Al discusses how fear of loss and failure sabotage growth, introducing the Four Cs framework: Courage, Commitment, Competence, Confidence. He argues ambition acted upon beats confidence alone, and stresses building personal capacity to handle life's storms in family, health, and business.

If this is something that you're really starting to resonate with and you've racked up five, 10, 15, maybe 20 podcasts by now, I just want to ask
a small favor of you. The greatest way that we create the
greatest impact inside of this world is by reaching more people and more people really tying into the value they can offer themselves at a fundamental level. HPF stands for fathers really valuing and believing in themselves and investing in themselves so that they and their family wins. A couple of quick things. I hope you enjoy the episode ahead. It's a phenomenal one that we've just recorded for you, but essentially I'd love
for you to give us a review.
Obviously a five star review would be amazing, but whether it's itunes, Spotify, Amazon, it could be on Facebook, a Facebook review anywhere, Google, anywhere where you see this value in you giving us the approval and recognition that will spread this message.
Much respect.
Really appreciate you for doing that and also sharing this with someone who you know would get huge benefits out of listening to this as well. So enjoy the episode ahead. But if there's just one thing I could ask for 10 to 30 seconds of your life to give back. I love doing these episodes. I do these for you, member or not, and for the wider community. I'd love it if you could just give a little bit back and really promote that you support this and this is something that you would love to share with others who you know would get value out of this as well.
Welcome to another episode of Al's Insights. It's been a few minutes since the last one. Had some phenomenal guests on the last couple of months and lots happening, lots happening on Air in COSI 4.0 around the corner. What a sensational experience we have there. Over a hundred men going to the highest point in the country. Can't wait to share that with all of you. And the birth of my fourth child with the wife. I still got to get Kroon on for a podcast. It's just we're hoping maybe Monday, but in and out of hospital several times over the last month with contractions and any day now, any day. So we may have an episode, we may not. We may have one pre baby number four. We may have one after our new little princess is born. But nonetheless, gents, let's crack on into it. Look so, so many. I. I am a student for life. The. The time will come to share the tenets with you. The HPF tenets. It's. It's the code for the modern man to live a, a fulfilling and rewarding and ultra successful life. Roll it out to the community and inside forward to sharing that with you. But time is short. Hence the short and sweet Owls insights. So many one liners. So many one liners. But I've chosen four today to go through with you. And I want to start around this thing called fear. You know, none of us are fear free, but you can be fearless. So I have less fear in my life than I do have, I guess is one way to measure it. But fearless doesn't mean you're fear free, right? We all experience fear in our life, in relationships, in marriage. The number one core driver of the way men operate and how they can't break out of either a panda cycle or they're overreaching or extending or they're chasing or they're validating their wife's position at the cost of their own integrity, which means they're not having healthy conflict. All of this. All of this. There's lots of little tactical reasons, but at a fundamental level is from a fear of loss. I say this openly whilst my wife is standing over me right now with a baseball bat saying, I do not fear. Put the bat down. Put, put the bat down. I'm only joking. That's her. So she's. Boys, if this is the last episode I ever do, I want to say it's, it's been an honor. I love and appreciate you all and now. But look, seriously, I, she knows that, man. I'm like, look, I'm, I don't fear. I mean, look, I'm, I, I'm fearful of, you know, having this baby. She's gonna have cesarean. Obviously. I don't want my wife to die. I want everything to go, of course. But in terms of the relationship, dy, it's a want, don't need, it's a. Look, I'm okay with the fact that you have free will, Corinne. And if you choose to leave this relationship, that's your fucking choice. And if you believe that you found something better and that's your measurement and you have things that define better to you in your mind and you're sold on that, well, that's your fucking choice as well. Me as a stand up man, husband, father, provider and valuable member to society, providing service outside my family circle, of course I'll keep going and growing, which does tie into one of my one liners, which I'll do, I'll do second. But there's no fear of loss in the relationship dynamic and that's a big Thing, man. I need you to understand that some of you guys are absolute Vikings at work and then just fucking pandas at home. And look, being