GUI SANTOS TIROU ONDA COMO REPÓRTER NO NBA ALL-STAR (VLOG)

In this 12‑minute vlog, Warriors forward Gui Santos steps out of his usual player role to act as a reporter for NBA Brazil during the NBA All‑Star Weekend in San Francisco. He documents his hectic travel schedule, the shock of moving from the locker‑room side to the media side, and his attempts to ask questions of a rotating cast of NBA personalities—including Trayce Jackson‑Davis, Josh Green, Moses Moody, Pat Spencer, Brandin Podziemski, Franz Wagner, and Stephen Curry. The vlog blends candid backstage moments (locker‑room tours, snack traditions, equipment details) with light‑hearted banter (bets on half‑court shots, hair‑talk, and betting challenges). Gui also highlights the Brazilian fan community, asks players about their connection to Brazil, and receives advice from Curry for aspiring international players. Throughout, he reflects on the difficulty of reporting, the learning curve, and his excitement about the All‑Star events, ending with a promise to continue covering the weekend as both reporter and fan.

Mano, olha, ele parou no ar, velho!
Não pode ficar na madeira. Vai, ele! Ei, aqui é o lado que a gente que é atleta, a gente não vê muito não.
Vai, moleque, mata a bola, pô!
Save the ball!
Fala, pessoal da NBA Brasil, aqui é o Gui Santos.
Gui Santos.
"Ok."
Gui Santos is there.
What can you say about him?
Gui is my guy. Whenever he comes out, he plays as hard as he can. He does his thing out there, and I love being his teammate.
I like that.
And actually, I have a question for you. I know that's a back-to-back-to-back for you, and how you feeling? Your body is ready? We're gonna see a lot of Trace's dunks.
We're gonna see some Trace dunks, but Got in at 2:00, 3:00 AM, so hopefully get a nap after this, but I'm doing, I'm doing okay.
All right, all right, love that.
Since he's trying out his hand, behind the camera, what advice would you give for him to ask better questions?
I think his questions are solid, so, um, he's going to learn, he's going to get better at it, but he's doing good.
Start early. Yeah, that's my, my first experience as a reporter. I've never been here before. I'm always sitting there like like you. So I hope I get better and you guys can help me with a couple tips to, you know, improve.
Yes, sir.
Qual será que é? Ah não, esse é o Amém, parece. É o que eu joguei ontem. Joguei ontem com ele. Marcamos, marcamos. Fechou rebote. Pula, atlético pra caramba. É do Detroit? Ah! Hahaha! Marcus! How you doing, man? I'm great, I'm great. I'm a reporter now. Yeah, look at it.
You're good. Ask me a question.
How you feel being the best equipment manager guy in the league right now? Second best.
E. Howze.
Oh, E. Howze. You both very good.
How you feel being the best Brazilian in the league right now?
I'm the only one.
Meu Deus, o Gary Payton e o Kuminga. Todas as besteiras que acontecem, a gente tá junto. Lá ele, não pode ficar na madeira. Lá ele. Vamos indo lá? Ah, o Pat Spencer chegou aí. What's up, bro?
What do you got, Gui?
So you know that we'll be betting from half-court shots, right? No comment. So I just want to ask you, how is your money? If you're down, if you're up? And how much you lost for me, please? No comment. No comment at all.
I'll bounce back.
You'll bounce back? No, I don't think so. Like, I've been up $500, I think. If you don't know, Gui Santos is a hustler. He misses about 8 shots in a row on purpose. And then right when I decide to bet, he somehow makes it every friggin' time. Always in the first try.
Every time.
Gui Santos. Oh, you didn't finish. You see that? No, you're good. So let's go. I know you have Brazilian and you have from Germany. So how good your Portuguese? We can speak Portuguese here or we speak English?
Probably English. It's just like in interviews and stuff. I never learned how to speak Portuguese in interviews, I feel like.
Alright, so we know that a lot of Brazilian fans cheer for you because everybody knows that you're from Brazil. So do you have any message or anything to say for the guys in Brazil that are cheering for you right now?
