You on thanks for having me alex.
Appreciate it that's right if you thought if your last night's grand final was exciting you've seen nothing yet we've got jason talking about putting his young men through lifting five thousand thirty kilo pavers oh mate what a journey it's great to connect with you jason we're going to go through all things family self and service so jason you know is the i was going to say the word caretaker but it's pretty it's pretty incredible isn't it mate to be fourth generation business and then to be a man who's getting up before the sun beating the sun every day turning his young boys into very strong men and athletes and living and breathing the high performance father message as a high performance father himself so really excited to share jason's story with you guys today i hope you get a lot of value out of this i know you will there are a lot of different key points where we highlight you know clear indicators that maybe there are areas of your life where you're not doing enough and maybe there are areas of your life that you're doing okay but you need that extra push that extra bit of accountability and that's what we're all about here truth and transparency in how we operate and through seeing jason get up and we track all of our training and everything on the inside and getting into the red zone and pushing hard and and driving the group one one of many inside hpf it's really inspiring i must say jason it gave me a great kick up the ass through all the health issues and challenges i've had to really be like well mate you know he's here's this man i've connected with only a few months ago and he's just absolutely dominating but appreciate you being on mate i guess i'd love to share for you to share a little bit of your background and and your story you're out west or west of of sydney and yeah mate i'd love to get some insights into jason mccallum and you know a bit of your background your history mate and then obviously we'll talk about why.
We'Re here yeah thanks alex mate before hpf i was i don't know i was best word to be lost just lacked direction lack drive lacked a lot of things actually motivation i was put on a bit of weight and yeah you guys come along and made it sort of inspired me listen to all the stories inside hpf and what the other men were up to and that and just gave me the balls mate to get up in the morning and have a crack show me that you know there is light at the end of the tunnel carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders all the time and yeah once you get in have a go mate that you know that wake's not that bad you can lift it you can push it you can do whatever you want with it so yeah mate to you know i've got two young lads sixteen and thirteen they're at that age where they need leadership guidance and you know direction so the best person to do that's myself get in and show them how it's done and yeah what you can achieve if you really put your mind to it and have a go so yeah my sixteen year old is now working for the family business on third generation so he's now fourth generation is our sixty eighth year in business yeah tough times of late this year hasn't been too bad but the last couple through corona absolute killers but we're still going survived it come out the other side and we're pushing hard again yeah that's.
Incredible mate sixty eight years fourth gen and share with us a little bit about your business mate and what you do we're going to definitely talk about quantum bod that's that's insane but yeah i'd love to hear about your business and potentially maybe that was the reason why possibly it's it's hard to say like with us as men we we want to protect and provide for our families but there are a couple of parts where we just seem to either a miss the mark or b what's expected of us is not actually always the answer and those we love and care about get influenced to believe otherwise but yeah talk to us a bit about your business mate fourth gen like what what is it that you do.
Yeah my my grandfather started it down in the docks boilermakers is what we are so fixing ships and stuff like that he come in contact with gordon ma senior from mar contracting the big tower cranes you see around the city they sort of joined you know become a bit of an alliance and yeah we started fixing cranes putting cranes on buildings and doing all that big heavy heavy engineering then my father joined obviously and yeah that became ad mccallum and son and yeah so dad was in the business for a long time did a lot of things been to a lot of places you know i've been over to christmas island spelled with an xmis christmas island halfway between here and hawaii i've had to fly to hawaii then catch a little plane back to fix a crane that they use to unload and and load their supplies for the island and yeah we do lots of the two hard basket stuff a lot of stuff that people don't want to touch that's our our bread bread and basket mate we just yeah don't say no we get in and have a go got a lot of t one contractors that we work for you name it john holland thieves komatsu caterpillar volvo all the big names in the in the yellow goods they all come to us for advice and yeah we help me out wherever we can it's unreal sorry started this year mate and first year apprentice boilermaker and he's kicking guys he loves it he loves the challenge loves to get in have a go and yeah it's good good to.
