Day 1 of My Daily Self-Love & Confidence Journey! (Join Me)

In this introductory vlog, Vivek launches a daily self‑love and confidence series on YouTube. He shares his personal backstory—years of meditation, a recent breakup that exposed a deep lack of self‑love, and ongoing anxiety—explaining why he feels compelled to recommit to self‑love practice. He outlines the series format: each day a new self‑love exercise (30‑50 possible practices) with community participation through comments, likes, and shares. The first exercise is a guided journaling activity where viewers (and Vivek) list three personal qualities they appreciate about themselves. He conducts a brief mood check‑in before and after the exercise, noting his own shift from anxiety to calm. Vivek then reveals his three chosen traits—kindness, resilience, and environmental thoughtfulness—explaining each. He encourages viewers to comment with their own traits, to support each other, and to return daily, likening the practice to consistent physical exercise that yields gradual improvement. The video ends with a call to subscribe, share, and stay engaged for the journey ahead.

Hey guys, my name is Vivek. I'm excited to do this daily love practice, daily self-love practice, as a journey, as a, as a practice to try to work on loving yourself and appreciating ourselves and developing greater self-esteem and confidence. And if you don't know me, I've been doing this type of work for a little bit of time now. I've been really deep into meditation for, for many years and other holistic practices, but self-love was a little bit newer to me. I've been working on it very consciously for the last year or so, and that happened because I was really struggling after a relationship a little over a year ago that threw me for a tailspin. I realized after sort of the relationship was sort of crumbling that why I was struggling and I was having these panic attacks at that moment is that I was trying to use this person, this individual, to fill this deep hole within myself and this lack of self-love for myself. And so I've went on this, you know, almost a little more than a year now, I guess, of working on practicing self-love on a regular basis. And then recently I realized again, I got into a little bit of a situation that didn't go the way I'd hoped, that I realized I was still lacking self-love in a, in a serious way, and that I maybe have taken my focus off that practice a little bit. So I thought, let's go back to it. I want to figure out a new fresh way to practice self-love for myself. And I thought, what better way than trying to do it through YouTube? And to try to bring people like yourself who are watching this video along with me in this journey. Because I'm sure many of you are— those of you watching this video are probably dealing with something similar, that you don't have a strong self-esteem or confidence or self-belief in yourself that you probably would like. And you're realizing that perhaps it's hurting you more than you would want to. And, uh, and maybe by coming together on this channel and sharing and practicing together every single day, we can grow in our self-love and grow in our self-belief. My idea for this series is to every day bring a new self-love practice. We'll probably cycle back to some old ones as time goes on because I don't know if there's an infinite number of self-love practices, but I did find at least, and know of, somewhere between 30 to 50. So I think we're going to have a lot of practices to do, um, and I think it's gonna be a lot of fun. And I think the more that all of you get involved by leaving comments, sharing this video with friends and family that you think could use it, the more you put in, I think the more you're going to get out of it. So I'm excited to share what I'm going through, and I'm going to reply back to as many comments as I can. And, you know, I hope that you participate and, you know, leave feedback for me, suggestions for me, leave what you're going through, what you're thinking, and also provide input to other people that you see in the comments that might be— might appreciate your perspective. So that's a little bit of the background, and this is the kicking off day. I'll probably have to mention some of this in the coming days and weeks, but I'll try to keep it limited and refer people to this first video. So today we're gonna do the practice. What we're gonna do is we're gonna reflect on 3 things about ourselves that we appreciate, that we like. And I'm gonna— and we're gonna— I'm gonna journal it here in my notebook, and then I'm gonna share it with you. And as I do it, it'll give you an opportunity to journal. So if you have a piece of paper or computer you want to write this in go ahead and do it. If you don't have that ability at this very moment, maybe just think to yourself and reflect to yourself these 3 things that you want to— that you appreciate about yourself, things that you really like or you think other people like about you. And before we get started with that, I think it's also important we're going to do— it's a little check-in with ourselves, um, you know, before