Okay, I know you may have heard about the Enneagram or someone told you.
You need to know all about it.
So here you are.
But what the hell do you do with it? Great news.
You are in the right place. Lead with the Enneagram is the show where you will actually learn how to use this incredible growth tool and apply it in all areas of your life, personally and professional. Hi, I'm Tracy. And to be honest with you, I was a skeptic of the Enneagram before I started to actually integrate it into my life. In fact, in true enneagram 8 style, I told my therapist to F off when she wanted me to dive into.
It well over a decade ago.
Now that I have more than a decade of experience using the Enneagram and working on myself in my family with those closest to me, building my own bulletproof leadership, sales teams with one on one clients, couples, leading workshops for top Fortune 100 executives, and speaking to large audiences all across the globe about this powerful tool. I've got the proof and deep understanding of how to help you implement this into your life instead of it just being some fun thing you heard about. The Enneagram can be a complex model. But with me as your guide, I will show you how to first lead yourself in a powerful, effective and compassionate way and then help you lead others that way in your life as well. This podcast will have powerful conversations with guests, live typing sessions, and as well as solo episodes of Breaking down dynamics of the Enneagram and how they impact your life, career and relationships. So now let's dive in.
Hey, hey. Welcome back to an episode of Lead with the Enneagram. And hey, I know we have a lot of newer listeners that have come our way, so welcome to a whole new different way of learning about the Enneagram. And you know, we are in the final week of January.
And you know, for me, I know that in the past, like I come into January like gangbusters and this year I intentionally have done it a little bit differently. Even though like my word of the year is emerge and visibility and vulnerability are the key initiatives for this year, personally and professionally, I've taken it very slow in this emergence process into the new year. And we are 112 of the way through the year. And I wanted to talk to you all today about this, this understanding of self awareness. And I mean it's the whole beauty of the Enneagram and the beauty of the tool when used properly. And this is what I've found. I've had a very productive January, so Far working with many, many people. And this last week alone I've spoken to three or four different mastermind groups, high level entrepreneurs and so on. And there has been a common theme about really wanting to be so understanding of ourselves. So much so that with the tool of the Enneagram, sometimes we can use it to try and force things rather than to find flow. And I had a great conversation with somebody this week. And what's cool about my kind of place in this Enneagram space and my uniqueness in this space, I. I'm very aware that if you are somebody who is not new to the Enneagram and even certified or have been through programs, I get a lot of you. Because when you come across me, you recognize, oh wow, like I am hearing this very differently than I've ever learned before. And that, my dear, is a good thing. Not saying that all the amazing teachers out there of the information of the Enneagram aren't doing a great job. They do a great job of information training way better than I do. I know this. But if you don't know what to do with it or how to use it with compassion, kindness, generosity, elegance, all the things for your life and for those that you love and lead, what's the fucking point, right? And I recognize, like I said, that a lot of you coming to me.
Have a lot of knowledge about the Enneagram. So much so that you flood my inbox with deeper questions. And I love that. And I try to tell you guys, like, I have been at this every day for 12 years, right? I didn't just learn the information. Check a box and cool. I just can have this stuff roll off my tongue. And sometimes I forget that it does roll off my tongue so easily that it should. Like sometimes I believe, like, oh, this must be common knowledge. Why would anybody want to hear from me? Like I have my own stinking thinking, you all.
But as I speak to more groups and high level people, I recognize that this thing about self awareness and using the tool of the Enneagram.
Needs to be talked about more. And especially in the typing process. Yesterday I spoke with a mastermind group.
Like I said, high level entrepreneurs, very successful, very intelligent, very smart. And many have heard about the Enneagram and many have been through typing processes. And in fact I've got calls this week with people who believed they were another type. And why is this so important? Right? If you are looking at the Enneagram as some cutesy little tool, then you probably don't care so much. But like I've said before and why I'm so passionate about it and why I've made it my life's work and what I will finish out my life doing is because of the profound difference it has allowed me to make in my life, personally and professionally. The way it helps me enhance and honor myself, the relationship with myself, my relationships with other people, the ability to facilitate insane, rapid rates of transformation in people's money and people's abundance and their love and their relationships and their health and their soul. The Enneagram is a powerful tool. And I know if you're listening, you're intrigued by that, but you want to know how. You want to know how. And we have to be gentle with this process because most of us, myself included, when I was first learning about the Enneagram, once I stopped kicking and screaming because I didn't want anything to do with it, once I surrendered, I wanted to know what was in this for me. And there's nothing wrong with that. Right? Like, if you're going to invest your time, energy, resources and money into diving deeper on this, you do want to know what's in it for you. And you have a responsibility for the energy in which you bring to this work. Right. So I was talking to somebody yesterday, like I said, who uses Enneagram in their business. And I'm getting this a lot. And I know this is like God in the universe's way of telling me, like, trace, they've been asking you for years to be doing this. You need to do it. And, you know, part of the thing that is on my things to do for 2024 is to build a certification mentoring program for those of you that want to use the Enneagram in your businesses and in your. Your lives at a deeper, deeper level. Right. So just know that that's coming. But, you know, yesterday I was speaking to a girl who has done typing sessions and. And things like that, and one of her students had gone through my process and got a very different result experience profound soul hit. And this beautiful, beautiful person that I was talking to felt like, God, am I. Am I not doing my doing right by my people with the Enneagram? And you know, I know that it is a complicated process. It isn't.