See something better mate than seeing things that stand the test of time because that seems to be in such a fickle world mate that there's all that actually lasts or appears to have any value because everyone's just chasing the next thing or people like yeah or people lack depth in in purpose so they're just constantly chasing or or maybe they're they're distracted or sedated as well whether it's drugs alcohol you know it's it's quite it's quite sad when we say the world mate what you're sharing is quite a unique and rare thing in today's world jase which is one of the reasons why i wanted to get you on to share your story as well because behind everything you just mentioned is a man the man and men around him and you know i remember like was yesterday you and me actually connected not not one of our other coaches and we had a we had a great session mate and obviously you you're a great fit for us and and vice versa mate we've provided some some great value and service for you and so far the rest is history we've still got plenty plenty in a good way plenty more to do because when we i don't know like i'm opening your thoughts on your experience so far but i find with a lot of these men who are driven high performers in certain areas of life like yourself it's like when you hit a when you when you reach that mountain you're like cool this is a new baseline you seem to have a different set of eyes and it's just it's such an ironic thing because what we find is people will always set goals from the version of where they are so it's a week you've got to almost be a visionary it's like well what what would a better person want because this is the person i am now so i'm trying to think of what that would look like which is why i love the the coaches i.
Say it in the business all the time you just got to step back and look from the outside in sometimes look at it as a whole picture and yeah because when when you're inside it you can't see it you know you tunnel vision this is what i'm doing you got to step back have a big look at it yeah definitely.
What do you feel like when you say you're feeling a bit lost mate like what was i know you mentioned when we spoke on the call like probably a little bit snappy at the boys probably weren't doing anything for yourself you just bit stretched or what what do you feel was some of the the key points mate that was leading to you know just you just obviously wanting to turn the tide and improve and change things and you weren't quite satisfied with where things were at yeah.
Like it was business businesses you know like i said it's been through some tough times with the corona and that and just everyone wants a slice here and then you know just just the cost the amount of money that's going nowhere you know what i mean you're just throwing it away you're working damn hard and you're just pouring money here pouring money there and then everyone wants to pay rise all of a sudden it's like far out you know where does this end does it ever end you know what i mean it's just it was tough it's yeah but getting your mind straight and focusing on what you can do at that point in time is what really changes things you know what's the one thing you can do at any given point to make it better change your attitude your outlook reflects back on you because you know if you've got a attitude towards things and you're getting that back from your workers and everyone else they can see it in you and you know they give it back to you so you gotta change your mindset and go in there positive it's all about positivity as well the more positive you are the more positive comes to you i think.
What do you find some of the things that holds people back from doing that though because there's this stress and pressure especially as you're pushing at the level that you push at as we do being high performers is it because they're alone is it because you find a lot of men are either left to their own devices they don't have the right level of accountability or what do you find or i guess on the flip side what have been some of the key things that has changed that for you with with hpf yeah.
Definitely accountability mark because for the long for a long time my old man has been retired now probably eight years so i've had no one on that you know i'm top dog in the business and there's no one to talk to no one to give me advice or anything like that it's yeah so the accountability side of it's huge just being accountable and you know certain the messages from the other men and and you know knowing that i'm not the only going for these struggles was a big thing for me just to know that you know someone's got your back which is a big thing it seems.
The more successful you get the the lonelier that it becomes mate to some.
Degree you could say that you could say that yeah there's not there's not people that you can talk to about that sort of stuff you know what i mean a lot of my mates one of mine's business and we have good chats about you know the struggles and that but the others sort of work for people and it's a different different thing you know they come home from work and switch off and that's it my mind never switches off three am you wake up and that's it you're on you can't turn it off.
We need to create the the three am club mate everyone's doing it now jace it's been known for about six weeks now bit t last night but daily savings it was like two am like that's starting to push it and yeah pretty pretty crazy talk to me about it i love seeing your training and i know it's just one thing but here's the key thing for all the men watching or listening to this as well like if you don't have your body squared away what do you have like it doesn't matter what the digits are in the bank account doesn't matter what what nice things you have for your wife or for your children like physiologically which ties in directly your your physical health is a foundation from which everything builds on your mental and emotional health what do you have like if you don't have that squared away and that was a big thing for me as of late jase when through my poor health and challenges with my throat and other things for twelve months it's good now but last september was when it all kicked off pretty crazy man and found myself looking at the scales because six foot four i carry myself pretty well but looking at the scales one day i was like one hundred and twenty one kilos the i wasn't even close to this when i was playing footy what's going on here and you know trim back down to one hundred eight kilos now just shedding thirteen put not not overnight obviously but not as long as you think and the craziest part that i got from this not to not to go off on a bit of a tangent but the craziest part is both of those versions of alum and both of those outcomes and and the weight on the scales happen in the same year now i know we've only got ninety days of the year left but this is what a lot of people don't realize especially when it comes to all new year's resolutions and all the shit where people just they go and then they they disappear and ninety two percent fail in the first four weeks that's a real statistic on news resolutions that's insane the top three or four are generally health and wellbeing related as well so that goes to show the level of discipline resilience and people who generally don't have accountability but you can create unbelievable change in the same fucking year that like is that not enough of a motivator to be like mate i'm in phenomenal shape now i've got a four pack coming through probably not far off a six and it's like what's changed it's just fucking decisions man just making a decision like choices are one thing you've got different things to pick from but making a decision is when you're following through on a choice and for me it was like and i gotta say like you're one of the men who inspired it seeing your training your meps they're tracking and i was like if all these other guys are doing it i understand i've got health there are always reasons why we we might be limited but i was like i can't just lean on that anymore i can eat better i can go for walks because i couldn't get my heart rate up because my throat everything was getting was playing up man but i've just built over time and it's incredibly inspiring but i guess that's why i wanted to share seeing you and your training hitting the yellow hitting the red zone which is a really high level of performance like your intensity is phenomenal early in the morning taking at least one of your young blokes with you so he's seeing that all the time but what are some of the new habits some of the actions and changes you've made mate and how's that impacting you obviously energy must be one but yeah talk me through some of those.
