Hello and welcome to another episode of the Becoming Bulletproof podcast. And I am bringing you quite the little dynamo today. I met this little firecracker about a month ago, and I could tell the minute I was around her that I was going to fall in love with her. Her spirit, her soul, her energy, her wisdom, her smile. But don't let that beautiful face and smile fool you. She is. She is brilliant. And at the young age, I think she's in her early 30s. Last time we chatted, I think that's what she said. The history this girl has and the extensive amount of experience and just grit and just willing to be messy and just figure it out is definitely one for the books. Ms. Lauren Schwab lives in California. She is a beautiful young woman. She's an expert in health and wellness, mind, body, connection. One of the things I loved about her was this creation she came up with called Unplugged Mornings. And we're going to talk about what it means to really be unplugged, because I know most of you are entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, busy moms, busy dads that are burning the candle at both ends. I know all of you fit into that category one way or the other. And we hear this, oh, you gotta unplug. You gotta unplug. And we're like, mm, that's real nice in theory, but you don't know my life, right? I know that you're thinking that right now. And I want you to know Lauren and I both understand exactly where you are. And sometimes we need to really unplug, to slow down in order to speed up and really be present enough to understand what your calling is. We're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk about how important it is to choose one thing, pick a Lane, go all in. Give it six months and just give it all you got. I mean, that's really how you begin to know kind of what you're supposed to do. And you know, I've got kids in their 20s and I tell them that exact thing, like pick something, try it, see if it's for you. If not, no harm, no foul. So we're going to talk about that, about how consistency is important and how important connection is, whether it's, you know, online or in person. And I think you will all agree that some of us, the online intra web and super web and all of that, and social media is great. And I think we're all feeling more disconnected than ever. And this little beauty is going to explain to us how to really bring that connection back into real life. Not just, you know, Susie on Instagram here and there. This little firecracker also runs Masterminds. She has this niche where she trains retreat coaches. So I know there's many of you out there wanting to do live in person retreats, you know, three, four, five day workshops, maybe even some overseas workshops, things like that. She is now teaching people how to put on successful retreats with her very own retreat launch formula. We're going to talk about all the good things and we are going to hear like her heart and soul and you guys, like, there is so much more to her story, but it is great. We are going to get all of it. She is also an enneagram3. So for all my achievers out there, you just might as well buckle up because we are going for quite the ride. Hello, Ms. Lauren.
Hello, beautiful. Thank you so much. My gosh, that introduction. I'm going to do my best to live up to that. I'm going to take you in my pocket to every event that I speak at and have you do my introduction.
You know, I should just be the emcee for all events because I love introing people based on just what I observe because I'm quite the observer. And I have to be honest, when I observed you, my goodness, there's nothing but pure love oozing out of your body and a heart of service. And at your age, I mean, you've got so much under your belt. But, you know, here we are today. Lauren's been in magazines, tv, all over the world, like doing all the things right and most of it was messy, would you agree? And that's the, that's the thing, especially as an enneagram 3. Like you don't really like to look messy, but you kind of broke the Enneagram 3 mold with messiness and just willing to do and figure it out the hard way. Right?
Yeah, you're right on that. I remember being called an overachiever in school. And as much as that, like, kind of was embarrassing, it kind of like hurt my feelings. I never let it stop me. And back in school, I definitely was a perfectionist 100%. If I didn't get 100% on everything, to me, a 99% was failing. And it was like tantrums. I would be on the ground crying, like, beating my fists like I'm not good enough, all this kind of stuff. And I don't know exactly where all that came from. And I could go super deep into that, but. But I really wasn't getting the results I actually wanted in life until I started doing it messy. So instead of, I finally was able to say, you know what? I'm going to allow and going to accept the messy, and I'm going to start failing a bunch because playing it safe didn't get me past a certain level. I just stayed at the same level all the time. And from the outside, everyone's like, lauren's perfect. She does everything perfect. It's so great. But I actually felt very stuck and very unhappy. And so it was when I actually started failing and just taking messy action, just doing the things even when they were hard or I didn't want to do them, that's when I actually started leveling up. And now I can be where I'm at today because of all of those failures that really were just feedback.
