Hello and Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to another very special episode of the Becoming Bulletproof podcast. And today, you know, gosh, I can't believe 2020 is just about done. I have talked so much Enneagram this year, which I'm obsessed with. Obviously, I'm excited about the new year and bringing even more Enneagram inspired information and integration to you. You're going to hear live coaching on the air. It's going to be amazing because you know, information doesn't equal transformation. You've heard me say that before. And so I love bringing you into what it really looks like to integrate this into your life and using this amazing tool called the Enneagram. It's way more than a cool party favor or fun memes and all of that. It really is.
So much more. I've said before, it's not complicated, but it is very complex. And I think more than ever we need healing. We need more, more work on ourselves. And what I love about the Enneagram and why I've used it so like consistently over the last decade is it breaks it. It helps you break things down so it isn't as hard, right? And I think, you know, we're celebrating Thanksgiving and I know I have so much to be thankful for even in this crazy year. It is like plot twist every other day. It feels like in 2020. And there's so much to be thankful for. I was reflecting back, you know, in kind of going over all the things that have happened this year and had this happened in, in the world in my life a decade ago. This looks really, really different without the tool of the Enneagram and the people that are in my life of the other Enneagram types. So back before I had done a lot of work on myself here. You know, I attracted a certain kind of person in my life. And most of them were a lot like me or the ones that would enable people like me. And although that was really great for my ego, it did zero for my development, zero for my growth, zero for my heart. And it was quite lonely, to be honest with you. So I thought today's episode would be something beautiful. And what I am thankful for each and every Enneagram type, specifically what they bring to my life and how much they help me grow as a human being, how much they teach me about the world and compassion and empathy, which Lord knows we need now more than ever. And when I was putting together the outline for this episode, I actually got pretty choked up about it, thinking about my close inner circle, which isn't very big. It never has been as an enneagram. 8 Let many people get close to us. But I was kind of going through each type and realized that, you know, I have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5 out of the nine types that are my inner circle, and six if you include me. So out of the nine types, six of them I know very, very well, intimately. And these are the people that really make such a huge difference in my everyday life. However, I have the other types in my life as well, Whether it's business or acquaintances.
You know, people that bring so much to my life. So that's the goal. The goal with the Enneagram is honestly to be able to not only embody a little bit of each of the type, and as you grow and you become more personally developed, you are able to tap into the complexity of all the nine types, but you'll also be able to attract all nine types, which will help you work smarter, not harder, which, which will help you become a more well rounded person, which will allow you to really pretty much play in your zone of genius, even with your friendships and romantic partners and your families. It's great because I can be in pretty much my eightness, the healthy eightness all the time, which is very natural to me and easy for me to do.
And when we're talking about business, you know, having a well rounded team, whether it's in network marketing or corporate teams, or your business partners or people that you coach. I know the reason that I have so many of the types in my life in business is because I can speak to all of them. And that's the goal, to be able to speak to anybody. And that is what the Enneagram has really brought to my life the last decade. So I thought I'd go through each type and what I'm thankful for that each type brings to my life. So our ones are reformers, perfectionists, or the improvers as I like to call them. I want to thank you for your integrity in everything that you do. The high standards in which you raise the bar for all of us. You make us up level our game because of the high standards and standards. When you have higher standards, you attract more of that. Like if you're standards are high, you are going to make people in your life up their game. You're going to attract more abundance. I love that you guys drive me a little crazy, but that's a good thing, right? I find that the ones that drive us the most crazy have the most to teach us and ones probably personally drive me the most crazy because you are so rigid sometimes with your high standards, which is a very good thing because for somebody like me that just like barrels through life a lot of the time.
You make me slow down, which is really, really important. What I will say to you, my ones that really go to the dark side sometimes we all go to the dark side. I'm going to tell you to be kind to yourself. I know that with those high standards and the high integrity in which you carry and demand from all of us, I also know how hard you are on yourself. So my wish to you on this beautiful Thanksgiving is that you learn to be kinder, more gentle to yourself and give yourself a lot more grace. The world needs your gifts and waiting till it's perfect is robbing not only you of the praise that you deserve, but all of us of your beautiful, beautiful gifts. The twos, my helpers. You guys are the most compassionate, empathetic, selfless, generous type on the Enneagram. You make us all feel. You really make us see. You show us what service to mankind looks like.
You make me want to be a better person. You know, raising a two has taught me what compassion really, really looks like. Growing up, it wasn't an easy thing for me to lean into. In fact, I was pretty much told and conditioned to believe that compassion and empathy were weaknesses. And in raising a 2 and stepping into the growth of an 8, I embody the 2. And so I want to thank all the helpers out there for showing us what a big heart really, really looks like. I will wish for you, my twos on this Thanksgiving that you are more likely and willing to speak up for what you need. You're so great about understanding and feeling what other people need and I know that it's really painful for you sometimes. To speak up and ask for what you need. Please use your words. We can't read your mind like you read ours. You deserve to have your needs met, too.
