Falling in Love...With Yourself ❤️ The Daily Self-Love Practice. Episode - 009

Vivek George guides a three-minute breathing practice for self-love. He compares falling in love with yourself to romantic love: it takes time and repeated small actions, not a one-off miracle. Like gym workouts, self-love grows through consistent daily effort.

Hey guys, welcome back to another day of this self-love journey, this daily practice. My name is Vivek George if you don't know me, and for a little over a week now I've been doing these public self-love practices, which has been amazing. I've been practicing self-love for a while, but doing them in this format is really nice, and it's really nice, uh, for a lot of reasons. Usually when I start these videos, I share a quote or an idea, and today's idea or concept I want to share is this idea around falling in love with another person. And usually that process of falling in love is like a slow process. You know, maybe you have some sparks early on, but you know, that really, that deep falling in love takes time. It takes time between, you know, morning breakfast, between going out for walks, going on adventures, on vacations, uh, making love. What all these things in between, all the small things in between, is when that slowly this connection, this, you know, appreciation for this other person, the way they treat you, the way they talk to you, the way they show up for you, the things that they do for you. And you realize over time, wow, this person's a magical person. I'm really in love with them. And I think the reality is that falling in love with ourselves is very similar. You know, it takes time. You know, we do things, we take action, but do we take the time to fall in love with ourselves and really recognize all the great things about us? I don't think we do. You have to keep showing up in different ways like we're doing here. In this self-love practice, this daily self-love practice, to see so many components of who we are, how amazing we are. And over time, by showing up for these— this little bit of time, 8 minutes, 10 minutes, 12 minutes, whatever amount it is that we come together and making time for ourselves and doing these small practices— over time we fall in love. And they're not— these practices aren't things that like, wow, they're gonna— you know, you're doing it, you're gonna for sure tomorrow you're gonna transform. No, it's about showing up every day. It's like going to the gym, right? You're not gonna get super fit if you show up one day, even if you do this amazing workout. You have to keep showing up day after day. So thank you for joining me because you're part of this. You're helping me fall in love with myself by participating, by liking and leaving comments, and it helps me, it helps me. And I hopefully these videos help you. And by practicing together, we learn to fall in love with ourselves day in and day out. And I think in a couple weeks, couple months, years and so forth, our lives will transform because if we don't love ourselves, it really impacts so many parts of our lives. Impacts our external relationships with whether it's with partners or friends and family, impacts our relationships with colleagues or clients. It impacts our confidence in whatever we do. And if we don't love ourselves, that's how we see the world. We see the world through this lens of not really loving ourselves and doubting ourselves. So by working on our confidence and self-worth, by doing these practices, everything around us really transforms. Awesome.
Cool.
Well, now that we have this, this idea inside of us, We can ponder it through this practice, but more importantly, throughout our day. Let's get started. So before we do that, we usually start with a check-in, how we're feeling now, and then check out after we do the practice. And so I'm feeling pretty good. I'm feeling, uh, I'm feeling happy. I had this realization earlier in the day and it felt so right. It felt really right because as I'm doing this practice, With all of you, I'm starting to slowly fall in love with myself, and that's a nice feeling. Cool, awesome. So today's practice is a really gentle one. It's really— we're just gonna do 3 minutes of taking some breaths together, slow deep breaths. It's just about making time for ourselves, slowing things down, finding some peace and calm within us. I would have— I was thinking 2 minutes, but I said, you know what, it's Saturday, I love myself, so I'm gonna add one more minute. So I'm gonna do 3 minutes of just gentle breathing in in and out together. Cool, guys. Okay, we'll get started and enjoy. I'll guide us through it a little bit in the beginning, then I'll sort of let you guys take it from there. So when you're ready, close your eyes gently. Take a deep breath in. And out through your mouth.
In and out. In and out. Keep your attention on your breath. Almost halfway there. Great job, guys.
Let's keep it up.
In and out. Don't forget to smile as you do this. 20 seconds. Almost there.
Nice job, guys. Awesome. You're ready. Slowly, gently open up your eyes. Maybe incorporate some movement in your hand and your upper body or whatever feels good for you. Okay, awesome. Nice job. Okay, so quick checkout. Give you guys a moment to think about it. Okay, so for me, yeah, I'm feeling, I'm feeling, yeah, relaxed, more peaceful, feeling really nice, really good. Nice way to start my Saturday. Hopefully you guys enjoyed as well. If you did, please consider liking the video or subscribing to the channel. It really helps me out, spread the word. And if you know somebody in your own life that could use a little bit of self-worth, self-belief, greater confidence, perhaps consider sharing the video with them. But no matter what, enjoy your day, enjoy your Saturday, enjoy, uh, whoever you're with, especially yourself. Make sure not to forget to love yourself. Have a great weekend. Take care.
Peace.
