Chapters
Welcome to another episode of Real Dad Movement podcast. The point and purpose of these episodes, as always, is to have a point and purpose towards helping you win the second half in life by building a path of becoming the best father, husband, man and member of your community that you can be. We do this with various ways of connecting. Life is connection. And as you hear these words spoken time, time and time again, know that the driving force of connection in life is energy. Which means that how you turn up as a father, as a husband, as a valued member of society will always start and end with how you turn up as a man within yourself. First, this is why it's my mission, my purpose, our mission, our purpose through Real Dad Movement to inspire, motivate, educate, and guide you into thoughts, feelings, actions, and a change in your belief systems to rise up, cut the shit from your life, and live and leave a real legacy. When dads win, everyone wins. And when you win, I win. Let's get moving forward, mate. Right here, right now, In this special podcast today, what we're going to be diving into is the four steps in your formula for success. Firstly, I just want to commend you for giving your time and effort. As always, there are two things that we never get back. And I know sometimes with our episodes we have different gears. Not sometimes, always. We have different gears where especially some of our HPF episodes, we're going full throttle, Ken and I, and we get quite heated and fiery in some of our messages and messaging. And then other times, you know what, we take a step back and we just try and apply a methodical approach to go, okay, well, what are the steps that I need to take to actually create change in my life? It's all well and true, Al, to have these breakthroughs and discoveries and have different realizations and have key takeaways from your podcast and blah, blah, blah. But what do I do, man? What do I do? And please understand, this is not me giving you a call to action. Go well, this is what you do. Give us a call and sign up and join rdm. Because it doesn't work that way, and it never does and it never will. To be fair, it's about going well. When Al is presented with the current times and what's relevant, he must stay relevant to what the current times present. And not to make that a real. My point is, every now and then, we need to just pull the layers back a little bit, and I like to do these more calming episodes where we're going to be giving you the four steps, which is the formula for success. And I want to give that to you today. And this is a continuous ebb and flow of life where you know what? There's going to be always something that can stand in our way, some adversities, roadblocks, challeng and this is a part of life. There's a lot of hardships to Life. Ask any 80 or 90 year old, right? When you think about it, it's pretty crazy. Even if you live to be 90, that's 30,000 days. That's not a lot yet. Most people when they're 90 are completely cooked, man. They're done. They're like, man, this life, I'm done. Thank you very much. This will do me. So it's fascinating when you can see that the long game is much quicker than you think. But ultimately, a lot of the times we need to make sure we invest in ourselves in the right approach to really knuckle down and create what we believe to be success in our life. And success in our life doesn't come from just beating your chest. Big mindset, motivational pieces with Rocky music in the background. Love the symbolism of what the Rocky movies stand for, but it's a great element to pivot to give you that perception of understanding that yes, we can get motivated from something like that, but that's not just the answer for us. A lot of the times it's really applying the attention that becomes the focus that constructs your reality and applying that in a way that's going to speak through to you. So in this episode, I want to dive into four key areas which is going to create your formula for success. And there's a really big one here which a lot of them are very straightforward and simple. But it's the simplicity in which the chaotic world creates a level of being lost in what the most important thing is, because we continuously get distracted and sedated on what the next shiny object, next silver bullet, next glorious home run will may or most certainly can be when it's not the case. It's never the case. You know, it's always the 1% every single day to move forward. So when we're looking at this formula for success, there's four steps and four steps that I want to run through with you. And this is a process and it must. It should be done in this order. It must be done in this order. As I break open each one, each step, bit by bit, I want you to make sure that you're giving me your undivided attention, whether you're driving, sitting at home, going for a walk. It doesn't matter as much as what the environment's providing, which is you to give your attention. And from that you can start to focus on each key point where we just have a different rhythm and cadence, where I'm going to hit you with a couple of bits and pieces, then I want you to just peel back and go, okay, well, how does that apply to me, Al? How can I apply that to me? Where can I apply that in my life? Why do I need to apply this to my life? And really going through that framework for you to. To find your formula for success? Because the reality is I'm not living life through your eyes. So whilst you connect with a lot of things, most things, if you still listen to my podcast, that I say it