It isn't complicated, but it is complex, I should say. And when we. You. This is where the fine line is with a tool like the Enneagram and all the nonsense of all these free quizzes and online tests and. And I get a lot of these people are trying to get you into a funnel and an email sequence marketing and all of that. And I don't do any of that shit, which I need to, because many of you have never heard of me before, that have been introduced to me via a friend or somebody told you you needed to listen like bravo to them for great digital marketing strategies. However, they aren't necessarily doing you, doing right by you by giving you these free quizzes. Now, they're a great start. They're a great start. But there is this thing where if you. If they're not communicating that this is just a start, or if they're not communicating that, do not take the results as solid gold. Or if you. This is how I would have been. If you are somebody who is in a situation in your life that you need change and you fucking need it now, you might want to hit the easy button, say, boom. I am an Enneagram blank. And this is why I am the way I am and this is what I need to do and this is how I need to be successful. And, and I get it.
But this is, this is about being human and this is about matters of your soul and your heart. And so one of two things need to happen. You need to go really, really slow with this or you need to have somebody like me help you. And I'm not saying this from a place of ego or a place of you can't do this without me. I mean, you certainly, certainly can.
Michael Jordan is one of my all time favorite athletes and the greatest of all time in my opinion, in the NBA. And even he needed a guide to help them see things that he could not. I somebody who teaches this and lives this work and is probably the most self aware person I know. I also have guides in my life to help me see the way where I am blind. Okay? So when it comes to the tool of the Enneagram and facilitating change in your life, using it, I am your person. I do know this. And I will say this. And you may not be ready for that. And that's totally okay. That's totally okay. But if not, go slow with this. Go slow with this. Having the right information is key for the magic to be unlocked with the tool of the Enneagram.
I have a call today with somebody that.
Like, like I said, she's been through years, years of information and interviews and even showed up in one of my group coaching workshops that I've done and thinks she's one type. And it's so funny because like, here's the deal, I have definitely some spiritual gifts that I can Pick up on a lot of things. I see some things that's pretty woo. I recognize. But like, I'm tired of, like being quiet about this and this gift that I do have because I can see things very clearly. And I've known this since I was little. Just never really talked about it. And it's funny because, you know, she's been part of some of my stuff and hasn't wanted to do my assessment. And I get it. I just, I get it. And she finally booked a call with me and we're having it today. And I think she thinks she's one type. And. And I know energetically, I know in just the things that she says, the motives that I've heard her say the things. And then she did my assessment and it was exactly what I thought it would be. And I'm about to blow her mind today. But also.
Also, if she's open to set herself free.
This is what the tool of the Enneagram in an open heart and an open, willing mind and soul can do with the beauty of this.
Also this week with one of the mastermind groups I was talking to. Like I said, some of them have taken Enneagram assessments before and really thought they were one number. And one of their coaches said, like, oh my gosh, like, I really thought she was this one type. Am I missing something? And it. If you're somebody that uses the Enneagram in your work, you need to understand that. Especially depending on if you're the one administering the assessment or asking them to take the assessment and you're the one guiding them, whether it's a therapist, a coach, a teacher, a parent.
I had this experience too. You know, in the beginning, my therapist wanted me to do this and I didn't want to do it, but I did it because she wanted me to. And I was at a point in my life where I was desperate for change. And that being said, I still answered some of the questions in a way that maybe didn't reveal what I wanted her to see or what I didn't want her to see. Right. And that's why I was mistyped originally. I wanted to be performative. I wanted her to know that, yeah, I'm here for help, but I'm not as bad as, like some of these other people that you see. Right. And you have to ask yourself, when you're going into a process like this, whether you're a facilitator or you are the one taking an assessment, be open to all of it. Don't focus on who's asking you to take it. It's why when they do take the assessment with me, it's usually their choice. Usually. Or they have entered an environment or a container where they are ready to be cracked open. And sometime, you know, this, this role of authority or power in the dynamic can skew a lot of these online assessments as well. So back to this. You know, if you think you are maybe not seeing the beauty and the magic of the Enneagram, you have to ask yourself a few questions like, are you really open to what is revealed? The truth? There are days I really do not like being an 8. It's really hard sometimes. And there are days I fucking love it. Right? Lately I haven't loved it so much because I see how stubborn and how protective of that vulnerability I naturally am as an 8. The good news is I always have a choice and I have tools within my framework as an 8 to be able to get out of my own way without losing the authentic truth of who I am. Right. I want that for you, especially as we move into this 20, 24 and a year. This is going to be a crazy ass wild ride of a year with elections and.