There's a lot of love even in Orlando. There's a big Brazilian community in Orlando, so we have Brazil night and everything. It's always great to hear my name yelled when I'm coming in or when I'm walking through the tunnel. So, giving a lot of love.
And about the national team stuff, I know you could play for both teams, either Brazil or Germany. That would be a pleasure if you have in your mind to play in Brazil. But I know some stuff happened with your brother early, right? So do you ever have in your mind to go maybe play for Brazil or—
I haven't really thought about it that much. It'd be really cool to play with my brother though. Yeah. So I'm kind of leaning one way a little bit.
We can put both of you guys with us.
Yeah.
I mean, if it works.
What's up, bro?
You guys working?
Yeah, on your break? Yeah.
Hey, Pops, I'm doing it for you.
Appreciate you, man. Yeah. BP, we both play together, you know, so which one you think has the best curly hair in the team?
Oh, me for sure. Yeah, if we really like go hardcore and try to you know, do our hair the best. I think I got it.
Brandon, he was struggling to ask you some questions to get in. What advice would you give him so that he could get a question in when he's in a scrum like this?
I feel like you just got to talk over people. You just got to, you just got to keep talking until they, everyone stop.
It's different when you're on the court. It's way easier to talk. But when you're here, bro, you got to think too much stuff at the same time. It's not easy.
Yeah, 100%.
I know you did that last year, right? In the finals. How was that experience for you? I think it was good.
But it just showed me that I wouldn't want to do it when I'm done. It was a good experience though, just to see like what all goes into a Finals game, the behind the scenes, and it's not just the game played. But yeah, I wouldn't want to do it.
And like you said, you winning against Steph from the half-court shot, we always do it before the game. I shoot against Gary and you shoot against Steph, and I'm winning against Gary. So I think the next step We should shoot against each other?
Yeah.
So that's good.
Oh yeah, let's do it.
Steph. Yes, sir, bro. How do you like it? Ó, a arena aqui é legal, hein, velho! Cara, maneiro aqui, hein? Maneiro!
What's up?
What's up? What's up?
You good?
I'm good.
You good, bro?
Good.
I'm about to interview you there, bro. All right, give me some love. All right, Josh, how you doing, fella? Ah, yeah, yeah, reporter, reporter today.
Gui Santos, the awful teammate, um, doesn't play hard. No, I'm just playing. he's one, he's one of the best teammates I think I've watched. Gui now for 3 or 4 years. Just come in and start his journey. It's funny, Loon and I were talking the other day that he didn't move great when he got here, but you watch him put the work in in the weight room every single day, watch him change his movement patterns to give himself a shot in this league, and he's taking full advantage of his opportunity. He's helped us win games this year, created a spot for himself in the rotation. And I think, you know, anytime you can do that in this league, going through the journey that Gui Santos had to go through, it says a lot about your character, a lot about your work ethic.
Question in the corner right here, right here.
Yeah, I got you. So you were talking about me. I really appreciate that. And I know that I'm not the only Brazilian player that you play with. You've already played with LB, you play with Anderson. So for you, being honest, which one is your favorite Brazilian?
My favorite? I love all y'all, man. you, Andy, Andy, LB. Y'all all have been great to me. I've never had any issues with any Brazilians. You know, Neymar being a good friend, Pedro. Yeah, that's a tough one. I love all of y'all, my brother.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Alright.
Good question, good question. Let's go, Moe! So that's my first time being a reporter. So I just want to ask you, you representing the Warriors here. We've been playing together. And we know how the fans help us on the court. And I think that's going to be your first time playing here in the Oracle Arena, right? Because we never played here before. So what do you expect from the crowd? What do you expect from the skill challenge? Because I know you're the guy that works a lot on your skills. I always see you early in the practice working on skills, dribbling, footwork, everything. So I think that you can put that, that kind of stuff that you work on tonight to the crowd.