a panda is a beautiful thing, but it's got its place. It's got its own energy. You've got to be conscious and careful of how you apply it. The panda energy inherently wants to seek validation. It wants to overreach, it wants to connect. And there's nothing wrong with connecting, but there is something wrong with elevating or putting things above yourself and placing it on a pedestal when it comes to other human beings. Like, it's like we're all just fucking human beings. Your children, your wife, it's, you know, so you don't superficially place yourself above anyone as well. Like, I, I don't mind judging the fuck out of a man's actions and pushing hard and saying, hey, man, like, that's. But hard to judge you as an entity. You know, I'm not you. I never will be. As an individual. Our identity, what defines that? If it's our actions, well, then actions can change. So how. It's a moving target. But can you judge actions? Yes, but the person, no. So it's about being on the level in this life and the life we share with the humans that we love. And just to expand before I hit you with this first one liner. That's important, man. It's really, really important. Don't come up from a fear of loss. And you can really play this out. Okay. What would happen if Corinne left me? Okay, there'd be pain, you know, there'd be struggle and hardship with seeing my children. There'd be limited rights in that aspect. Maybe 50, 50, maybe it's 80, 20, who knows? Like, there's lots of things that the courts could adjust and change and depending on interpretations and whatnot. I mean, we' great relationship. There's no reason why we wouldn't. But. But yes, that could happen. I've seen that with, with men where their wives have just gone crazy and. And then there's a limited time with my children. There's some other man who could enter the life and race. So there are all these things where I play it out. It's like, ah, it's pretty fucking painful. But it's like, okay, well, what can I control today? And if that was to be, well, that's. Welcome to the game of life, mate. Like, it's. It's in for a penny, in for a pound. Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. Nothing venture, nothing gained. All that sort of shit is true. It really is. So if I look at that and the pain associated, given that I'm 40 and I've got the second half of my life, you know, God willing, I live to be at least 80. I look at that and I'm like, okay, well, would I take back every single experience I've had with my children being born, all the things like, would I trade that and not be a father at all? And the answer is, fuck no, of course not. So. So sometimes logically playing it out if you have the stomach for it is something that you could move through. But ultimately, will this kill me? Will I, Will I, you know, will I survive? And. And the best way to answer those questions is inside your heart. The ambition to always want to become more. Always wanting to become more. You know, what I do this year doesn't mean that I'm going to do the same next year. I want to be better. I want to be better. I want to keep going. I want to keep going and growing. And that, that absolutely is the number one anecdote that helps with any loss. But preceding that, the fear of loss. Irony, man. The irony is the fear of loss is what leads to the highest potential of that loss happening in the first place. Just sit on that one for a second. Your fear of loss is what? I remember having a consult years ago, man, and this bloke was so, like, he was just fretting on his wife and insecure and all sort of stuff, and to the point where sometimes he would. She would go out with their friends and he would, he would follow them and check that they're okay and he'd call her and hassle and sort of stuff and like that. That's, that's. That's obviously way fucking past the boundaries, man. That's way too much. And the irony is she needed some time to get away and have some time on her own and went away on a trip to I think maybe Canberra or somewhere with her girlfriends and went and met a. Another man and had an affair. Would she have taken that trip that she felt she so desperately needed, given this smothering of the man in the foot. Can you see that? Like me, mate, like, out of your fear of loss, you've driven her into the arms of another man. That's, that's what cuts me up, man. More than the fear of loss. It's actually. And more, More than the loss. Sorry. It's my actions contributing to that. Like, that would eat. That would eat me up. That's. That's don't ever do that. Don't ever do that, mate. And if you bought a line with that, get our marriage playbook and, and you know, get the leader, keep her lighter up. Resource. I've said that in other episodes. Like, that's a powerful one. Like just you, you gotta realign, man. Realign for yourself, realign for your children, realign for the betterment of your bloodline. Because that, that shit's no good for anyone, including your wife. Current Oryx First One there's only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve. The fear of failure. See, we are the ones who limit