rings true to your life. Awesome, mate. I appreciate and respect you for it. But you're going to live your life better than I can. You're living life through your eyes. So all of the wisdom, knowledge, application, actions, game plans, all that sort of stuff, when you apply this, you're going to apply it better than I can because you're going to connect what I'm speaking and delivering to you to where you need to apply it in your life and why. It's a very powerful thing. So don't ever forget that. That's your power. That's yours to be had, yours and yours only in your life. You will only ever be your person, who you are once, and you've owned that and you own that and that is yours. There's only ever going to be. I mean, I'm sure there's lots of Alex Ranieri's in the world. There's only ever going to be this Alex Ranieri, who's delivering this on the 26th of August, you know, middle of the morning, going, hey, this is where we're at, right Time and energy right here and now. We are sitting on top of infinity. This is us. We're in the now moment, just like you're in the now moment. Whether you listen to this an hour later, a day later, a month later, it's fascinating. It really is. So make sure you're proud of that and own that. Let's dive into this formula for success, which really is helping you get clarity on what you need to do and then start moving in the direction that you need to move into. And this formula for success, can't say it five times. Really quickly, I'll start screwing it up. Tough tongue twister. Actually, it starts with actually recognition. The very first step so what you need to do is actually recognize the wins. If you're going to give yourself hardship or you're going to let others, whether it's your misses, your mates, your children slap you on the wrist or give you some hard times for some of the pitfalls, some of the mistakes, some of the screw ups and whatnot and challenging moments where you haven't claimed it or taken ownership or taken leadership, well, they better be wrapping you and giving you a pat on the back for all the good and all the positive. And that, that goes for you too, mate. Like you really need to do this, okay, you're disappointed, you're frustrated, you got the little voice inside and you're building this pattern of being either cynical or pessimistic because that's what provides the natural instincts of survival. Always looking at the threats out there in the wilderness. Where can it go wrong? Why will it go wrong? What can I do to protect? I get all that. But that is not a growth mindset and it never will be. That's something you can tap into through your subconscious, through your instincts and the instincts that are part of our ancestry and our makeup, to be fair, that's already autonomous inside of us. Don't make that chronically active inside of you. That's when your adrenal glands get shot. That's when you have chronic fatigue. That's when you're chronically stressed, worn out, run down, the chaos of life. And the problem is when this happens, you never actually stop to give yourself a pat on the back for the good things that you do. And the pain points behind this is you never actually see the possibilities, what you can do, which affects your belief systems. And the alternative, from not turning that around to getting back in front, is you become a loser in your own eyes, which means become a loser to everyone else, including life. You don't want to go down that path, mate. You don't want to go down that way because no one wins, including yourself. So when we're looking at this, what that becomes is a chronic state of worrying, concern, fear, doubt, regret, not pulling the trigger, focusing on the wrong things. And that's stealing your time and energy and it's stealing your mental capacity as well. You know, forget about, you could have all the time in the world, but still you're mentally drained and exhausted because you're continually fighting fires inside of yourself through the stories that you cook up to make your ultimate reality. Instead of knowing that, hey, life is messy, but I've actually got different parts of my reality that I'm very bloody proud of, very proud of. And this is what I've done. I'm telling you right now, as simple as this sounds, this is the very first step to the formula being complete for your success. Your formula for success comes down to first recognizing that you know what, you are a champion. And you must champion your life. You are the main actor, you are the author of your book. You are on one road and you're the only driver. Whether you want to be in a monster truck or a Lamborghini, it doesn't matter. You're driving the vehicle, man, on your road. I don't know how many other analogies you need or examples that you need. This is your life, this is your reality. No one else's. People will influence it and people will try and control it. People will try and take it. So yes, there must be a natural frame and steel inside of you that can naturally stand guard at the gates of your consciousness, of your internal reality in a way where you know what? I don't live and breathe as the security guard of my own life, but ultimately I have built and installed my belief systems where I'm at, what I'm aligned with. So that when anything is off, you know, is skewed or off center or not aligned with me, I can just nip it in the butt right away, gone, see you later. People, places and things. And I'm cool with that. I'm willing to own that. Look, I'm not here to change the life of 2 to 3 billion dads, you know, the reality is RDM can be for every father. We