So I know that, like in high school and like, you were a 4.5Sport Athlete 4.0 student. I mean, you lived up to the Achiever 3 enneagram role for sure. And then, you know, after college, you move out to Cali with a U haul. And, you know, you said this to me earlier. You know, you've always been part of a team and you really thrived in that environment. Yet even being part of that team, you kind of were journeying out to California because something. Maybe you're searching for something, right? But then you get out there and it's like, okay, this isn't what I thought.
Right?
Yeah, exactly. And I don't know exactly what I was searching for or seeking. But I did stay in Kansas to play basketball in college because when I was talking to other schools, I actually got offered a full ride to a D1 school. And I had a conversation with my grandfather who has always been my coach. He coached me since I was, you know, 2 years old and could carry a ball. And he's been my mentor and just somebody that I really look up to that I strive to be like him or a little more like him every day. And he said, well, hey, if you happen to end up saying yes to any of those Kansas teams, like, I'll be at every single one of your games. I won't miss a game.
But.
But I'm also so proud of you and everything you've achieved. And if you go to that other school, that's great too, right? It's like, that's all I need to hear, Gramps. I'll stay here, like, okay, done deal. Because who else? I mean, it wouldn't matter to me at all to look up in the stands if he wasn't up there, right? It's like, okay, why would I go to this other school if he can't be there? So anyways, because I made that decision. I did also know that small town girl from Kansas needed a culture shock and she needed to get out of there if she was going to grow and expand. And there was just something so big inside of me that was kind of contained there, there if I didn't get out of there. So I was like, you know what, I'll just go on the one year plan and go check it out and see what it's all about. See what else is out there in the world. And that's when I, yeah. Headed out to Venice, California, of all places.
From little Kansas, little town. Yeah. Culture shock. I got what I was looking for.
Quite the education, huh? Yeah, yeah, that's exactly where like it's looking at Venice, California, like that's like the hub of fitness. And wasn't that where the first Gold gym was? Oh yeah. And all of that. And so I know moving to California, that's kind of where you ended up, was in the health and fitness space, right?
Yeah. And you know, it's really cool because I do not believe in accidents. I believe that I ended up exactly where I was supposed to. And so many people ask me now, you know, coming from Kansas and living in California, it's this big city and just swallows you up and it just changes you. And it's probably so hard to meet really great people there. They probably all just are stuck up and into themselves and whatever. And I'm like, you know what? It's actually not my experience. I meet incredible people and they all happen to be people that left their small towns and came out here with a big dream and they're very like minded, they're very awesome. So not my experience at all. And also at the same time, if I stay true to who I am and who that same girl is from Kansas and come out here and I spread that love, that Midwest manors and all of that, all over Venice, California and Hollywood, California and all of that and allow others to rise to that same occasion and see that, hey, you can come out here and not change and not be different in that way. Change in a way for growth, of course, but not in a negative way. And this is the place where it is all happening. So whatever's happening here is going to spread all over the world. So it starts here and it's like if you can come to Hollywood and spread all that love unconditional, all that stuff, it's like, this is where it's going. This is how we're going to heal the world. So the people that are called here, I believe are the healers that will completely heal the world. So I don't believe it's an accident that I'm here and that there's so many incredible, amazing people here.
So that being said, you said like, this is a place where everything's happening and all the things and it's go, go, go, go, go. And yet you hit this point where you feel like, okay, that's good. And there's this. I need to unplug somehow to fill back up, I'm assuming, right?
Mm.
Because it's one thing to be output, output, output, but if there's no kind of input, you're going to crash and burn. Is that what happened?
Yeah. And I learned that lesson again, not by accident. Someone from my co ed softball league anonymously submitted me for a reality show. And this reality show, turns out was a competition show that we're going to compete for $100,000. And so I imagined going to this, coming back in the best shape of my life and just being on fire, whereas it was completely opposite. And funny enough, it was actually called opposite worlds. And so I ended up living in a cave for 60 days. So talk about truly unplugging, right? So I was forced. I wouldn't have done this on my own. You think I would have signed up to live in a cave for 60 days? Hey, I need to unplug. I'm going to live in a cave.