ourselves of the possibilities of life, not the rest of the world. We are the ones makes a dream impossible to achieve. Well, you know, my dream isn't to be able to flap my arms and have wings and fly like a fucking bird. Like being within the realm of this current reality as a human being. It's not fantasy, it's dreams. Like you all have dreams. Not fantasies, but dreams. And what makes them impossible to achieve is the fear of failure. It's us. We are the ones who limit ourselves. The majority of shortcomings in life, guess what they come from a position of acting out of fear. So it's not that you're fearful or fearless. It's the actions you take based off fear, the decisions you make based off fear, that's what'll fuck you up, man. Like I said, I'm not, you know, I'm not fear free, but my life has, is never fearful and never existent in thinking of it, but when it comes, it's, it's less so. I like to consider myself operating more often. They're not from a fearless state, from a fearless position. And it shows in the life that I live, very rarely, if ever actually I can't remember. At least for the last few years, despite the challenges with family, self and service, my health and throat issues, building this movement like anxiety, worry, fear, living the past, living the future. Depression, mate. Not at all. And if or when it enters, which is natural as a human being, which can be a chemical state, I open the door, someone knocks. And I've got a bunch of men there with fucking knives. Of course you get that feeling, oh wow, okay, cool, we're on here. But, but making decisions from a centered state, that isn't men with gun to your heads or knives about to fucking stab you. Making a decision out of fear, that's where the shortcoming comes from, man. So it's not about being fear free, it's about understanding where the Decision you're making is being driven from. Is it being driven from a place of fear? Cause if it is, mate, you'll never achieve your dreams. No fucking way. You won't be successful. Stop. It's impossible. It's literally in the consciousness of our cells. The consciousness of our cells operate from a state of either growth, so expansion or death. Contraction at every fucking level. From an atomic level, like your anatomy. From an atomic level through to the consciousness of your being through to the sense of self and the decisions you make. So whether it's your unconscious, subconscious, consciously present right here and now, I'm about to make a decision on this doesn't mean you're free of fear, but make the decision. Is it scary? That's different, man. Are you nervous? Is there uncertainty? Well, the difference between uncertainty and unknown is simply your fucking state. Yeah, the unknown is the unknown. Okay, well, let's try and make it known. Uncertainty is your lack of stability and control in the state of unknown. Making decisions from fear will always fuck you up. It will damage your relationship. It will weaken you in the position of the eyes that those you love and care about see you in. It will set very rocky ground, very shaky ground for your children. It's a low level, weak energy that is damaging. Making a decision, you're reinforcing that energy, you're reinforcing that frequency, those wavelengths, man. Be very, very careful. We are the one who limit ourselves. And then we are the ones who must live with the results of our choices. It's like, fuck. We are the ones who must live with the results of our choices. So again, whether you guys are here listening now, part of hpf, want to be part of HPF one day you've reached out. You haven't. You never will be. It doesn't matter. Even that in itself, you might experience. I'm scared, I'm uncertain. That's okay. But making a decision based off fear, fear alone, like that's the deep rooted, that's a fucking no, no, man. That's so damaging. And the mind is clever, right? The brain wants to operate efficiently and stick to its patterns that you've had. It's non discriminatory. So even if those patterns will fuck you up and keep doing so, that doesn't matter. It's the brain, the brain's the brain. But flip that script. I'm fearful of doing this. Well then. Well then weigh it up then. Okay, so what if I do? What will happen? What are all the possibilities? What if I don't? What will happen? Or what Are all the possibilities okay, which one has. Which one really carries a higher level of consequence than I really am afraid of? Am I afraid of taking the fucking step? Or am I more afraid of the regret and neglecting the possibilities of who I can become? My life, my children, my wife, my family. Like, wow. Like, mate, that's. Fuck, I know which one I'd choose. Like, I look and I say it, you know, not to be a smartest, but like people who do fuck all with their life, which is most people. Oh, mate, they got way more balls. They got way bigger balls than me. Way more courage. They just don't know it yet. Way bigger, man. Like that. So I couldn't, I couldn't. I couldn't imagine forfeiting complete control of my life under the illusion that I'm in control to live a plain, boring basic. And I said this the other day, mate, like the, the average. Average isn't, isn't. Isn't based on percentage. It's based on median men. Like, it's. If that. I hope that makes sense. Like, let's say there's 8 billion people person number. 