can always improve, we can always grow, we can always be more. It can be, but it's not. And it's not because of us and what we provide and what we offer and what we can do. It's because of the limiting belief systems that people have in place in knowing that they are not worthy, knowing that they are not good enough, knowing that they cannot do it, when the whole time, all this time, the knowing has come from within. Not me telling you you can't do it, you knowing inside of yourself. Isn't it crazy, the dichotomy of life? People are so sure on some of the knowns that self sabotage and cut them down. Yet when it comes to unknowns of stretching out, expanding discomfort, growing and taking chances, going for it, all of a sudden they don't want to take that step. I don't want to convert positive, optimistic, opportunistic unknowns into knowns, Al. I want to stick with my Current knowns that actually sabotage me every single day. Formula for success. Step one, recognition, man. Recognize all the good that you've done. If you're listening to this. And maybe we have women. Well, we do, we do have mums listening to this as well for their hubbies. And you know, we've got men listening. Like, our audience may not be all fathers and that's cool. I'm not saying stop listening. But yes, of course you know that my message is driven, but the reality is, if you're a father, mate, kudos to you. Take your hat off. Like one of the most phenomenal opportunities in the world in your life, it is the hardest and greatest thing any man will ever experience. Not because of the act itself and not because of the responsibilities themselves. Because of the mirror that gets drawn up and brought into your face on top of all the other moving parts and hats that you wear that comes right in front of you, right in front of your face. It goes, hey, man, you've now got bloodlines. Bloodlines or not, you've now got legacy to look after. You've now got people to look after. You now have a level of responsibility and leadership where you are literally carving out the blank canvas of those around you looking towards you with their eyes, watching everything you do. I mean, that's just. That's such a gift, man. Like, I well up sometimes when I think about it, I'm like, man, I got my children that have nothing, know nothing, and yet they're looking at me and I'm creating their entire world. Like, what a. Who would not want that? Like, if you piss weak and you're down out on yourself, self sabotaging, or you don't want the job or the role, you should have put your dick back in your pants, mate. You know? Like, this is the thing. You can't just turn away at the sign of hardships or adversities, whether it's your children, your family, your work, or yourself. Because what is the outcome? You're reinforcing the wrong patterns. I can't lose. I know this. And I'm not being pigheaded or arrogant. I don't know how to lose. I just don't. I just can't. It just doesn't. It doesn't compute. Inside of my head, inside of my heart. I cannot lose. Does that mean that I've never lost? Of course I've lost before. Of course I've had failures then. I did 44 CrossFit competitions. You know how many I won? I won the last one back end of 2018. And you know what? I got a few podiums here and there. And I won two competitions with teams, but individually, my very last Competition, out of 37 individual competitions, out of 44 total, I won the last one. And you know what? It didn't feel any better or worse than all of the others. Crazy. So when I'm looking at this, when I talk about not knowing how to lose, it's literally become a belief system, a state of mind that is reinforces truth because of my history. So when you're bowing out on yourself, when you're giving up, when you're not recognizing the good in you, when you're not recognizing the great inside of you, when you're not recognizing the opportunities you have taken, the love you've given, the leadership that you've shown, no matter how big, no matter how small, you're reinforcing a pattern that, that doesn't even exist, which means you're literally rewriting history. People think the past is set. No siree, it is not. No way is the past set. Because the constructs of your ever flowing mind in the now can reconstruct what that looks like. You know, I can reconstruct my life and go, you know what? I was, no, I was only fat between 8 and 11 and I just had a couple of hard years. And I can just reinforce that reinforcement. I started weight training when I was 12 years of age, man. I was still heavily overweight until I was nearly 17. So between 8 and 16, that was some very challenging years of my life, man. Bullying girls, feeling depressed, down and out of myself, hating myself, like, that was some pretty heavy stuff. And you know what? It's the truth that I'm willing to own, but I don't fairy tale or sugarcoat it. And I also don't expand or manipulate it to go, oh yeah, I've been obese for 15 or 20 years. No, no, no. All of a sudden, if I keep telling that story, you know, nothing comes true. Just like my career. It was one first grade trial. You know, I played over 100 games in reserve grade, but never made it. Never made a glamorous career in first grade. So when guys say, oh, what career did you have? I don't go, oh yeah, now I was with first grade. Oh, but I just, yeah, I was on the bench or, you know, people reconstruct the reality by telling themselves stories, which means you're literally rewriting the past. Dangerous pattern to fall into. I played one game and it was the only game I played. And in that Game. I did my ACL down