Hard pass, hard pass on that one.
Hard pass, right? Like I'm going to be emaciated, lose 30 pounds in like two weeks. Like the first week. Oh, buy muscles. Took me a year to recover from that, literally. So, yeah, no, I was forced. And at the time, I didn't realize what was actually going on, that God put me there for a specific plan and purpose. I knew I wouldn't be there if I wasn't supposed to be, but I just didn't know what yet. You know, relationships, all these things happen. You're like, I know there's a reason. I just don't know what it is yet. But what it was is God was showing me that all of these outlets that we plug into in our life to make us more comfortable, right? We could go down the route of our fan at night so we sleep better. Our nutribullet for our protein shakes and our phone to connect and our computer to make money, and all these things that we plug into curling irons to do our hair right, they all make us a little more comfortable. And we kind of feel like sometimes we can't live without them. I really feel like I can't live without my fans. Sometimes I even call it my biggest fan. Taking my biggest fan on my trip with me. I call ahead to hotels. You got my biggest fan. No, no, I really do that, actually. So anyways, then I started thinking about all the other external outlets that I would plug into when I may be trying to fill a void or I'm not happy, I'm seeking happiness. And so either to make me forget for a second, temporary, right? Temporary pleasure. So I would plug into maybe alcohol, drugs, or relationship after relationship or retail therapy, thinking that, you know, when I get this or if I have this, then I'm going to be happy. And of course, we all know that that never happens that way, especially when we're seeking so much outside of ourselves. So what I realized is that God was teaching me that it would never be anything external that we plug into that's going to actually make us comfortable. It's actually going to be the act of unplugging from those external comfort zones and plugging into our internal comfort zone, which is actually ourselves. So plugging into our purpose, our calling, our, like my grandpa would say, our raison d', etre, which means reason for being. And he would always say, and this is another thing growing up, right? He's like, lauren, what's your raison d'?
Etre?
And I'm just like, grandpa, whatever. He's like, no, what's your reason for being? That's the thing that's going to keep moving you forward in life. Like, you'll never give up if you know why you're here, and it's so powerful. But I finally got it when I was, you know, unplugged in this cave for so long. Because what else are you going to do besides think and be with your thoughts? I mean, it's the true definition of stillness, going within, meditation, prayer. It's all of that, because you have no other choice. You literally have nothing else to plug into besides yourself. So it's like, of all things, I could never have thought in my life or imagined that that would be the place I would end up to learn this lesson. But it taught me so much more than that. It's like once I actually got clear on who I was and why I was here, and I could be in alignment with that, it was like, okay, I can go out and serve the world now. I can actually go out and help people. I can remove myself from the equation and actually really serve people in the way that they want to be served. But I also learned about gratitude. My gosh, I thought I was the most grateful person in the world. I signed every email with gratitude, Lauren. Like, how could you not feel more grateful than that, right? But it was just like, I wasn't grateful to brush my teeth. Not that I was ungrateful. I just had never had my toothbrush taken away, right? So it was like, man, I didn't know what it was like to not have that. So now I realize when I get up, I want to thank God for a toothbrush and toothpaste and the ability to drive to the store in a car to get toothpaste and a toothbrush to be able to financially afford it, because there are people in the world who cannot afford those things, right? So it's like, unconsciously, we take things for granted all the time, every single moment of the day. And it takes something like living in a cave and having everything, you know, stripped away. I mean, I didn't have one thing that I owned, right? It was nothing. And I realized in that moment, too, that we don't actually own anything in life. And the moment that we think we own something, it actually owns us. Everything's borrowed. Every single thing. Our bodies are borrowed. Our parents are borrowed. Our friends and family are our cars. Every single thing is borrowed. At some point, we will have to give it back or it will be taken away from us. And it can be in the blink of an eye, it can be gone. So knowing that, I'm like, wow, my grandparents could be gone in a second. You know, like, I have to be so grateful for every opportunity and chance I Get to go be with them. Like, my freaking toothbrush can get taken away. So I need to appreciate every time I get to brush my teeth. Like, man, that is a luxury to be able to do that. So it was this wild experience, and I really realized that gratefulness and faithfulness were equal. They weren't above. It's like every single moment, we need to be grateful for every single thing in our life. And so that experience really showed me what that meant. And I could go on and on about human connection and, you know, social media and comparison and all this. Everything I learned in that cave. So that experience in itself, that's like, all I needed really, to change my entire life.