4 billion is average. Let's say, for instance, we find the person who's most average and he's the fourth billion person. That doesn't mean four billion and one is above average. No fucking way, mate. No way. Like 7 billion, fucking 950 million would be average. And then maybe 50 million, maybe it's a bit more. That's a lot of people though. But fuck, it's probably less. They're the ones that want to be fucking exceptional. Across family, self and service. It's not about. I mean, I'm sure there's more than 50 million millionaires. Who gives a fuck? No, it's about family, self and service and driving a higher standard for yourself in what you want. And for me, like, seeing people operate that way, I'm like, mate, you got way more fucking courage than me for what's coming down, what's coming to you one day. That's crazy. But you know what? They can't see that. And they can't even see the decisions they make are based out of fear because that has just ingrained itself into their identity. It's like a fucking cancer, man. It's like a cancer. Be very, very careful. I look back on my life and I've failed so many times, mate, but I've never fucking. I've never looked back. Have I had moments? Have I reflected? Have I had pockets of. Obviously reviewing and analyzing. Oh man, I fucked that up and I filled with regret. No, I'm always more than I was. This year better than last year, next year better than this year. Like, if you're always improving, hard to have regrets. Circumstantial with family, whatnot. Of course I feel bad and the pain of cause and all that. Yeah. But you can't fucking do anything about it now. You've got to keep moving forward. These people just have it ingrained inside of their life. I've failed so many times, ma'. Am, And I've fallen back and been pushed back, but I've never actively taken a step back. And that's what creates a bit of a fucking crazy mindset that I have. Like, maybe I'm a bit fucked up, but in a good way. I'm like, ah, man, I'm never gonna lose. That's impossible. It's impossible. I'm never gonna lose. The bigger picture won't allow it, won't fucking entertain it. Refuse to acknowledge it. Completely fucking dismissive of it. And that's a powerful thing. I have hardships every single day, just like all of you men. So make no mistake, the greater you become in leadership, the more you're actually a servant, the more humility you should carry and the more that you fail. That's the most ironic. That's the craziest, funniest part about, like, whether you're up on stage and you're the big fucking man or not, famous or not, your success in your leadership, the higher you become as a leader, the more you're required to serve, the more humility you should carry. Absolutely. That's a fucking given, man. And the more you've actually failed to get there. So that's what I'm pursuing some of the saying, I'm the fucking leader of the world. I'm just saying I'm building myself as a leader every year, which means I'm here to serve more. I'm much more accepting and graceful and have gratitude and humility. And I've also failed more to get to that next step. None of that is possible coming from a fear of failure. None of it. None of it. Am I aware of failure? Do I know it exists? Ah, mate. Fucking most my life. So still here, still fucking punching. Carry that mentality, man. Carry that attitude, carry that forth. That's a powerful thing. Next one. What's more attractive than confidence? This is interesting. So whether it's relationships, business, anything, your children, yourself in the gym, anything. Confidence, right? We talk about confidence, okay? Confidence, confidence. What's more attractive than confidence? Is ambition that's acted upon. Why? Because that's true in the eye of all beholders. That's true to everyone. Everyone, Everyone, Everyone. We have the four Cs of evolution, right? Courage, that's having the fucking balls to take the right step in the right direction. Commitment. That's following through on that and taking actions on the decision you've made. Competence. That's looking at the actions required on the decisions that you've made and looking at mastery and developing them as a skill sets, as repetitions, as a track record. Confidence. That's a natural byproduct that upon reflection of the courage, the commitment and the competence, the repetitions you've taken in the track record, you carry yourself in a way of certainty and assuredness that you can perform, produce, deliver and lead in this realm, in this section, this area, in this domain of your life. That's it. Now here's the hard part. Without the other three present and at a glimpse any motherfucking fucking bout. Confidence. Look at social media, look at like Instagram, Facebook, people are all full of shit. Whether it's business related, personal development, wellbeing related, whether it's a fucking mother or father, a young dude who's