time? And you Well, most likely, for the most of you watching this video, you will find 3 to 4 hours a day. You will. It may be a stretch, you may be tired, but you will probably find that you have around 3 to 4 hours a day, and you can get a sales job. You can get a sales job doing that. I would come home at 6:30 PM, I would have half an hour for dinner. Was it rushed? Yes. And I would go on sales calls for 3 hours Monday to Friday, and then I would do more on the weekends because I wanted to move out of my job ASAP. And I was able to do that. My first month I made £900 doing that, nothing to write home about. My second month I made £2,400, and my third month I made around £4,200. triple my nannying salary, part-time, because I did that audit that I've just asked you to do, and I found extra time in my day. And that is what I'm saying. That is the whole point. Is it easy? No. Is building your dream life and, and 4xing your income easy? No. Otherwise everyone would do it. And guess what? They don't. Will that mean you have to make sacrifices in the short term? Yeah, I'm gonna be real with you, you do. But is it worth it if you truly wanna make more money and have more freedom and flexibility? 100%. That is the audit I want you to do, because that is going to be crystal clear and very honest of the time that you have available, and it's going to also tell you what you are actually prepared to sacrifice. If you are not prepared to sacrifice other things, then you may not want this bad enough. And that is okay, by the way. It's okay. But just be honest with yourself so you're not beating yourself up on a daily basis thinking, I need to do this, I need to do that. No, you need to think about what is the absolute priority for you and then what you're willing to sacrifice. At the time, for me, getting out my nannying job, Getting out of scarcity and having that financial abundance and having more money, just facts, was my priority. So I gave up other things to get there. Once I got there, I had more freedom and more flexibility, so I didn't need to sacrifice as much. But it's going to take some sacrifice at first. And there's a reason I love this plan so much. It's because it's structured. We, we don't want to burn you out. You know, we're not in a position— yeah, you're gonna work hard. Yeah, you're gonna have some days where you might feel a bit more tired or a little bit more exhausted than you normally would. But we're not looking to work you to the bone and burn you out. And breaking down the hours in your day will allow you to feel more ahead of the game. Like I said, something as simple as meal prepping for your week ahead will allow you to feel less stressed. So when you come home from work, you're not panicking and stressing that you've got to get your groceries, Prep them, cook them, do the dishwasher, clean the kitchen, all these things after. That's like not a quick job. That's like a full-on hour plus. The more prepared you can be, the lower your cortisol, the lower the stress, the more you can still remain in your feminine while also dedicating time to different areas. Maybe you spend 2 hours every week doing a deep clean of the house rather than trying to just clean it up frantically every single day. That will give you more time, lower your cortisol, and allow you to be more in your feminine. It's setting yourself up for success, not putting yourself in the way for failure. Who's ever tried to do like a diet plan or a weight loss plan where you're like, no, no sugar, no chocolate, no carbs, no nothing, I'm just gonna go cold turkey and I'm just gonna do it? And most of us, within 2 weeks Go, I need sugar, and you quit. We're not doing that. We do not want to set you up for failure like that type of diet plan. This has to become a lifestyle change. We have to understand where we can move things and what we can do and how we can prep and how we can organize ourselves to actually see success. So yes, I know this video will help if you implement what I said. If you didn't follow the the checkpoints now. Go back now, get your notepad and pen, and start doing that. Be very honest with yourself because you're going to be surprised at the time that you actually have to dedicate to this. Maybe you don't have that time every single day. Fine, nothing's perfect. Maybe you can do it 4 times a week. That 4 times a week is enough to get into remote sales and make a start. I'm not promising $10K months with it. I'm not promising $20K months with it. I'm just saying a start, a start to make some money online, a start to chip away at the future you want, to start building momentum. And that is what I want for you, just like how it's worked for me and hundreds of women I've worked with. So yeah, hope you enjoyed, hope this has been helpful, and I'll see you in the next one.