Okay, y', all, so just sign up to get into a cave for 60 days and you are solid.
So, you know, my son, he.
Has gone on a couple three day complete solitude retreats, 21 years old. It's crazy. Like, what?
It's the greatest thing and the most uncomfortable thing he's ever done. Because you realize when you're alone with nothing but your thoughts, how you realize how ungrateful you've been or the things you take for granted or how crazy when left to its own devices, it can take you off a path that God never wanted you on. Right?
Yes.
It's amazing. So in the solitude, you realize that unplugging is really necessary. So how do you come out of that and then start applying that to business and. And doing all the things that you're doing today? Because it's one thing, I mean, you can understand, like, so many people will do the thing, they'll get the high off of it. It's like the event high or the experience high. And then they go back into everything that they've always done because it's just easier than actually honoring the process you just went through.
So the first thing that I did was realize that it was a necessity for me to continue to create experiences like that in my life. No one else was going to do it for me or make me back and do something like that. So I got to create that for myself. And so I immediately, when I got out of there, I signed up to hike Kilimanjaro in Africa, knowing that I'm going to turn my phone off for a month and I'm going to go have another experience like this where I'm just fully immersed in nature, unplugged, and able to, like, continue to learn more and more about myself. And I would then after this experience, too, I also would go very old school. So when I Made plans with somebody. I left my phone at home, and I would show up on time. Because back in the day, if you didn't show up, they're going to leave. Like, they're not going to wait for you. You can't tell them you're going to be late, like, whatever. And so I just created all these, like, ways to be more old school, to forget the phone, to be unplugged. And then I realized, okay, Lauren, that's all great. Like, you can't, you know, just tell people to go live in a cave and hike Kilimanjaro and do this or whatever. But every single morning when they wake up, they have access to this, where they get to stay unplugged for however that long they want. Five minutes, 10, 20, an hour. And they stay unplugged and disconnected from the outside world, from the chaos, from the noise and all that. And they stay plugged into themselves. And so that's when I created the nine step process using the word unplugged, because my grandpa loves to do that stuff. So I was like, oh, this is perfect. And so I created those steps so that people can choose one or do all nine, right? So maybe you're just more in the mood for reading. So that step l would be learning. So every day when you get up, you read first. You get in your Bible, you get in your devotional, whatever book you're reading. But each of the steps is set up to be standalone or together.