My achievers, the Threes Enneagram Threes years. You guys, I am so thankful that you are the best pace cars in the world. You guys make us work hard. You have a work ethic. You are gritty, you are fearless. You just go for it. When the rest of us are like all in our heads, the Threes, the achievers really show what it looks like to go for the goal line.
My wish for you on this Thanksgiving is that you find that place where you can just be you. You are not what you do. You are not what you do. You are not worthy because of the things that you do and the things you achieve. And my wish for you is that you focus. You're able to focus a little bit more on that soul line and not always the goal line. We appreciate your eye on the prize all the time, but we want you to know how special you are. Not because of what you do, but because of who you are. My Enneagram fours, the individualists, the romantics, you make us all feel. I know. This is why I have fours in my life. You make me feel all the things, every emotion, even the ones that I have worked a long, long time to not feel. 4. Showing up in my life make me feel. And there are days that I get pissed off about it, but most of the time, I am so grateful for it because you bring meaning to every single thing life has. You make us all feel. You make us kind of do a gut check and check our hearts all the time. And we're so grateful for you. Really, really, really grateful. Your intuitive nature, your beautiful range of emotions. I think there are so many of us that go around life not wanting to feel because it's hard. And you guys show us what that looks like, and you lead the package in doing that. And I know for me in particular, I am forever grateful. This was a piece that was definitely missing in my toolbox. And like I said, there are days I don't really enjoy it because it's hard. But choose your hard. I would much rather feel all the feelings because that's how we get to acceptance. We can't bypass any of the feelings in order to get to acceptance. And acceptance is where the holy grail is for all great things. And because of the fours out there showing us what that looks like, I am so grateful for you. My wish for you this Thanksgiving is that you really know in your heart of hearts that there is absolutely nothing you are missing. I know that Fours often kind of feel like an outsider to life, that nobody really understands them, and a lot of people aren't patient enough to really take the time to understand you. But I want you to know that I appreciate you. There is nothing wrong with you, and you absolutely have nothing missing. Lean into that beautiful intuition of yours and know that the gifts that you bring to this world are things that now, more than ever, we need. And I am grateful for you.
The Fives, the investigators on the Enneagram. I am so thankful for your ability to see the future and see the bigger picture. You have this beautiful knack of knowing all the things. And I know because I get frustrated in the research and the mundane and, you know, digging through things. I'm a bottom line me kind of girl. And the Fives that are in this world really, really help me. When I don't want to do all that investigating work, I can go to the Five and say, okay, what do you think about this? And they have their bullet points ready to go. And I trust you, and it definitely is something that I know I need in my life. And your willingness and enthusiasm to know everything about topics and things that are of interest to you, I appreciate very, very much. My wish for you this Thanksgiving, though, is that you realize that you don't have to hide your light because it is so bright. You don't have to hide and worry that your energy is going to be depleted. I will make sure, if you're in my life, I will hold that sacred for you. Know that you are capable and equipped, and the world needs your wisdom. We really do. And your ability to not get overly emotional, like, the opposite is the ability to not be overly emotional about things. And that's what you bring to the table. And I hope that you know how special you guys are. I know that you're afraid to kind of maybe get in front of the camera or you use your voice, but it is your voice, your truth, your honesty that you bring to the world that we need more of. So my investigators out there, come on out of the hiding. The Loyalists. Oh, my goodness, you put us all at ease. Really, you really do. You champion us like nobody else. And I am so grateful for the loyalty that you bring to my life, the courage that you show, especially those Loyalists of you and those in my life that are willing to grow even through uncertainty. I mean, out of all the Enneagram types, the Sixes, the Loyalists like, because they have Such an important drive for certainty. 2020 is like, are you freaking kidding me? Like, every single day there was a new plot twist. And watching the Sixes in my life really navigate that with.
Fear, but they're doing it anyway. I am just so grateful for your support, for your love. And my wish for you is that you know that you don't have to be afraid, that you can trust your inner knowing. And you know when you trust your inner knowing, you don't paralyze your gifts. And I am so grateful for your troubleshooting, for your thinking outside the box, for your reminding me of all the what ifs that can happen. And the more that you can trust your inner knowing, the more that you actually will have that certainty that comes more natural to you. So that is my wish for you, the enthusiasts of the world, the Enneagram Sevens. I am so thankful for the joy you bring to any and every situation, the positivity and laughter. You need sevens in your life, everybody, because they make you laugh. My daughter being a seven.
