Hi guys. Welcome back to my channel. We are going to be discussing today why you can't get hired for a high ticket sales role. And there are going to be a few different reasons depending on kind of where you're at to if you're going to struggle to get hired or if you're going to find it super easy. But this is specifically for the people who have invested in mentorship. They have the training, they, but they've got no experience. And I get asked this question all the time like, can I get a job if I have no experience? If you've got no training, it's going to be near impossible. But if you've got a good mentor and good training and you're still struggling, there's probably a few things that you're missing in your interview prep. So let's get into it. Number one and in my opinion, actually the most important is you don't have conviction, you don't have self belief and you put yourself down. I actually had a training call today with the girls inside of my program, the Female sales accelerator. And we did interview training together on a live call. And I had one of my students, she mentioned about her previous sales experience that was more corporate and she wondered how she could pitch and phrase that in a interview or in an intro video. And I asked her to explain her current, like what that experience was to give me some context so I could help. And immediately she was like, I've only done it for six months or it was a quiet job or you know, we didn't make much commission or it was only this and it was only that. And that is our first mistake, especially as women. I've noticed since coaching a lot of women, we tend to make ourselves smaller, we tend to put ourselves down when a lot of the time men will do the complete opposite. And even if they're not qualified, they'll go for the job and big themselves up anyway. We need to have the right amount of feminine and masculine energy in this industry. Of course we want to sell in our feminine energy and build that soft life. But you can't hustle in your feminine, you have to hustle in your masculine. You can't get opportunities by kind of being super soft. You have to go out and claim them, you have to go out and take them. And that's exactly what I said. I said your first mistake is that you're putting yourself down. You've only done this and you've only done that. Instead, command the space, demand the energy. I have done XYZ And I generated XYZ and I was successful because. And I was a top performer because it's having conviction in who you are and why you are there. When I got my first ever high ticket sales job, I did have no experience, but I had conviction. And I got my first ever position out of 150 applicants, applicants with experience. I landed the position over them because of my conviction. So whether you have a bit of experience or not, the same rule applies. You need to have conviction in yourself. Why are you there? Why do you deserve the opportunity over people who have experience or whatnot? And I can't stress enough, it is not good enough to just say, well, I've been in the sales space for a few months and I've invested in training and I've applied to a bunch of jobs, so I have to be, it has to be me. You don't deserve anything. You don't deserve the handout. You don't deserve someone to be like, oh, poor you, you know, you've been in the sales space a while, you've had bad luck. It's your turn now. Absolutely not. You have to command the opportunity. You have to show up to that interview and really sell yourself. Your interview will be your first ever close. So it's time to see what you're made of. Do you believe in yourself and can you portray that to the interviewer so they believe in you too? It is so important. Number two, you must be punctual. And this probably seems like a no brainer, but it's not. I have calls all the time, you know, sales calls with people who shop late and it's pretty crazy. And I have a story of a lovely girl in my program who I referred to an offer. It was a really good offer and she showed up on time, but she was having technical difficulties with her Zoom account, so actually it wasn't working. And she was like eight minutes late because it wasn't allowing her to enter the Zoom room. Now, even though she was on time, the interviewer completely disregarded her because he was like, well, you were late. Because he didn't know all the ins and outs, nor did he care, especially in this fast paced industry. He just wants to get on interview, hire or fire and move on with it. And that is very much the mindset of this space. So for her, she wasn't able to get the opportunity then and there. Luckily it was a referral so I could explain the situation. And I think she's been able to jump back on the interview since and kind of go through everything. But a lot of the time you're not going to have that luxury. It was a very lucky position that I knew the person and obviously yes, it wasn't her fault. She wasn't late because she wasn't punctual. But obviously with the zoom playing up, that kind of bled into her, possibly not getting the role. So what I'm trying to say is, if you're a punctual person, show up 15 minutes early, make sure your zoom's good, make sure everything's set up so you've got no technical difficulties. If you're not a punctual person and you find yourself being late again, make sure you're 10, 15 minutes early, make sure you're over prepared. You can't have a 10k outcome with a 1k strat strategy. You need to ensure you are the best possible candidate. You are early, you are ready, you are knowledgeable, you are the person they would want to hire. It's so, so important. Number three is you are not prepared. What I mean by this is you don't know what they're going to ask you in the interview. You don't know if they're going to ask you questions, personal questions. You don't