The first one is universe. And so this is connecting with yourself, whether that's prayer, meditation, or stillness, really just checking in. First thing to ask yourself what your body actually needs. The in is nourishment. So I always have a cup of water next to my bed. First thing I do is I rehydrate. Because we overnight, we dehydrate. It's been at least hopefully eight hours if you're getting the right amount of sleep. So you want to first before coffee, before you continue to dehydrate more, hydrate up, drink the water, nourishment. And then just being really conscious of what we're putting in our body. The P is play. So, like, having fun every single day and actually putting time in for that. Of course, this is your unplugged step. So this isn't like, turn on the music and play, but just dance. Like, just whatever's in your feeling, in your body. Play with your dog, play with your husband, play with your boyfriend, whatever, right? Just take time to play. Maybe go outside and dance and just feel the sun on your face. The L is learn, like I mentioned, so old school books. So whether you're studying, learning a new word, dictionary, whatever it is, so it's not audio, not audible books or anything like that. The other U is unleashing. So this is letting go and this is forgiveness. And so something that may have happened the day before, maybe with a partner, a friend, you don't like how you showed up in that, so you actually forgive yourself first and then you forgive that person. So forgive yourself for your part and then forgive the other person. Because that's just extra weight we're carrying around that we could just leave like let it go that morning. It's gone. Let it go. I have a whole process for that too. And then the two GS are gratitude and generosity. So we've obviously talked about gratitude. But a lot of times when I feel like I'm in a funk, I'll be like, stop, drop and do some gratitude. And I'll write out as many things as I can think of. But this is just a practice where you choose one to five things that you're grateful for just right there in that moment. And it just shifts your perspective, it shifts your mindset into abundance versus lack. So we're focusing, seeing on what we have, not what we don't have, the generosity. So the next G is what's one thing that you're going to do that's generous for another human being today. So it doesn't have to be monetary, it doesn't have to be donation or buying them coffee or whatever. It could literally be your time. Like I'm going to call my friend because I know she's going through a hard time and I'm going to give her my time. Or I'm going to help a stranger with directions today when they look lost. Because a lot of times we just see people, we cover our face and we go the other direction when we could really just take a second to help somebody. And then the last two are E and D exercise. So movement to me is 100% my medicine. Making sure that I get some sort of movement in, whether it's a walk or a run, some push ups, some yoga, stretching, first thing in the morning to get the blood flowing, the brain working. And then the last one is D. So this is declare. You can use this as your I am statements. You can use it as something that pertains to the day. Like I am going to show up for my friend today in the best possible way or I am going to crush this Interview. I am beautiful. I am confident. This is just declaring what you actually want. So focusing more on what we want in our life and not what we don't want.
Boy, that was so great, you guys. You can rewind the last five minutes. Listen to that over and over and over. I was taking mad notes, writing it all down. It's going to go on my whiteboard sitting across from me as soon as we are off this recording. But my goodness. So you go from being unplugged, which, I mean, I think it's this morning thing is everything, and I've been doing a lot of this, and it is a game changer in every aspect of life, and you actually get a lot more done.
Oh, my gosh. Yes, you do. Less is more.
But then you go from being unplugged to knowing how important connection is. Right. And there's, like, this dance between the two. So where do you go from realizing how unplugged and being old school, which I freaking love. Like, yeah. Leaving the phone at home and then just showing up on time, like, concept. Instead of saying, here, here, or running.
Five minutes late or whatever, it's like, no, you just gotta be there.
Exactly. So after going old school and living life like that, which I love, I do a lot of that, too. And it's every time I do it, I'm like, why don't I do more of this? Mmm. Right. Because we become such a prisoner to the external sometimes. And.
Yes.
But then I think it also. I think where you're gonna go with this, like, when we realize how connected we are to the external, it actually robs us of connecting with the very things that we want.
Mm.
Is that kind of where it brought you?
Yes. And it's really cool to look at. And I always say this, and there's these things I feel like people say they're cliche, but I feel like it's just truth. Like, there's a reason why someone said it in the first place. And the thing I'm thinking of right now is, like, serve yourself first. Like, be there for yourself first. Show up for yourself 100%, so you can show up for everybody else around you 100%. And we just get that backwards. And talk about enneagram. Right? I'm a three, but then I'm a nine, two. So I'm like peacemaker, helper. So it's like, yes, I want to achieve, but I also want to keep the peace and I want to help people. And so kind of the dance of that has been very interesting. For me.