Laughter is probably some of the best medicine in my life, for sure. And, you know, as a girl that didn't grow up very playful or have the container to have the kind of childlike fun, having sevens in my life remind me what childlike innocence looks like, and it warms my heart. Y' all drive me crazy. And I love that you all teach me not to sweat the small stuff, which I'm great grateful for. But you remind me how to play. And for a girl that didn't do much of that, I am so grateful for that. My wish for all the sevens out there is that you realize that you can slow down. That slowing down doesn't mean that it's going to be boring. Slowing down doesn't mean that you're going to have to feel a bunch of crap you don't want to. It's important that you do, and you're capable of it. But I want you to know that when you actually do take the time to slow down, more of that big idea thinking comes in, more of that, oh, my goodness, anything possible comes in. So I'm going to encourage my Sevens to not be so afraid to slow down from time to time, because that's where some miracles can happen for you.
My fellow Enneagram 8 challengers out there. I want you to know, and I will remind myself of this, too. I am grateful for my big heart and your big heart, for the gentle power that. That you bring to situations. We are very powerful, just energetically, you know us. When we walk in the room, and I am grateful for that. Knowing. Knowing I am in the presence of another challenger. Really, I am grateful for that. The resourcefulness and the.
Commitment to seeking what's right is really, really important. I have lived most of my life.
Being a champion of that as well. So I really appreciate when I see other eights step into that, the eights out there that are the rock for so many people, that is something that we are for sure. And the other side of that that I love, not only can we really be the rock, if you ask most people when they. When they're talking about an enneagram 8, they'll usually say they're, like, solid, their money. And the thing is that I love about most aides is they're pretty modest about it, too. You know, they're humble, modest. They know they are. They don't need to shout out to the world that they are. But my wish for my fellow challengers out there, and I have to remind myself of this too, is that it's okay to put the walls down.
This is very strong conditioning for the enneagram 8, and I have to catch myself daily. So my fellow challengers out there, it's okay to put the walls down and let people see that gentle giant in you. Because quite honestly, that's actually where all of our power is. We have that energy that will plow anybody down, but we don't always have to exude so much of it. But that gentle giant heart is actually where it's at. So that is my wish for my challengers out there. And finally, my enneagram 9 peacemakers.
I am so thankful when I am just in your presence because it always feels like a big, warm, huge hug. And, you know, next to quality time, I would say physical touch from my inner circle. So all you strangers out there don't come up and hug me. As an eight, it's got to be on my terms. But my Enneagram Nines, just being around you feels like a big hug. And you provide calm even in the craziest of storms. Your easygoing nature, your.
Willingness to see all sides of things really are something that I think is your gift, my wish for you. I know that this is really hard for a lot of the peacemakers out there, is believing that your opinion and your voice matter, because it really does. I want you to use your voice. I want you to say, this is what I feel because of the level of integrity and the calmness and the objectivity you bring to situations when we hear you use Your voice, we listen. I'm going to really wish for you that you use it, know that you matter, the things that you say, that you think it all matters. And we could use a lot of your wisdom, your Yoda wisdom. You've heard me call you that before.
I know that in light of 2020 being crazy and, you know, we're rounding out, even on top of COVID on top of.
Race wars, on top of.
A political year, I mean, it's seriously crazy, seriously crazy that the tool of the Enneagram has really allowed me to not only feel all my feelings, but navigate them and not explode on people. It has allowed me to keep my emotions in check while feeling all of them, which is really, really important. Like I said, you have to be able to feel all the emotions you do. And I tried to avoid especially the sadder ones most of my life. And I'm going to recommend on this beautiful Thanksgiving, one of my favorite movies. It's called Inside Out. It's a kid's movie, but I watched it alone and it was so amazing and I cried. It was so beautiful. And it's about how important all the feelings are and. And the gift of the Enneagram, when used beautifully and in integrity, when you integrate it in all aspects of your life, whether it's in business or your home life, or your friendships, or love or health, when we use it, we are able to feel and utilize all the beautiful emotions that are given to us. They are a gift. And I know this Thanksgiving, I am more thankful than ever for you, for the ability to speak to you guys every week, for all the love and gratitude that you throw my way because of what I am so blessed to do every day. I am grateful for the gift of the Enneagram because it was the very tool that helped me turn my household around and really let my two beautiful kids.
Know and feel with all my being what was in my heart. And I was ability to land it on theirs in a way that they could receive it because of the tool of the Enneagram. It is because of my kids that I dove so deep into it that I knew that I could help many of you with it in leading your homes, leading in your businesses, the people that you empower every day.
The gift that I am raising a two and a seven. And no matter what I say, even in my very intense 8 energy that even at my most intense, what is in my heart is able to land on theirs because of the Enneagram. I know that for those of you that I have had the privilege and honor of coaching and those of you in the future that I will through your businesses and organizations. I know that using the Enneagram will allow you also to move the needle faster, stronger, more beautifully and elegantly in your life. I am thankful for you. Thank you for showing up week after week and pouring so much love into me. So much so that I wake up fired up every day to bring more, more more more value to your life and really help you use this amazing tool to give you and allow you to live the life of your dreams.