fucking jacked, who says he's natty but he's full of fucking gear. Like all these people, they can, they can fake confidence. You can put up the facade in the wall. So that's what makes it challenging in the marketplace, challenging in the real world, with every other human being that doesn't intimately know the journey you've taken. What I'm saying is confidence in the way that we measure it is true and real in hpf. But confidence to the world is a falsehood. It's fabricated. It's something that is postured, which means it lacks traction and integrity, which means it is a risk, which means it may not be the truth. That's why. What's more attractive than confidence, right? Not the HPF confidence. That's the real thing, man. It's a very powerful thing and your wife will see that. Your children say it. However, even with your wife and your kids, what's more attractive than that is ambition that's acted upon. Courage, commitment. It's like think of ambition being the amplifier. Like, what. What level of courage did I have? Or what did. What was I courageous towards? I have the courage to what, set my alarm for 6 o'? Clock? It's like, well, fuck, mate, like, that's not. So what's the level of decision you've made? What's the commitment you've made, and it's not about home run hits, but it's about the big commitments. What are the big commitments that I'm making that a lot of times are simple and fundamental in nature, that I'm following through on? That's what's more attractive than confidence meant. Ambition. That's acted on because, like, this is where I'm at. Regardless of who or how you tell them, this is what I'm going to fucking do. This is what I've done and I'm doing it. Have a look at it. Hey. The amount of people in hpf coaches, myself, like, I look at my wife, I'm like, man, why. Why did you. Why did you stay with me? Surely Knox was convenient. I was using all of our fucking credit cards to pay our rent. Spent all of the money that she was bringing in. She was like a assistant principal at, like, 24 years of age. I was 26. Trying to make it in the CrossFit world. Failed footy and looking to build my gym and be an elite athlete, and didn't really fucking build a gym, but had a playground for myself and served people. We had a great little community there. But it was like, mate, fuck, I was living off her money. Wasn't paying myself anything, which is typical with a lot of business owners. Anyway, like, I. I get it, man. There's the hustle and the grind. I didn't pay myself for years. I remember the day I celebrated. I was like, oh, yes, I'm paying myself 150 bucks a week. I pay 150 bucks a week. It's crazy. What's that, like, six grand? Six grand for the year. And I was making more money working at fucking Kmart when I was 16. So I look at that, I'm like, why would she stay with me? And we never really spoken about this, but without a doubt, she always saw no matter how much I tried and tested and failed, I was a man with ambition, and I acted on it. Now, the ambition can be misplaced at times. You gotta be careful of that, right? Ambitious how? Like, I'm not ambitious in running gyms. I've got nothing against them. I think that can be great. But that's not where my ambition is anymore. It's changed. It's elevated for fucking eight years now. It's like the service of mankind through the fathers, for the children and future generations. We're talking some pretty big plays here. I want to be the killer whale in the ocean with other killer whales and building this. And it's not just not to downplay. Everyone has their journey and everyone has their trajectory. You could be a 60 year old fucking woman who's been overweight your whole life and you finally get fit and healthy and you might end up. Your goal might be to manage. Manage a small little boutique gym. By the age of 67 you've got your certification, you've become a personal trainer and you're managing a gym. You'd never be an owner but you fucking awesome. Good for you. You spent most of your life overweight and unhealthy. You've had this complete 180 and now you're a leader of managing a facility. So it's not. I'm not here to judge me. I'm just saying at the level I was at. And this is the beautiful part though because once you start acting on that ambition, this is what fear of success is, right? Which I've never experienced but I can see how it's real. Hey man, this is what you're capable of. This is what you can do now. So you better fucking keep doing it. I get that. I never understood it until not that long ago when I was talking about it with the team. What is for? I don't understand fear of success. I'm hungry as fuck. I never want stop growing. And if that's the standard that I need to uphold and now I'm exposed for how well I can perform. Good, let me fucking show you. It's a bit of a. I don't know if it's a chip on the shoulder like I've proved myself. So let me keep showing you that I can do it. I'm not a one trick pony. I'm not a one and done. But I do understand it's real. But that's a beautiful thing man, because when you're acting on your ambition, you're setting that ambition at a higher level. 