You know, the financial climate, the social climate, all sorts of things coming your way. And if you're like me and you have a lot less life left than you have to live, like, you don't want to waste one moment of it.
I don't. I'm ready to emerge fully. And I do, I would say 90% of the time, I'm fully authentic and true to who I am. And the other 10%, it's fear, it's uncertainty, it's frustration. It's human. Right? You're human. And when you can use this tool to get yourself back in your lane with compassion, with empathy, with kindness, with elegance, with generosity for yourself first, you'll be so blown away by how easy this is to do with the other people that you love and the people that you lead in your life. But you have to be able to do this for yourself first. And so I wanted to talk about like, you know, the typing process. And if you are somebody that coaches people and want to start using or you want to use the Enneagram more effectively in your coaching, be on the lookout and be on the lookout for it. And if you are somebody that wants that, even if you're somebody who's been Enneagram certified, like certifications don't really mean shit, honestly. It means you checked a few boxes and you learned it, you memorized it, and you've moved on, but have you really embodied what this work is? I'm going to be that person to show you that way. If you want more information on that or if this is something that excites you, please let me know. So I know I'm not just.
Operating what I believe people want, but what you have told me you wanted. I've been asked for a long time to do this and I haven't just because I haven't really wanted to. I was like, I don't want to. I don't want to do that because I don't want to put my name on people, especially if I don't feel like they're going to use it in integrity. But if you are somebody that wants to use this tool in a beautiful way, beautiful integrity filled way to facilitate genuine transformation for people, just let me know. You can shoot me an email or a DM and let me know. I'm excited about it finally, because I recognize that I am here to make impact, but not necessarily on the masses, but on the people that will bring it to the masses. So I'm excited about that. And if you are kind of dabbling or have been in the Enneagram space for a while and something's not landing and you haven't taken my assessment and gotten my blueprint, please freaking do. If you know that you want more than just that and you want to dive a little deeper, a 90 minute power session with me is like 10 years of therapy. Not my words, just many, many, many testimonies that I have gotten. And I don't claim to be a therapist or anything like that. I never wanted to be one. There's quite frankly too many rules to being a therapist that I know that absolutely break and probably get into a lot of trouble. But most importantly, why I never became a therapist, even though all nine of my therapists said I would be a great therapist. I already know this.
But I really want to sit across from people and be able to share that not only do I get it, but share why I get it and parts of my story that if I was a therapist, I couldn't share with you. And so if you need somebody sitting across from you to not only help you make sense of your enneagram, your framework connected to it, how to leverage it, but to sit across from somebody that really freaking gets it. I have a PhD in life experience, I absolutely do. And I can help you break through the things that are holding you back. And with the tool of the Enneagram, you will have a Language and a framework and a system on how to do it. Even when life starts. Life and you upside the head. Okay, so go to traceeomally.com the work with me section.
You can go and find me on Instagram at traceyomalley. You can shoot me a dm. And even you know, as you have done the blueprint, you have to build the muscles around this. It's one thing to understand and see the information, but then you have to start implementing and practicing. And practice can get messy. And that's the thing. A lot of us don't like to be messy required. It's funny, I was just thinking about being messy. And although I don't like to appear weak or.
Without power, messy is not something that I mind. In fact, my nickname in high school was Pig Pen. I used to play baseball and was always the dirtiest on the team. I probably played the dirtiest too, in true enneagram8 fashion. But. But it's in the messiness that we build the muscles and it's in the messiness that we find the fucking miracles.
So many of you are trying to keep this perfect face going and you're not helping anybody if you know you're here to make an impact, not just in your own life, but in the people that you love, the people that you lead, the people that you're raising, whatever that looks like for you. Messiness is required to make impact. And the more that you surrender to that process and are compassionate with yourself in that process, everything that you deserve, everything that you desire comes a lot faster. So let's get messy together, okay? You'll have no judgment. In fact, we'll have a good freaking time getting messy together.
Like I said, get the blueprint, do a session with me. Or if you know you want to dive, dive. Dive real deep. I have two spots left for my private one on one coaching three month container. It's life changing. Go now. I love you all. I am sending you so much love and wishing you so much transformation in your life. If you are newer to the show, thank you for coming. Thank the person that you sent that sent you here, or if you found me by accident, know that nothing is by accident. When the student is ready, the teacher and the tools appear. And it is my honor to bring you some of the greatest teachings I've ever had with the tool of the Enneagram. And until next time, we'll see you soon.