But I know 100% that if I don't fill my cup first and I don't fill it up with love and joy and abundance and acceptance, that I am not going to be able to serve others. Like, I'm just not. So now I think of it as like, fill yourself up and serve from the overflow. And I want to make sure what I'm filling myself up with is, like I said, love and joy and abundance because that's what's going to overflow into others light and joy is going to overflow. But if I'm serving myself with emails and distractions and all this kind of stuff and so I'm feeling anchored and I'm feeling like judgmental and resentful, if I'm filling myself up with that, that's the overflow that's going to come out and that's what I'm actually going to pour onto other people. So all of a sudden I'm going to be judging and I'm going to be resentful and I'm going to be angry and I'm going to all these things. And it's just because that's what I'm allowing myself to serve. Like, no matter what we're filling, we're taking stuff in at all times. So from the tv, from our computers, from our phones, we are consuming and we are being filled. So that's why it's so important to know what we're being filled with. So all that to say when I'm getting up in the morning and I'm reading my Bible, I'm reading my book, I'm moving my body, I'm drinking water, I'm feeling so great. Then I go to my computer after that and I get an email that's the exact same email I would have checked an hour before. And this time I get to respond with love instead of react with anger and resentment. Like, I can't believe they would send me this blah, blah, blah. And if I would have wrote out my answer right then I would have regretted what I said later because later I'm going to feel better again when I do something same for myself. So being able to do that allows you to connect with yourself first and be so connected with yourself that it's just like the next thing that happens that you would connect with others, right? So it's like, and you're going to be this bright light that people are attracted to, so you're going to be able to connect better with other people. They want to be around your Energy. It all really comes down to energy. We can talk about attachment styles and all that kind of stuff, but it's like you're going to avoid people that don't have good energy. You're going to be drawn to people that have good energy. And so this allows you to be able to connect in such a deeper, more meaningful way with others.
Is that how you ended up doing retreats? And then, like, facilitating this experience for people, like bringing them to an unplugged kind of environment, giving them all the goods that you've learned, and the next thing you know, they're like, boy, you're really good at this. Can you teach me how to do this, too?
Teach me how to. Dougie, teach me how to retreat. Yeah, and it's that same thing we were talking about a little bit ago. I said, we can't force people to do anything, but we can create the experience and create the space and curate this experience for them. So a lot of times people will tell them, hey, here's the nine steps. It's available to you. It's accessible to you every morning for free. You get to wake up and all these things are really at your fingertips for free. And you have these answers within you. But we still don't do it. Even though we have the information, we still don't do it. And that's why I created the retreats, because I'm like, okay, I know you're not going to force yourself to do this at home. You're still going to get up, check your phone first, and go on about your day. But if you come to this retreat and you actually implement this for four to five days, it'll start to be a habit. You'll be like, wow, I felt so good for those four or five days when I got up and journaled and read and moved my body and did yoga. And you know what? I think I'm going to keep doing this for a couple more days because it feels so good. And then all of a sudden, I hear from people like, oh, I've been doing this for 60 days or 100 days or 300 days, and it feels so good. And I've changed my life completely. So it's kind of like when someone. You're, like, curious, and then someone invites you. So, like, church, right? You're curious, but you're never going to go on your own. And then someone invites you, you come and you're going forever. And it's so incredible, changes your life. Same thing that with the retreats, I'm going To create this experience, I'm going to set it up in a way for you to be able to fully unplug. You're going to have crazy awareness, crazy breakthroughs. It's just going to happen because you're actually un unplugged and you're just with yourself. It's like what happens in nature when you go on a hike or why you get your best ideas on the toilet or in the shower when you actually don't have your phone in your hand, right? You get these great ideas. So that's what it is. It's like kind of the jumpstart your life, you know, jump start your joy. Like, come here, unplug, see what comes up for you, see what happens and go from there. And like you said, after that, people are experiencing that, loving that other people are like, well, I want to host retreats and create these experiences, so teach me how. And then, boom, I'm a retreat coach.
And how long has that been going on?
So that's been, I guess just over a year that I've been doing the coaching, the retreat launch formula. And I've had some such incredible clients that have already. I have one client, she's about to do her fifth retreat like that. I mean, it's insane. I have people selling out their retreats, comboing it with coaching, making good money, changing lives. I mean, I mean the biggest thing with retreats is the impact over the income. You have to care about people and you have to have a servant heart.