in Win Stadium against the Bulldogs. I couldn't believe it, man. Like, it was just, yeah. Oh, mate, life is a crazy thing, but I feel blessed. Because you know what? Maybe at that stage, I look at it now, the ego inside of me, the success, the fame, if I had made a glamorous first grade career, lots of money, I certainly wouldn't be here. No way. And this message, no disrespect to any elite sportsman, this message and what we're doing with rdm, ah, mate, that trumps that every day of the week. It's unbelievable what we're doing here and what we're creating and continue to create and serve with these men. So recognition is important. I know I'm spending a little bit of time on this first point, but it's critically important, man, because everything I just told you then comes around to your belief systems, which becomes a pattern, which becomes what you expose yourself to and focus on. So first, the formula for success. You must recognize the great inside you. You must recognize the wins, the runs on the board and reinforce those, not paint a fantasy. It must be true, it must be real. But it can be so small. Like, you know what? Yeah, actually I remember Al, like last week, mate, I just put my phone in the bedroom and spent every morning with the kids, had breakfast with them, had a laugh with them, and then I got into the chaos and the whirlwind of life at 9 o' clock instead of just scrolling through my phone at the breakfast table, mate, huge, awesome, well done, great wins. It doesn't matter. Because when you recognize the great in you, what you then create is not only an actively consciously aware connection, but a subconscious connection to go, that is what defines me. That is who I am. So all of a sudden, instead of being 18%, a great father, man, husband and whatnot, and 60% somewhere in the whirlwind and the chaos, and then 22%, getting down and out in yourself and thinking you're a failure. All of a sudden you're starting to rack up these wins and you're banking this, you're banking these wins inside of your psychology of going, you know what? No, this is who I am. I don't hit that every time, but I've done it, which means it can be done. And when you start to recognize that inside of you, mate, you start to paint a better picture of yourself. I'm telling you right now, this is the chronic disease in the world. This is the universal flaw that everyone has. Call it tall popping, Yourself, self sabotage, the little voice inside, the universal letdown that every single human being has, father or not, is a lack of self value, a lack of self love, self respect, self worth, whatever you want to call it, it is there. You are worthy. Like as a man, middle aged man, you should love yourself. Why shouldn't you? If you don't love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to? Because that is literally the energetic expressing and frequency that you're putting out to those that you love around you. Which means all of a sudden you become a burden to your wife because you're waiting for her to carry you through the day all the time. And guess what? She's got her own shit to sort out. So she's tired now and she's fatigued and run down. You cannot carry that chronic energy, mate, that pulls yourself down and then expect others to see you in a better light. Now, again, on the flip side, of course, it's what we do inside rdm. Sometimes it takes someone else to believe in you for you to believe in yourself. That's why we're here, man. It's what we do. When I'm engaging and interacting in the tribe, I'm not seeing the current version of who Anthony is, or the current version of who Tom is, or Mickey's or David is, or Max is, or Drew is. I'm seeing just a little bit better version of them, but I'm communicating to the current version of who the better version is. Hey, we're using the current version of who you are, but I'm actually talking, I'm communicating to the slightly better version because I know he's there. Let's go get him, let's get him together and let's enjoy the journey. Always, always. Doesn't mean we're unsatisfied or ungrateful, incredibly satisfied and grateful for my life, but here we are. Am I going to chew up more of the timeline of my life being the same? Why? Doesn't make sense. You've got the opportunity. Life is very simple. You're either changing and improving or changing and getting worse. And that comes down to your application of energy, the expression, the ripple effect and the legacy leave. Which means I don't need to be an elite athlete at 80 years of age, but if I've got a team of 150 employees with me and we've built this movement which is connected to hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of dads, well, is that not a sign of improving in growth as opposed to how fast I can do, you know, pull Ups, muscle ups. And how heavy I can do a clean and jerk or snatch with. The game changes. But you must always recognize the first step in formula for success. Muffin that one up. Suc cess is don't ask me to put on a Kiwi accent. I'll fail miserably. The first step in the formula for success is recognizing and really recognizing the greatness inside you. The second one is understanding and understanding this. There's four steps. Recognizing. Second one, Understanding. Understanding that man. For you to do something above and beyond and greater than what you've done before, you need to do something you haven't done before. Whatever you're doing right now, slow down and really listen to this. Like, it sounds so basic, but how come 99% of the world misses it? If you want to change your circumstances