1 It exposes all the areas that you need to learn that you otherwise with our. We respect our own ego and sense of self refuses to acknowledge. It's like, no, no, I'm going to show you the holes now. I thought I was a good leader a couple of years ago. Fuck me mate. I look back and I was like oh man, fuck. So fucking stupid. But I'm a slow learner, so bear with me man. But I'll tell you it's, it's, it's a beautiful thing when you're acting on your ambition. Where is your ambition, man? Has it gone? Have you lost? There's only two things that fucking Crush a man and leads to burnout and the death of the spirit and the soul of a man before he actually is buried. It's as an organism you haven't nourished and looked after yourself. That's a real thing. Like your energetic output is suffering and you're broken and falling down. But the second one, which is bigger and it's a more silent killer, is you've either lacked, forgotten or lost or don't have any purpose. Purpose is so fucking important, man. And the purpose is the glue between what is it you desire and the man you must become. And the ambition is almost like the undercurrent or the desire or I guess I would say that it's the desire and the hunger to make that purpose fucking matter. And to make that purpose that you have in your life, your purpose front and center. And to fucking act on the purpose that you hold so your identity shifts and your goals are reached. And then guess what? Off to the next fucking mountain as it should be. So, man, if you're lacking ambition, don't cut away the goals. Don't let the rest of the world tell you what to do. Like, fuck that man. Fuck them. Like, you set your standard, you set what you want in your realm and then you go get it. Don't let fear of failure hold you back. Don't dismiss the reality of fear. It's a true and real thing we all have. But don't let it fucking steer the ship, mate. If he's driving the bus, turn the off and send him to the back. And you step up and you, you handle it. But what's. I would say that though relationships, marriage, all mate, anything and everything in yourself and also to those outside of you that connect to you, what's more attractive and confidence. Absolutely. Seeing the ambitions acted upon, does that mean that people will pull away, they'll get their nose out of joint. You might create enemies, you might lose friends, of course. Why? Because you're highlighting discrepancies of what they could have, but choose not to. Who they could be but choose not to. That's not your problem, that's not your fault. That's on them. Next one. Don't be passionate about what you like doing. This ties in really well. Actually, when we talk about ambition and fear of failure. I was thinking about passion a few weeks ago. And because people have said I'm a very passionate man, like I think some I'm intimidating and look, I'm pretty direct, I'm a strong energy, but I wouldn't. I'm Not, I'm not a fearing man and like I'm not a man to be feared or I'm not intimidating. Just, just be you show you. It's one of the HPF tennis. I'm just very transparent and, and I love life like obviously but I always thought of passion is like not a good thing. Like it's like nah, it's short lived and you're passionate but yeah, it's passionate. Just something that can come and go and. But, but I think it's a beautiful thing but also I think it's misplaced in folk in where it's focused on I, I love animals, man. Like I've got the funniest quirks. Like I see chickens and they crack me up, man. They're just, they now they're females obviously hens and they're just like women. They've got their little hierarchy, they've got little fucking quirks. They fucking bitch talk about each other. I don't know that for sure. I'm sure it's true, but I don't know that for sure. I can't speak chicken, but they fucking crack me up, man. I love dogs mostly. All animals. I mean, you know, obviously I'll kill mosquitoes, there's just something about them that, that I detest. But even a fly, man, if I can open the door, just fucking get out of the house. I'd rather do that than try and squash him. But, but ultimately whilst I'm passionate about animals, nature and life, like I'm not going to become a fucking vet. I'm not going to go off into the bush and rescue injured animals. Like that's not, that's not my calling. So. And that's not what I feel called and compelled to do. That's not my skill set, it's not where I've spent my time, it's not where I've invested. You don't have that many shots in life, man. Like you don't. So be conscious of how you pigeonhole yourself whether I'm talking personally or professionally. And that's okay. There's nothing wrong with having a 50 year career either. But just be conscious of that and understand that it's not I'm passionate about my work or I'm not passionate about work. So I don't like it. Fuck that. Like it works both ways. Don't think you're in the wrong place because you're not passionate. Then so many. What I'm doing with you guys right now in this podcast, it's one of the not the greatest reading and seeing the shares and the