I know there's so many of you listening that like she's speaking your language right now because you're telling me. I mean, I think we have all gotten like, great. It's great that we can learn things online and take courses and get on webinars and things like that. And that's all really great, but there's nothing like a live experience and taking us out of our environment and our element to really move the needle and change some things. And I know so many of you, that's kind of what you're wanting to do. You want more immersion experiences, things like that. And if that is your jam, you must find this girl because she will help you do that. And that being said, you've done that. And then this last year also there's a mastermind that you've developed with a partner and it's going amazing. And you're taking a lot of the principles you've learned along the way through your journey, which is honestly, I know that you'll agree with this too. You know, there's all these certifications for shit out there, but it's really those people that have experienced it and implement it in their life, which you are the poster child for your very own work. Right. And I think that's what makes you so powerful, not just in the retreat space, but now in the Mastermind space. So for somebody that's looking to, like, we're speaking their language right now. I already know, like, they're like, okay, they're looking up Lauren Schwab on the gram and like, who is this amazing girl? And I want what she's having. So what does the Mastermind with Lauren look like?
Okay, I'm so glad you asked this. It's so exciting. And here's what happens. And for anyone that has, you know, done coaching at all and done one on one coaching, you get to a point with one on one coaching and you're maxed out. Like, you're booked out, your schedule is full and there's a cap. You can't go beyond that. You don't have any more. You have to create more of you, maybe hire more people to come on and coach, but then they want to work with you. And so it's just one of these things where you're like, okay, well, what's the next thing do I want to do group coaching? And how is that going to look? And you know, I joined a Mastermind myself and I saw the power of the group of what I really look at it like they are the masters of their mind. So bring together all the masters of these minds and they bring something unique and different to the group. And it's so cool because not only are you getting the coaches or the facilitators that are running the Mastermind, but every single person in the Mastermind brings something so cool, epic to the table. So all of a sudden, it becomes collaboration over competition 100%. And I just feel like the only way for us to get ahead in life is to collaborate. And the only person you should ever be competing with is yourself. And that's a tangent, so we won't go down that. But that is why these masterminds are so powerful. And so I was able to take everything that I loved, right? The retreats, the live events, the human connection, the people, and bring them all together into one space. And that's where the Mastermind was born. And so that way I could service out all the rest of my one on one clients. And then I would free up. This time I would come into collaboration with a partner to host this mastermind. And then we would work really diligently to bring all of the masters of their minds together. And so it's really cool because within our six month transformational leadership program, we have three live events. And I don't know many other masterminds that are actually doing three. I know some that do one or two, but we really want to focus on bringing people together. So that is our main focus, is what can happen when you actually get in the rooms with people, you sit next to people, you have these incredible conversations and these breakthroughs that literally change your life, change your business. Like in a moment. Like, I've had so many conversations like that where I'm like, oh, my life will never be the same because of this conversation I just had. Right. This person that I just met. And so we really want to keep creating those experiences, so bringing in live events and retreats and whatnot. And then my business partner is Social Media Strategies Systems. And so it was such a cool collaboration partnership because she brought something to the table that I don't bring to the table. And so it was absolutely perfect. So not only are we bringing people together and getting them face to face, but we are also setting them up for success in their business and showing them all of the strategies they need in the. The systems that they need to actually launch their business or accelerate what they're already doing and scale the business that they have.
Oh, I love bringing the master, the masters, everybody's mastermind to the table.
Yeah.
And it's true. And I love the fact that, you know, because I've been in masterminds for a couple years now and there is nothing like the live experience. Yeah, it's great to have access to each other, you know, when we're not in community, in one space, but there is nothing like when we are all just diving in, definitely helping each other for the greatest good, where there's no competition. It's like, okay, you're master at this. In your mind, you're the master at this. In your mind, you're the master at this. Let's bring it all together. Yes.