and you want to improve where you're at, you need to do something you haven't done before. So from what you're currently doing, if you want a different outcome, you need to do something different from what you're currently doing. You know, people want to change and improve their circumstances, but they're not willing to change or improve themselves. You are the vessel that life is being lived through. What don't you understand with that? And this is the pitfall most people fall into. If I just grind harder, like, what do you think's gonna work for this? If Al just keeps doing 80 to 100 hour weeks? Or how about Al has a team of nine now and we're doing 500 hour weeks? How does that sound? That sounds like it's probably gonna be a better movement, doesn't it? Because now I've got experts in all their individual fields that are just dominating their area of excellence, which means I can focus on my area of excellence and my zone of genius, which has really been the alignment coach. And that skill set of helping the man move from point A to point B, understanding point minus, say the alternative is real and let's never go there. So you need to understand this man. You must go above and beyond. And that doesn't mean grazing your knees, groveling, crawling, or doing other bits and pieces that just lead to a further grind or being ignorant in your approach. True power is knowledge, understanding and learning and then taking action and then reflecting on the first two and that becomes a cycle. This isn't about the grind and hustle. That's bullshit. You're going to be back on your deathbed going, I wish I grinded and hustled more, given I don't even remember my children's. Memory. I don't have memories of my children and their upbringing. Formula for success, recognize the greatness inside of you. But then understand, man, no matter how great you've done or what you're currently doing, whether it's your habits, your patterns, whatever it may be, you need to do something you haven't done before. This is what cracks me up on some of my Facebook ads when guys like, oh, you don't need a fucking coach. Just, just do this, this, this and that. I'm like, fucking bravo. Yes, we're all rich, skinny and happy. Awesome. Where are my other billionaires at? Where you at, man? Oh, well, hang on, we got the answer. It's right there. Old mate. Just said it. There's your fucking answer. Count your calories, exercise. Awesome. You know, make love to your wife and write her some love notes. Yeah, great. Well done, man. Awesome. Game over. Where's. Oh, hang on a minute, hang on a minute. What have we got? We got. Yeah, shit, hang on. We've got about 6 million Australian fathers and. Yeah, wow. There's probably, probably 5 million that aren't quite doing that. Okay. Or probably not doing it to the level they can. Oh, what happened there? Where's that disconnect? You know, it's. It's such a low level thing. I mean, I'm from being bullied, picked on, you know, being in elite sports, incredibly toxic environments at times. Different teams, different clubs. Dragons was a nightmare. No disrespect to Dragons fans, it was just the environment. I was part of that. The leaders there were very poor. I won't name names, but yes, they're absolutely poor. And, you know, I love my time with the Panthers. That was like family, man. Those guys were unbelievable. You know, how they brought me through just after they won the grand finale three. Go figure, right? You're acting like a family. So when I step in, that's why they won the competition. You can see that. That's why they won in 03. But all that aside, like, all of this gave me a skill set to be incredibly fast, very witty, and I can be a smart ass like you wouldn't believe, but you don't. You know, who wins, who wins living there. Right. I don't want. I might use that. I don't like showing my teeth. I will when I need to, but it's. It's not a must, you know, it's a waste of time for everyone, really. But I will do it if. If there's a threat to myself, my family. Absolutely. But with all these Facebook comments and whatnot. I mean, I laugh at a lot of them these days. Nothing like I'm unshakable in that respect because I know what we do works. And we've got amazing runs of the war with our fathers. And it's. It's from a place where it's creating, man. It's creating some unbelievable changes. I'm so proud of these men. But ultimately, when someone just comes up and says, here's the answer, good on you, mate. What's next? You must back that up with reinforcing the psychology of understanding that, you know what I need to do something that I haven't done before. And for a lot of people, this isn't a pitch for you to join rdm. It's definitely not how I work or level work. You know, when the man's ready, he comes through, which is why our culture is phenomenal. And he's the right fit and we accept him. But when someone comes in there and goes, oh, you don't need a coach, blah, blah, blah, I'm like, okay, well, how come you haven't done it then, mate? Awesome. Why don't you go off to your own devices? Off you go, lone wolf. How come you haven't created X, Y and Z, then? I'm sorry? The words that you're speaking don't marry up with the history and the patterns that you're portraying. And the rest of your life, that's fucking falling apart. I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused. It's why coaching can work so well, or not. You must find something you're connected to that draws you in to challenge you and help you with what you need. And that sort of flows from the second point into the third. But just