Changes my young bike was going to the gym in the afternoon so i started coming with him and we always found we we'd hit a day then missed two then hit a day and then missed three and it was just tough mate like there was always an excuse why we couldn't do it in the afternoon and i said mate that's it we're getting up at four am and there's no excuse and there's no reason why we can't so we're up at four we go and hit the gym for an hour hour and a half and hit it hard and then might come home get my thirteen year old a bed and get him off to school then go to work so there's no excuse it's just get up get up and get into it so yeah and once i hit the gym mate it's i'm there for a reason i'm not there to talk i'm not there to make friends i'm there to buddy you know kick this fat off me and sweat it out i'll go hard and i'll go home simple as.
That what does that do for your mindset though we talk about positivity and positive mindset like what i love the most about hbf is yes we talk about being confident and self respect and being valuable in relationships and everything else whether it's marriage with our children in ourself but buck mate there are real tangible markers that creates undeniable proof that you're a winner we talk about confidence being not a feeling it's a lag measure after a series of facts you're getting up at four am you're beating the sun up you're training hard you're getting there to rip in you're influencing and leading your young bloke so there's a level of accountability and that relationship father and son you're in control like what's what does that do for you like starting your day like that as opposed to just waking up and reacting to all the fires yeah mate like.
I said at nine am smoker a lot of people aren't starting word mate i've done five hours by then it's it's phenomenal it's just and the the endorphins you get from going to the gym mate it's just i thrive off that and pump all day long you know my partner my current partner now she sees it she goes we can go to the gym because we went away working so i didn't go to the gym for a week and a half man she said geez you you're grumpy what's wrong with you and i said i don't know i just need to go to gym went to the gym mate and she goes you're going to the gym every day it just changes your whole mentality you just feel good in yourself and you just want to go out and keep goals yeah.
One hundred what are some of the other things that you've like i guess talking about like your journey with hpf so far mate how have you found the experience as a whole obviously the service that we provide but just the tribe too the group of men like what are some i guess some takeaways or some points you wanted to share with guys who are probably on the outside and not not on the inside.
Yeah mate obviously the comradeship and and the challenges i love the challenges you know that really inspires me get up and i see other guys what they're pushing out in their maps and stuff and that really drives me that i'm fifty three years old i don't know how old all the other guys are but man i love to get in and have a go always been that bloke just got to have a go you know all all the i'm listening to audio books while we're while i'm in the gym as well which is you know really inspiring some of the stuff the one thing that was awesome yeah there's some really good books that you know gets you thinking and and changes your mindset as well as to what you think you can achieve and makes you want to go and achieve it you know i'm a bit of a dreamer and i dream big and this sort of helps me focus and then go in a straight line rather than zigzag over the place you know i want to get to where i'm.
Going yeah one hundred percent you're and you're linked up your one to one coach is coach benny mate it's got the seal of approval he might listen.
To this mate benny's a good bloke i like him a lot i've got a lot of respect for him he he's a straight shooter tells me you know get into it and have a go and you know i've been a bit slack on on some of the you know stuff he's asked me to do in that side of it which i really need to you know kick in and and get into that just his second business takes up a lot of my time no excuses but it's just taking up a lot of time.
Yeah that's where things like the one thing with gary keller and just a lot of the approaches that we get are for some of these books or audiobooks or things that we share with the group some of the courses inside h obviously the coaching sessions that you know it's crazy isn't it jace like we don't have enough time in this world to do all the things that we want let alone fuck around on things that probably don't really matter and that that's a big thing for us like the hour we we spend is an hour that we'll we'll never get back today being october the second and october third twenty twenty three we've got ninety days of the year left it's crazy it's crazy mate it really is yep and your things are going well mate in relationships as well with both the young the young men mate and.