know if they're going to make you do a role play. You don't know what is coming. So prepare for everything. You need to ensure that you have role played these interview questions. Make sure that you have practiced. For example, and I've said this in a previous video is the most common asked question is tell me about yourself. You should have that answer nailed. You should know that answer so, so confidently so you can make the best, best first impression. Because we all know the first 60 seconds is when someone's going to judge you when they meet you. So make that count. Wow. The person from the get go when it comes to a role play, you should be able to role play and you should be confident. If you aren't in a position where you can confidently show up and rehearse your skill set, you should not be on that interview. There is no point wasting good opportunities because you want to get a job and you want to make money, but you don't deserve it. Again, there's no point having a 10k effort. Sorry, a 10k strategy with a 1k effort, it's not going to work, especially in a competitive industry like this. And if you've got no experience, you need to really show the interviewer why you should be hired. Why should they take a bet on you when they're risking Leads that they have paid for to bring you on the calendar. Like it's not charity work. They don't need to hire you. Make it count. Make them realize why they should bet on you by showing your skill set, showing what you are capable of. It is your one opportunity. So you need to be pra like well rehearsed and you need to know your stuff. Number four is you don't look the part. You don't look like a remote sales professional or a remote sales specialist. This is a very high paying job and a very high paying industry. If you're showing up in just a T shirt or a hoodie or and I've said this so many times, so many times, you're all going to know this by now. But just to say it one more time, if you're showing up looking scruffy, if you haven't put on a nice shirt or a nice waistcoat, if you don't look like you're ready for a corporate interview, then you're not ready. You need to be professional. You need to look good. Do not have a messy background, do not have your bed in the background. If you need to, if you've got nowhere else to go in your house, find, find ahead of time a nice zoom background. You can like screenshot like a picture of an office and you can set it as your background so that is your wallpaper so they can't see anything behind you. If that is the only thing you can do, do it and that is totally fine. Make sure you're well presented. Put in that effort. Like if you think about how much effort you put in if you're going on a night out with your friends or if you're going on a date or for Instagram, you need to put that effort in a professional capacity for this interview. It is so appointment, so important. Especially with sales being a people facing role. Even if you're a DM setter, you're still going to be showing up to team meetings and you still have interviews. And if you want to be promoted to a closer, they're going to look at how you present yourself even as a DM setter to see if they want you front of house. So how you look is how you are judged and how you come across. So make it count. And last but not least, you are not exciting and you are not memorable. And I don't mean to sound harsh when saying this, but this is a human to human interaction. You need to be someone who is memorable. Especially if there's a lot of candidates People have to like you. As we know the core principle of sales, if someone likes you, they'll trust you. And if they'll trust you, they'll buy. In this case, they'll hire. So that is what we need to do. We need to make the interviewer laugh. We need to make the interviewer drop their guard. We need to be smiley. We can use our feminine superpowers to do this. Now, I'm not saying flirty by any means and that is a very, very fine line. So be very careful. But you can be very innocently. You, you can be happy, you can be smiley, you can be positive and joke, still serious. You can do those things and be memorable. If you think the interviewer is interviewing a ton of people, it's the same question after the same question. The same nervous candidate after the same nervous candidate. What is going to make you different? If you have no experience, all you can do is sell yourself. You are relying 100% on you. So pull out all the stops. You want to impress them, you want to make a good first impression, you want to be a good culture fit. I have one of the girls in my program got the offer on the condition, so got the job on the condition that in her first week she's on a probation or I think it might be her first week or month, I can't remember, she got the probation that to make sure she's a good culture fit. That is what these teams are looking for. They're not only looking for skill, they're looking for culture fit. I would not hire, when I was a manager, I would not hire very skilled reps if they weren't a good culture fit because there was no point. Sales is hard, sales is draining at times. We need a good energy in the team. We need to make sure the team like each other and all the team support each other. So if someone's on a good culture fit, it's not going to work. So make sure you are a good culture fit. Do research on the company, what are their core values? What are kind of other reps in the company? What are they like? Be the right coach fit, mold yourself to what they're looking for and you will be undeniable. Like you will never get rejected from an interview again. I hope you enjoyed definitely take that feedback on board. If you implement all those five steps, there is absolutely no reason at all you will ever get rejected from a high ticket sales interview ever again.