to finish on this second point, the second step. So many men who've never done the type of coaching we've done before, I get it, man. It's unfamiliar, it's unknown. You don't know about it, but it might be the answer. If you haven't done it before, there's something you need to do that you haven't done before that's going to change your current circumstances. For the current version, you are into the version you need to become. Otherwise, what happens? You just keep your current company, and the company you keep is the company you continue to become, which becomes a vicious cycle in your life. And that's okay if everything's moving forward and you're growing. But if you're not and you're not happy, mate, something's got to give first point, recognize the greatness in you. Second point, the second step is understanding that to get what you want or what you desire or to change into who it is that you need to become, you need to do something you haven't done before. I know that sounds so basic, but man, that is the truth. That is the truth of life. That is growth. Just like me building these teams. I'm a phenomenal leader and I'm very inspiring through my own actions. But now how do I pull the levers on the psychology of all of my teams to get the most out of them? Give them what they want, help them grow. Not be the cheerleader, not be the Nazi, be on the level, get out of my own way and help them get out of their own way so they can perform and execute. Massive production, massive capacity as a human being. Not just someone who dons the IDM badge. And that's an unknown that's becoming known very quickly. Why? Because I'm transparent. Because I'm leading with my own actions. Because I'm serving these men, I'm serving our coaches and continually exploring that you must do what you haven't done before. Formula for success. Point three is discovery. That ties into what I was talking about with the coaching. Recognize the greatness in you. Understand that what you need to do is something you have a number for, which means discover. What is that owl? What do I need to do? Well, this is where discovery comes into play. It can't come just from you. That's why books are an amazing thing. You're literally reading history. Like we're looking at books as opposed to courses, university studies. Pick whatever you want. But ultimately, and it's nothing against university or people who want to go into education. When I'm reading books, I'm reading the history of what's been done direct from the horse's mouth of a man who's going to accelerate what I can learn that might have taken him 10, 15, 30 years. I can learn it in a couple of weeks of reading. Man, that is savage. Like, you have no idea the power of books. I know there's all those different fucking quotes and rattles off. You know, a successful CEO reads a book a week and blah, blah, awesome. They are all true. But I'm not here to rattle off all these cliches from all these other people, but it is true. Like successful people read a lot or listen a lot. Audiobooks, even yourself. Look, I get emails from a lot of you guys going, oh, thank you so much, my life has changed. Bang, bang, bang. Bang, bang in these key areas. Why we're up to 133 podcast episodes. So chances are, if you're diving into this and living, breathing a lot of stuff, even some of my original stuff, and I'm going to redo episode one every year, I think it's important to redo who is Al, who is Alex Ranieri, and give you an update. But all of the real early stuff, there's still value. There's always a golden nugget that you can find and pull from this, which means you are educating yourself and learning and applying actions. I can't tell you how many guys have emailed me saying that they've saved their marriages and they're not even members. Man, that's awesome. That's so exciting for me. I'm like, shit, man, how cool is that? This guy may not need rdm or maybe he can have it, but at this stage he doesn't need it because guess what? He went out on his own, but he took what we gave him through these podcasts and he's applied it and he's winning. That's so awesome. Like, I love that stuff. That is so cool to see. But discovery must be something outside of yourself. The formula. Recognize the greatness inside of you. Understand that what you're doing must change. What you need to do is probably something you haven't done before, but you need to discover what that is, and you can't do that on your own. People, places and things, books, different environments, different courses, different forms of tutorials. Whether it's something of a coaching video series, audiobooks, ebooks, or being coached one to one, or being part of a coaching group or tribe and finding your tribe, you must discover what those steps are, and it can never come just from you, because you're stuck in your own patterns, your own way. Just like me. Like, I've got a massive sweet spot. I've got a huge range of perceptions, perspectives, and seeing things from different eyeballs. But it's still just luck, doing what Al can do best. And then sometimes I get hit with other things that I don't even agree with from a different person and perspective. But then when I sit back, I'm like, wow, that's fascinating. Their whole perception is around this. And whilst I don't align with it, there's something in there that I can learn. So you're always learning. I learned many things from my father of what to do, and I learned many things from my father of what not to do. And that's no disrespect to the old man. It's a blessing. Thank you sir. Thank you for your fuck ups because