And the misses yeah mate yeah sorry.
My phone is going off.
My youngest the thirteen year old mate he's he's loving life killing it he got in a bit of trouble at school at the beginning of the year got expelled but mate i wasn't mad at him at all he been bullied for a long time and he had an ass turn around and stood up for himself and yeah anyway that's one stories at a new school now where they got a lot of respect for him in that and he's mate killing it all his grades are right up he hasn't been in trouble once so that's really good a little he's he's a paid actor so he's been acting since he was seven one of his tv series court come out the other night i think it was the second come out he's in episode four on that he's done a lot of tv commercials and things like that mate and yeah he earns good money i've invested it all for him so he'll be he'll be right but insane that mate he still takes the mower up the street knocks on doors and says mate can i mow your lawn comes back and he said look got some money i'm putting it towards buying a farm which is yeah it's inspiring it's good the apple doesn't fall far from the cream line.
Mm yeah absolutely that's awesome we talk about we spoke about that the other day didn't we talking about showing showing our sons who to be as men of course showing our daughters who to look for in a man but showing our sons hey this is the world it's going to be incredibly tough like you know in terms of equality the way it's measured at times it just doesn't quite make sense when people are trying to you know make men and women obsolete in their own individuality for us as men it's a hard world jace you know we need to make sure our our boys carry the work ethic and the resilience and they go out and and they earn their stripes and when you're mentioning that the other day about the law miners like mate that's awesome like my young bloke roman he'll be doing exactly the same you know moving the pavers all that sort of stuff the hard work and the labor and the things that like training in the gym your sixteen year old get up like how many sixteen year olds out there are getting up at four am going in the gym with their old man or their mates yeah.
That'S for sure yeah no that's good love it and my relationship mate i've got a new partner now sort of been over a month into it and mate it's awesome you know i i sort of always been into relationships and you you know tread lightly and all that mate this one i just went straight in and ripped the band aid off and just said this is who i am you either accept me for who i am or you know walk away it's the best best start relationship ever it's it's so refreshing man something unbelievable yeah it's good that's awesome that's.
Great mate what would be what will be some advice or what what are some key takeaways i know you spoke about positivity being accountable just ripping in and taking action but you know for the men listening out there who obviously aren't on the inside with hbf like any any advice or key takeaways as a man who's moving through into his forties into his fifties moving through his life like what would be the advice you would give men who might have felt like you were well they're stuck or what would you say man like what's some advice some of the guys.
Out there speak up don't keep it inside tell someone you know as men we're taught to suck it up and and all the rest of it the best thing you can do is let it out let someone else know and you never know they might have the answers to be able to you know help you through what you're doing and you guys certainly have done that for me the answers just you've only got to put out you know a message out on the thing and you get you know ten blokes fifteen blokes come back to you with all the voice and you know you take what you can from that and go with it it's yeah it's it's a wealth of knowledge in there like you know yeah no that's a good place to be i found it phenomenal and changed my life and you know it's only been a couple of months and just turn me around one hundred percent i'm in the right direction again it's just great.
It'S a high level of men and i really love the environment you know like i'm accountable to the tribe i am doing three am getups but i'd be a liar and a hypocrite jason if i wasn't doing that and i'm promoting all of this to the group and the tribe and structure and dialing in your time and being in control and that's what i love too man it never ends doesn't matter how successful you are in family self or service the accountability and having those standards that they never end so when you're part of a group and you keep raising those standards and contributing being inspired just becomes a big wheel and a big big circle mate which yeah it's what it's what i love about hpf and it's probably ironically enough obviously the one one coaching and all the access and experts aside i'd say the tribe and having that group that continually pushes and stretches to version two point zero version three point zero and whatnot like that's what brings and breathes longevity and life in life itself i feel mate you know which is why i love sharing stories like yours man thanks yeah it's.
It'S definitely inspiring it's there's no doubt about makes you it pushes you it's as simple as that just push you drives you to be better.
Speaking of better mate talk to me about this you've shown me pictures where where i don't want a podcast the guys might not be able to those listening won't be able to see it but like have a look at this so quantum bodies there he is the man himself this looks insane quantum quantumbod dot com so tell us a bit about i've never seen anything like this in my life tell us a little bit about this this new venture you got going on mate because this looks like it's absolutely next level yeah it was it.