and after we do these practices, just to see how we're feeling and where we are. So maybe just take a moment to to reflect on yourself. I'll pause for a few seconds. Okay. Hopefully that gave you enough time, but I'm going to just say I'm feeling okay. I would say maybe an hour before this video was recorded, I was feeling very anxious. Part of the situation that spurred on this video, something about it had come back up. And it was making me very anxious. But I did a little meditation before recording this video, and I kind of tried to shift my perspective a little bit, and now I'm feeling a little bit more calm. So, but overall, yeah, there is a little bit of anxiety in me, and, but I'm excited also. I'm happy to be doing this. I'm really excited to see how this grows. I, I really hope that, um, this is helpful for others, and I hope others encourage me, you know, as I can encourage you. Okay, so let's take this moment. Once again, the self-love practice for today is just to reflect on 3 qualities about yourself that you're proud of. And then I'm going to share mine after I do mine. And this one I got from some Buddhist monks, maybe a year and a half ago or something and asked them their opinion on this, uh, and they gave me this as a suggestion. And it works because I think we're so hard on ourselves, some of us, probably the people, especially the people that watch these videos. I'm sure there are people that some, they really automatically love themselves. There's always a spectrum. We're a spectrum of when it comes to being humans, right? It's not black and white, it's an entire rainbow. But individuals that are drawn to these type of videos, like myself, we can be pretty tough on ourselves. And I think taking a little bit of time to reflect and remember some of the good qualities about ourselves gives us some perspective that we're not as bad or evil or mean or unworthy as we might make ourselves to believe. And if this, if this practice resonates, you can do it daily. Tomorrow I'm going to come up with something new, but you could do it daily. So I'm going to take a moment, you as well, to write down some of the things you appreciate about yourself. And I'm going to share mine afterwards, but I would encourage you to do the same in the comments. Okay, I'm almost done. Okay, that's it. Okay, so the 3 that I wrote down, my handwriting is pretty terrible. But I'll share. The first one is I think of myself as pretty kind and helpful to others, whether it's my friends or family, whether it's strangers sometimes on the street that I come across. And this is sort of part of why I got excited about this video, is I thought this would be a great way to do something that I'm excited about and share it with others in a way that's hopefully helpful. So kind and helpful is my first one. Number 2, I think of myself as pretty hardworking and resilient. So sometimes I, uh, I, yeah, I show up every day trying to do my best and give it my best. And even today when I wasn't feeling so excited about doing this first video, I said, no, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna push through it, and I'm gonna make it happen. And I'm recording. So I guess that's not the sign of resilience. And number 3 is I'm pretty thoughtful. I'm not perfect, but I'm pretty thoughtful about taking care of the environment. I try to be careful about my environmental footprint I try to do things, small things that I can to have a smaller impact on the environment, and I think that's good. So those are my 3 traits or things about me that I like and I appreciate about myself and I can be proud of. For you, please leave a comment and sharing what you're, what you're doing, what you're feeling good about, what you're proud of. Like, I'd be really excited to hear. And now that we're done with the practice, how am I feeling? To be honest, I'm feeling good. I think I'm feeling good for not just because of this, but also just because I'm doing this, this practice. And I think that's once again is why I would encourage you to participate. Leave a comment, you know, leave comments for others, encouraging them, being supportive to them. I think the more you put into something, the more you get out of it. So yeah, I'm feeling great. And yeah, thanks for joining me on this journey. I'm excited to see where it goes. I think I'm just excited also just about doing this practice on a regular basis with all of you. And I think you showing up with me will, will be an interesting opportunity to see how we grow, how we adapt, how these practices help us grow. You know, self-love from my experience is not, you know, flip a switch and tomorrow you feel great. It's kind of like working out. You know, you go to the gym one time, you're not going to see the results overnight. But if you keep showing up day after day, you're going to see these changes in yourself slowly but surely. So please keep coming on, keep coming to, to, to the videos, to the channel, subscribe, like, share this with others that might appreciate this video. And thank you so much for joining in on day 1. Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow.