it showed me what not to do. Just like I'm going to have that same approach with my children. There's plenty of things that I shouldn't probably do where I could have done better or I look in hindsight, you know, I've got two daughters. I've never been in a house with girls before. Are they going to be ways that I handle teenage daughters? Maybe. And maybe there's better way. Awesome. This is how I'm going to educate my children and help them grow and develop. What to do, what not to do through living my life. But at least I'm standing up and having a crack. And I do that by continually exploring outside of myself to discover what those steps are to move through and be successful in life. Just before we dive into the last point, the last step, I just want you to take a minute to yourself and just go through what we've gone through in these first three steps and just ask yourself where that applies to your life. Where will this apply to your life? Recognizing where do I need to apply a level of recognition to go, you know what? I am proud of this. And mate, immediately you feel lighter before you dive into the household, jump out of the car, getting home from work, just kick back and go like, you know what, take a breath. I'm just, I'm an amazing father. Like I know I screw up a bit here and there, but I love my children, I die for my kids. You know what, I'm going to live for them too. And I'm just so blessed to have my family and they're blessed that they are lucky to have me. But I'm going to show them why they're lucky. Not through just putting food on the table and putting money in the bank, yet through actually turning up, walking through that door, giving a big hug, laughing and just looking at them and just being present with them. I'm serious mate, do this. Like there's times when I'm playing with Roman and we're just laying there and we're giggling and laughing. He's nearly one year old and like I've just stopped. I'm just looking like at his eyebrow and his hair follicles and then when his eyes looking at me and then when he smiles and his cheeks turn up and then he's man, he's got massive hands. He's going to be an absolute beast. Fire 80 is going to be a weapon and I'm looking at all this stuff. And I'm looking at these little tiny fingernails, like this level of this degree of focus and concentration, which means when I'm doing that, that's why yoga and breath work's amazing. There's nothing else you can focus on. It's impossible. And I'm looking at this, I'm like, have a look at this fucking miracle. Look at this thing. Same with my two daughters, both of them ivf. I'm like, without being disrespectful to them, we did a proper process. They'll blast those cysts and there was a seven day process where they were frozen. And then they'll fought out. But I'm basically looking at going, these kids are in a fucking petri dish. Like, have a look at this. And now I've got Stella and Lillian and they're just bundles of energy. What a miracle. What an absolute miracle. And they're blessed for the opportunity to live. Why? Because I've given them that blessing because of who I am. I am their father. Not just biology. I am their father. Every day turning up. Recognize that, then understand, where do you need to apply action? Why do you need to apply action? And then how are you going to apply it? Let's start discovering this. You know, look, what does that look like? What are the hows? You know, the what's and the whys. They're either end of the bridge. The how is the bridge itself. How do I start building the blocks to create that bridge to go from A to B? Understand that what you, what you need to do is something you probably haven't done before, mate. This is the gift of life, right? We never stop learning discovery. How will you do this? What's your environment look like? What coaches, mentors do you have? What books are you reading? What audios are you listening to? Where are you paying attention? Are you making notes? Are you listening to this podcast now? And are you going to write down on a piece of paper your top three takeaways and just leave it in your car? Right near the gear stick or the handbrake? And every time you jump in the car, these are my three takeaways. Formula for success. Recognize, understand, discover, execute. They're the four steps. Beautiful. Where's my biggest one? Understanding. Okay, cool. Ask a question. What do I need to do today that's going to move my life and my family's forward tomorrow? Bang. There your three points asking that question. I've got a big writing on my whiteboard here. It says, is what I'm doing today moving Me closer to my destination or further away. I've got a couple other quotes from Michael Jordan. He's one of my heroes. It started with hope. That's just one of his finishes to the Last Dance documentary and another one from him. Why would I think about missing a shot I haven't taken yet? That's very powerful, man. That just taps that. Doesn't that say it all to his entire career? Like that, mate? It's unbelievable. Yes. That fourth step is execution. Execute. You must execute. Recognize the greatness inside of you. That's going to set your state for what you need to start exploring and looking for. And what you're looking for is what you need to do that you haven't done yet, because you need to do that. And whether it's uncomfortable, whether it's new, unknown, fearful, scared, we all have that don't live there. I experience fear. I experience being scared. I don't live there. I don't make it a chronic state to become my opinion. I then force onto others, especially