What can that collect? Like that collective, those collective minds coming together is what heals this world. It's what changes and impacts this world. Understand? I mean, you can take it back to Jesus. He had a mastermind of 12 disciples. Right. I mean, he started this whole thing and it's like, it's been like that. And people might not identify it that way, but even Jesus knew, I need a tribe, I need these people around me. If I'm going to get the message out because I'm only one man. And even though I've never sinned and I've never done right, I still know that I got to bring other people in because they're all going to relate differently to people. So if I have these 12, 15, 20 people and they go out in the world to spread this message, some people are going to relate to each person differently. And so now it's just more powerful, Right? Even in relationships, if you look at it, so many people say, oh, my other half. I'm like, so what happens when they leave town? Does half of you fall onto the ground like, you can't live without your other half? No, it's two whole, complete people. One plus one equals two. Yes, that is more powerful. Two together moving forward. But you're also complete without each other. You're whole without each other. So it's one of those cool things with all of these masters of their minds. Yes, we're all whole and complete without each other. But how much more powerful are we when we come together? And what can we do when we come together? That is, to me, the most powerful thing of the mastermind.
That's what I love also about the Enneagram. Because knowing what I know about it, like, I know what skill sets, I have no question about it. And I can surround myself with all the other different types that help me bring out the best in me, and I'm able to bring out the best in them. And that's why I'm so passionate about using it in leadership. And I know that I get to share it with you and your.
Yes. I'm so excited.
It's amazing because, yes, it's one thing to have these masters of your mind and understanding your personality on top of it, it's like, boom, right? Yes, it's amazing. So you've lived a lot of life in your 30 something years. And I know that every day you wake up unplugged and you do the things so you can serve the best. But one of the things I like to ask people, and it always kind of like, whoo. It, like, definitely brings you unplugged for a second because, you know, we're not guaranteed tomorrow we get one crack at this life here on Earth. I believe that we have a beautiful eternal life waiting for us, for sure.
But if you were to leave the world tomorrow, what would you want the. The people that knew you to say about you?
She really cared. Like, she actually really cared about every single person. Like, I. The Thing that I love the most about my grandparents is they never met a stranger ever. Like, their home was open door policy to everybody to come in, to be nurtured, to be taken care of. And it's so funny, living out in California. I've had several instances where friends. And here's the funny thing, you could literally, we could hang this thing up and you could call all my friends without me ever talking to them. And most of them will say, oh, I met Lauren the first week I moved to California. Oh, I met her the first couple days or the first. God literally put them in my life because they knew if they met me, they would be taken care of and they would be welcomed with open arms and they would never feel alone. And so I truly believe that God specifically did that. But there's been times where my friends are like, I need somewhere to live. And I'm like, oh, come live with me for free for months and months. Right. That doesn't necessarily work really well when you have roommates that don't have that same open door policy.
That's your two wing coming out to.
Play with Peacemaker helper. Yeah, that's my grandparents. Right. And so I see that. And it's like, people. I believe that people would just say that, like, she really cares and she really wants to help and genuinely wants us to be successful and, like, happy and know that our lives matter, that we have a reason to be here and we have a gift to share with the world. And as long as we're still breathing, we're alive. Which is what my intent brings. Says I'm alive. So that's my reminder. Hey, stop worrying, girl. You have a reason to be here. Otherwise you wouldn't be.
My friend. What an absolute gift you are. And without a doubt, you absolutely do care. It's so evident there's no bullshit about it, which is one of the things I really do appreciate and love about you in this world that we live in, that you never know what you're getting if it's actually the real deal. And my friend, you are the epitome of the real deal. So where can people find you? Because I know they're gonna want to hunt you down and work with you and just ooze what you're oozing. Right?
Yes, I am on the gram. I'm on Instagram, and it's Lauren Schwab. I'm working on getting that underscore changed.
I'm telling you what, I've got an underscore too.
We got to get our trademark and all that stuff, but that's the easiest place to find me. I actually respond to everything on there. I love real human connection on there so I try to even do voice memos or videos and things like that so I can really connect with everybody. So I would love to connect on there. That's where I post about upcoming retreats or the retreat coaching and the masterminds and all that stuff.
She's fun to watch too. She's always dropping value even in her day to day. So thank you so much. What a treat. Treat to know you, to love you, to learn from you. Thank you so much for blessing us all today.