wins of the men in hpf. Connecting with the men in hpf, connecting with the coaching team or the, you know, obviously the HPF team and organization. They're my three favorite things, man. Seeing the results of these men and shares of them, their children, their wives are seeing guys get birthday cards of their wife, saying how much they love them, how proud they are. Like that, mate, that's phenomenal. Like, I just. I love that. Then connecting with the men online, but obviously in person, like, cozy, mate. The best. Connecting with the team. Phenomenal. Really, really good. But what. What I really love is doing this podcast as well. So what? So my point is all the other things of running this as a business and leadership, and this is a mate. I'm not passionate about that. Like, it's fucking work and it's hard work and it's painful work, and it's work that has failures and trial and error and decisions and decisions that will fucking hurt. You'll win here, but you'll. There's never a decision that's 100% right. Okay? That's a decision going to be 80% positive and 13% negative. Okay, cool. The negative's now some fucking mess we got to clean up. Like, mate, It's a fucking punish. This podcast is a piece of piss. I love this. This is so easy for me. I love this so much. It's so fucking good, right? If all I sat on was being passionate about what I liked, HPF wouldn't even be here. So love the men, connecting with the tribe, the wins, the team, all that sort of stuff. Love doing the podcast here, but don't be passionate about what you like doing, because there's heaps of stuff that I don't hate doing because I see the value. So I don't have that either. Like when I'm doing all the grunt work or the work as well. So still do that doesn't matter what role you have in a company, mate, it's sweet. I value it and I know it's beneficial and I enjoy the output. Why? Because I'm not passionate about what? Doing what I like. Right. Do what you love. You'll never work a day in your life. That, that. That's misleading. It's. Don't be passionate about the shit you love doing. Be passionate about the impact you are having. That's the fucking kicker, man. Be passionate about the impact, not about the doing. Otherwise I didn't do anything. I just do fucking podcasts and events in person. But there'd be nothing. Running a business, the life force of HPF like that requires proper smarts and people and processes and systems. All the fucking back of house shit. So we can have the events and do things like Cosby and build something greater than ourselves. So don't be passionate about what you like doing, but rather be passionate about the impact you are having. Because then you can fucking do the donkey work, you can eat shit, you can get up and celebrate. Hey, this is awesome. I get to do a podcast today. Hey, this is awesome. I get to fucking fix this problem, which is a pain in the ass to me. It doesn't matter. The beauty of this, boys, is it negates the measuring and how easily you can be influenced. When you've got a mission and a purpose and you're passionate about the impact you have as opposed to measuring what's easy and what's hard. What I just said is just such a gold nugget for you men. Please understand the value of that. Whether it's your wife, your kids, your business. When you're passionate about the impact you're having, it negates the measuring of what is easy and hard. I'll look at my roster or my schedule, mate. I don't see easy and hard. I see gotta be fucking done. Gotta be done, Gotta be done, gotta be done. This podcast gotta be fucking done. Done. So when I've got really hard work, doesn't fucking matter. When I've got really easy work, doesn't fucking matter. Just on the level. I'm just passionate about the impact. So this is fucking easy for me. I could do this with my eyes closed, right? There are other things that really, really hard. Guess what? Both of them lead to the impact that we're having. The podcast is awesome and like the reach and the value and service it provides, it's mate, you know, I feel blessed and honored that you guys listen to it. You take value from it and I love that this serves you. But being passionate about the impact you have negates measuring. Otherwise I would just hate everything else I do. The podcast is all I would look forward to and can you imagine that pattern over years? I'd fucking crush the soul of a man. As opposed to going, I'm passionate about the impact, fall in love with the problem you're trying to solve. Okay, cool. I'm so passionate about the impact that we're having. So whether I've got an easy day or a hard day, heaps of meetings, no meetings, deep work, project building, cozy in person podcasts on doesn't fucking matter. And then it doesn't influence you. You love all of it. Don't be passionate about what you like doing. Rather be passionate about the impact you're having. And final one, and we'll wrap this up. Build the shelter today for tomorrow's storm. There's a little written piece I did in our community not long ago. It's so important. The risk that most men run isn't that their wife will all of