Spawned from frustration mate to be honest being a tradie and working in town on the tower cranes and that like saturday night eleven pm i'm welding the crane tied to a to a crane and you know i go to the toolbox and there's stuff missing or paperwork's missing or you know just because you're always changing utes and you're hopping the ute that some other blokes been in and it's just mate that did my head in for years and decades it just just driving me crazy i just wanted my you to be able to do everything and that's sort of where the idea come from so ten years in my head and and on the drawing board getting getting it you know to come out into life and then three years in the workshop mate fabricating changing testing trial and failing and then yeah finally got it down pat and that's the end result man so i can press a button and take the body off my ute one minute off and press a button one minute back on with another body so all my tools are always there and yeah so that's it it does mo it does anything you want the back of you can be a firefighter it could be a diesel pod can be a boom sprayer it's it's basically anything so my ute's the silver one in that you know i've got my toolboxes on there and friday afternoon i come home press a button it's off and the next one i got the camper on with three dirt bikes in the back and we're away for the weekend two minutes you change it you're changing your whole uterine and still got the comforts inside of all your bits and pieces that's.
Insane so it's still your vehicle you're just completely changing the entire back which could be anything from camping to wow that like any any type of work that you need to do exactly leisure or business and it changes over in.
Minutes yes so you know one ute you can have ten different bodies for the back of it depends on what you do if you're a farmer mate you're just you know they love all their trailers and stuff you just line the utes up the body's up in the shed and you just back up in a minute you got things on and away you go so fire season you've got a firefighter on the back.
And yeah yeah wow that's unreal mate what would for guys listening to that because i think that's man i think that's going to be a huge game changer um or already is i know you've shown me some other bits and pieces but if someone was looking to reach out to you mate cause i'd love to do a bit of a plug for that for you as well like what's the best way for them to get in touch or to find out more.
Get me via email is probably the best and that way we can you know get in contact and give you all the details you know find out what you need and we we custom make to whatever your requirements are everyone's got their own ideas how to do things so we listen and we will make it to suit whatever you want so the best best email is sales at quantumbod dot com oh.
Wow that's the engineering you mate you can make anything on the back of.
It and make anything mate so that's sort of yeah where it come from.
And yeah yeah that's epic that's awesome so sales at quantumbod dot com and quantumbod dot com is obviously the website that i was showing earlier on here which is yeah that's incredible that's awesome mate i'll have to i have to buy a ute now so i can.
Get one that's it mate the utes these days are awesome you know i mean you can do whatever you want.
That'S epic that's awesome now it's been great to have you on jason sharing your story mate good to see that you know you're charging along in the right direction we're only a few months in but killing it in family self and service that the body squared away the mind squared away great relationship with the boys i know that you and me spoke a little bit more intimately in our first chat about with the boys and yeah the grumpy dad and all the other things that you've now turned around and you're you know heading in the right direction at lightning speed too which is which is pretty awesome i'm looking forward to meeting the young men one day as well you have to bring him to one of our.
Events definitely will mate you'd love it put them through their paces in a.
Gym session yeah for sure unreal awesome mate well look thanks for jumping on any final thoughts mate as well as.
We wrap this up mate i'm just i'm looking forward to the future you know the next eight nine months in hpf and might see where this goes i'm looking i'm excited really excited yeah.
Likewise mate it's because of great men like you jason it's credit to you know to you and the other men on the inside that really makes this an environment that i love seeing you guys thrive in and it's unreal it really is but hope you boys got a lot of value out of this watching or listening to our podcast but jase thanks again for jumping on man and keep killing it i should post some screenshots of your training workouts in the in the yellow and the red zone crusher mate setting the standard thank.
You alex appreciate it mike well done.
Thank you boys for listening and watching this as well thanks guys thank you well that wraps up another episode and.
Just as we wind this down i want you to just reflect and think.
Back through some of the golden nuggets.
Some of the revelations some of the sore points some of the things that might have hit home with you and then just look at ways that you can apply a different set of actions to change your position change your circumstances change your feelings change the facts these episodes are done with your best interest at heart and there's always something we can get from that maybe it's not the first time maybe it's the second time we've had members listen to episodes four or five times and then it finally clicks but either way i hope.
You got a lot of value out.
Of this and also if this is something that you really want to solidify inside of your life repetition is the key you've listened to it write down your revelations think about them read them speak them believe in the changes that you will carve out in the action plan of those revelations to create change in your life and then share that and when you teach you learn the second time right so teaching and showing this to others you love and care about is the greatest way that you can remember and make sure you consistently learn and relearn what is it's true and what is it is important to you in your heart take care have an amazing day night weekday weekend and i'll see you for another one soon cheers.