Okay, okay, good question. Well, first off, I want to say how cool it is that you're here doing this outside of your comfort zone, trying something different and doing good at it. So first off, I want to acknowledge that. But, you know, skills is skills, and that's what the job is. That's what we work on every day. That's what we try to perfect. So just coming out here and being able to showcase what skills you have with the ability is just part of the job. So that'll be cool. It'll be fun. And you didn't know me personally, I've been watching it for years, watching the dunk contest, 3-point shootout, skills challenge. So just being able to be a part of that and knowing kids are back home watching me on that screen is cool.
Gui Santos, what's up, Gui?
What's up, my brother?
You good? Yes, sir. How you doing?
I'm good, I'm good. So first of all, I'm here with the NBA Brazil today.
Nice.
First thing I want to know, what you know about Brazil? And also, I want to tell you, we're going to do a bet tonight. So if you win, you— I'm inviting you to go to Brazil with me Of course.
Hold on, only if I win? So if I lose, there's no invite? I thought I was going anyway.
Yeah, you're going anyway, but if you go, like, if you win tonight, you're gonna live like the best, the best of Brazil, you know? I get you the best of Brazil.
So what I know about Brazil, I want to go to Carnival in Brazil.
Carnival?
Yeah, I heard a lot about Carnival, so you got to take your boy to Carnival in Brazil. Can you do that for me?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I would love that.
It's going on right now, actually.
So why are we here?
Let's go. All right, all right, bro. All right, Gui Santos, what's it like walking around being one of us, carrying one of these, huh? Man, I just see how tough it is to be, like, work on this media side, being a reporter. It's not easy. I have a lot of guys helping me here, but I cannot imagine like you guys do, like all that, you know, traveling around and also me asking like a couple tough questions. And it's tough, man. It's tough. That's all I can say, man. He's a legend. Everybody in Brazil know him. It's so good to see everybody here and see all this big event going on here in the Bay Area. What you doing, bro?
You good?
Show some love, show some love for Brazil. Come on, you know, you know.
Yeah.
E aí, like it? Yeah, what up? You good? Thank you, thank you. What's up, brother?
You good?
How you doing?
I'm good, I'm good. Nice to meet you guys. Gui Santos. Yeah, I play for the Warriors. Oh yeah, of course.
You look familiar.
I like the drip, bro. I appreciate you, man. Appreciate you. I'm here with the NBA Brazil today, so I'm covering the All-Star, and I was about to ask you some questions because I watch the videos that you guys do.
Oh yeah, let's go!
And you guys have a big fan community in Brazil. Everybody likes to watch your— That's amazing. That's love. And I want to ask you guys to do, like, if you guys know any Brazilian basketball player. Yeah, Brazil, um, let's go! There's one, they play, that he played for the Golden State and he was champion in 2014. Leandro Barbosa. Leandro Barbosa. Yeah, you got just one more left. Barbosa. There's another one that he played with Tony Parker, he played with, Manu Ginóbili. He was champion too. His first name? Splitter?
Thiago Splitter.
Oh, let's go!
Yeah, I like that.
I like that. I had to go deep in the bag. Come on, let's go. Yes, sir. Appreciate you guys.
Thank you.
Great meeting you, bro. Yeah, great to meet you guys too. Yes, sir. You got to take a flip.
Oh! Marcos! Hello!
Trocamos as posições.
Exato, exato.
Então esses detalhes, cara, eu fiquei enlouquecido.
Não precisa dar luz, me avisa. I can't speak Spanish, but it's better English. I know you have a big community, you have a huge community like behind you. Everybody likes watch you, and we appreciate everything that you do for the basketball. And I heard that you, that you've been to Argentina and you've been a huge event there. Yeah, there's a lot of people. So I was asking you, one day maybe you can go to Brazil, maybe one day do that, because definitely you're gonna bring a lot of people too, man.
Yeah, of course, I would love to. Like, nobody— I think nobody knows me in Brazil, but I can do it.
Like, nah, we know you, we know you, we definitely know you.
Creators from Brazil I'm about to do a match now with MrBeast here in USA. So after that, I will go to Brazil.