my children. Understand that what you're doing needs to change. And what you need to do is probably something you haven't done before. Discover that. Surround yourself with the right environment, whether it's tools for learning, resources, ebooks, audiobooks, literal physical books, podcasts, coaches, mentors, tribe, whatever it may be discovered. You need to discover what that looks like. And you can't discover that on your own. And then execute. You must take action. Set your game plan up. Start taking action. From that action, you can rinse and repeat all. Okay, Recognize what was the greatness inside of those actions. What do I need to change? Understand? Where do I need to change up what I've done over the last month? That's worked. That hasn't worked. Okay, where's my environment? That's going to help harness and nurture me into what I need to keep doing. And then execute on that again. And this becomes the rinse and repeat. This becomes the rinse and repeat. This becomes the 1% every single day. And sometimes you're going up the steps, sometimes you're going down the steps, but ultimately, sometimes you're on the same step and you're just taking a moment to pause and breathe. And you know what? That's okay, too, because it's going to help you reposition yourself, your framework from a position of power to go. Okay, cool. Here we are. Let's go again. This is your formula for success. I hope this episode has served you well. Your formula for success. Four steps, four key points. Recognize the greatness in you understand what you're currently doing needs to change if you are to improve. Which means you need to understand that what you need to do is probably something you haven't done before, or it's more of what you've done sporadically. But you need to build consistency and make it a habit, which is a belief system of who you are. That's your identity. Discover. Discover exactly what those next steps look like, because a lot of the times they're unknowns that you can't find through the scope of your current patterns of your thoughts, feelings and emotions and the way that your brain operates. And that's okay. I'm not saying you're dumb. I'm the same. That's why I have a coach. That's why my life dramatically changed. When I started investing in coaches and investing in myself. I spent nearly upwards around 150k on coaches. And that's not to brag. Plenty have spent more and plenty have spent none. But I can look back at my track record in history and how much I've grown in the last six years and it's been fucking ridiculous. It's crazy. Like, it's actually overwhelming. Even though I'm still tenacious and driven and hungry and I want to improve this. It should be better. This should get better. I need to get better at this. Let's get on this, let's make this better, let's make this fucking phenomenal. Let's improve that. I look back and I come, man, I'm worlds away from 12 months ago, let alone six years ago. Worlds away. That's. It's crazy. It's actually scary in a good way. What can happen, you don't know what you can do. That's a great gift. That's limitless. That's not limited. That's limitless. But that'll only happen when you're discovering what you need to do, which you haven't done before. After setting a state of recognizing the greatness that you can have and who you can be with your environment, coaching, mentors, resources, tools and education to position you to start taking different types of action, which is the fourth step. Executing. You must execute, man. Life is action. Even your thoughts, they're a form of action. Everything is a form of action. The level is different, the level varies. And that's what you need to ask yourself. Am I hitting a low level form of action, my life? Or am I doing all of it? Thinking, feeling it, writing it, reading it, believing it, acting it, reinforcing it, collaborating with that, creating A ripple effect. Building my legacy of my children's through the legacy of my own. What am I doing to continually expand my energetic expression and output to the world, to the universe, so I can continually overcome what resistance is the universe puts in front of me. I hope this serves you well. Man, I love doing these episodes, I really do. I enjoy the guests, I enjoy the HPF stuff with Ken, but it's really good just to dial it back a bit. Even though there are a few little pockets there of intensity. But just dial it back a bit and just sit and be present with yourself and go. You know what? Even peeling the onion layer back one more what does success actually look like to you? Create your own form. I don't care what people push onto me or what I should have for success. What's success to me? What does that look like? Awesome. Well, this is the formula to get that recognizing that you are the man, you think you're the problem. You're the common denominator. You are the solution. You are the one. Everything else connected to your life is connected to you. Your children, your family, your work, your business, your communities, your environment. That doesn't mean that the world is solipsism and you're the only thing. We're all connected, right? But you, this is your reality that you're currently receiving what I'm delivering right now. So recognize that. Understand that you need to change. Discover what that looks like outside of yourself to help influence what you need to do inside of yourself and execute. Take action. Above all else, always take action. Make sure you tune in for more episodes soon and check out our YouTube channel. We've got some awesome videos rolling out there too.