So man, thank you so much. And I hope that you go for Brazil. And if you need anything there when you go there, let me know and we can make that happen. Thank you so much. Yes, sir. Thank you. Yeah, nice to meet you. What's up?
He's a reporter this morning.
I'm a reporter today. Okay.
What's up? What's up? What's up?
You coming from Montes?
What's up, Steph? What up, teammate Gui?
What's up, my brother?
Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. I'm here today, not like your teammate, but a reporter.
You're always my teammate. You're always my guy.
Keep going. So the first thing, you know, you have a great influence all around the world. So for you, like, which advice will you give for a kid that came from Brazil, like me? I came from Brazil 3 years ago, see you for the first time was like a dream for me. And now we're teammates. I'm on the court helping you. And like, what advice, kind of advice, you give to a guy from like overseas that want to make it to the NBA?
To watch as much basketball as you can. Um, you know, have obviously confidence in yourself and your work ethic and what makes you unique as a basketball player. Your confidence can take you a long way, and it's not arrogance. It's not believing you're something or better than you are. It's just having confidence in your skill set and, um, you know, the time and the work and the energy that you put into getting better just a little bit every single day. But the more that you can watch basketball and be in environments where you're playing against people that are better than you to, you know, challenge you and test you and expose you a little bit, that can help you, you know, climb the ladder and hopefully opportunities on the other end of it.
So reporting or basketball harder? Basketball reporter. Reporter. Oh, no way. Way harder.
Way harder?
Yes.
You're doing a great job. Appreciate it.
All right, Steph.
Yes, sir, bro. How'd you like it?
That was perfect. That was freaking perfect.
It's weird being on the other side.
Yeah, bro.
Oh my God. Agora é só aproveitar o All Star. Bom, aparecemos aqui no Chase. Aqui é, cara, eu nunca tinha visto, nunca tinha vindo aqui. Que da hora! O engraçado, o engraçado é que aqui muita gente me reconhece. Então eu sou um torcedor, não tanto torcedor assim Bro, I'm good. What's up, what's up, what's up?
Andre!
Oh man, he fly now! How you doing, bro? He fly now! Aqui é alta classe, a gente fica alta classe, suíte. Aqueceu, aqueceu, vamos!
Oh, man! Ah!
What?
That is it! 50!
Say a word! Over! Over! He to—
Vale, review! Pra você ver a influência do cara.
Mobley picks up his teammate Donovan Mitchell and he sticks one. They're defending him, got a little pressure. Don't get that one. Potentially 2 possessions away from a win here, Team Chuck. And Wimbyama, another highlight. Oh, his teammates came through on him. Here's Darius Garland, will fire another. Coming away with the dunk. Chance to win it! That's it! That's it! Moving on!
Alexander moving on to the finals! Até agora eu acertei, até agora eu acertei. Time Estrela, o time internacional ia ganhar, mas eu vou arriscar. Não, deixa acontecer o primeiro jogo. Meu ídolo, Little Hange, mãozinha!
High five, coach! Rick, please!
Come on, man. Come on, man.
Vai, moleque!
Mata a bola, pô! Siga o gola!
Oh my gosh!
Keep sitting.
Keep going. The Associated Press. Now Tatum gets right by the line. Jack Squad up by a point. Target score 40. There's Dogg, connect! Very entertaining slam dunk once again. He's done a great job. A step return, again one more basket for the win. Davion Miller, 3-pointer! There you go, look at it, look at it! Yes indeed! Ae, não precisa levantar não, velho. Tá louco? Levantar é trabalho. E aí?
Bem, graças a Deus.
Legal?
Graças a Deus.
Tá com a camisa boa.
Sou homem, né? Não tem jeito. Ele paga meu salário. Tem que fazer a moral aqui.
Boa demais, boa demais.
Dox Redick, shots fired! Stephen Curry, a running— Oh, there's a Trey Finus! Curry, oh, that's a bucket! —just a few straight— it is! It's over, ladies and gentlemen! It's over! The All-Star trophy to Team Shaq OGs! Let's go! Let the All-Star MVP on this floor go to Steph Curry!
Tamo junto!