a sudden leave or the house will come falling down because they're just. They lack the environmental awareness or they're just focused on money or other things or should be. Right, we'll get there. Or it's just a gamble I'm willing to take. Now, that's not the risk. The risk is the opportunity cost. What's possible? Where could I be? What could I reach? Both matter, right? Why? Because if you're proactive with the possibilities to drive. If you're proactive in making and ensuring the possibilities drive your actions. So fuck. What? What if HPF was global? What if we could do this? What if we could do that? What that does is it sets a standard for who you could become, which drives your actions today. So you can't get lost in. In dreamland because it becomes fantasy land. It doesn't help you in the now, it's just your compass. Where's my big capital N in red? Fucking bang. There's my true north. All right, sweet. What are we going to do today? What's. What matters most that I must do in the next fucking 24 hours. That's it. Go long, go short. Go long, go short. When you operate with that, though, you're doing more than is required. You're becoming more than is required of your current circumstances. So right now, wife's been in and out of hospital, tachycardia, some heart challenges, contractions with the bub. My three other kids, I've been out for like, fucking three weeks with some man flu or some shit, which is why I haven't done any podcasts. Rest of my family's got it now, except Lillian hasn't. Stella's okay. Coming good. Roman's slowly coming good. Corinne's got it at the moment. She has cesarean, so we don't want her to keep fucking coughing if she gets cut open today or tomorrow, like, you know, pretty scary. They're no joke. So, mate, like, fuck. Massive projects we're building with HPF for some. Some upgrades and stuff, we're rolling out into 2026, which is exciting. Quasi around the Corner more than double the size of last year, essentially running three events in one. So it's bigger than last year, but actually more intimate and personalized than 50 men. We now have like 110 or 115 and it's like split into three, but all together. Crazy, man. Like, I'm so stretched. So, like sickness projects, cozy. Wife about to have a baby, kids, school, drop off, pick up, health and wellbeing, physical health, looking after my body, my training, nutrition, sleep. Hey, crazy. I'm at 100 right now. I'm at 100. So I'm not, I'm not burning out. Have I consolidated a little bit? Yeah, I've done a few less posts, a few less stories, few less podcasts. Of course I've contracted and consolidated my priorities, right? But I'm handling the fucking storm. Why? And it's not that I'm going easy, but I always look to build my capacity above and beyond what is required of me at the time. So if I build my capacity, I know this will be a silly way to look at it, but if I. Let's say I built my capacity to be 120 of what would be 100 right now? Well, that means I'm actually only really operating at 80. Well, let's just say I build my capacity, but I've built so much in my skill sets, my knowledge, my growth on leadership, how we're delegating, running projects, systems and management, connecting with my wife and my kids, being sharp and smart in my training. I don't need to train fucking six days a week, two hours a day. Like, because I've done all that. I've got room to move. So I'm operating 80%, as most of you should operate between 80 to 85%. Why? Because the variables and curveballs will come. It doesn't mean that I'm slack or lazy. I rip in every fucking day. But in terms of my fully stretched at like maximum load capacity, I've got room to move. So now with all these things stacking, especially sickness, that was fucking brutal. That's one of the worst ones, actually. Although you can have problems in business and family, of course, but with the health it's knocked me last few weeks, it's still allowed me to perform. I'm still performing. Like, have I again, not responded to some people, not done as many podcasts and other things? Sure, that doesn't matter. Haven't fucking dropped the ball in the main areas that matter. That's what this one means. Gentlemen, build the shelter today for tomorrow's. Storm. If you're proactive in exploring the possibilities, who you can become, the growth you can have in your life and how you can be a greater husband, a greater father and be sharper in your skill sets and better in your leadership. Build your business a bit better, develop the team inside of you, develop a better leadership team. Look after your health and well being, not just follow fads and follow a protocol that ties into you. Be smart and disciplined with your nutrition and sleep. When and where can I what was it? Oh, it was last night. Got fucking Donut King. That is beautiful. Probably cost you 380, but yeah, donuts are pretty nice. So it's not about trying to be a saint, just being sharp and disciplined. Although that came with fasting, that was post workout, so on and so forth. Not here to justify that. I love donuts, but I love them too much to stay away from them. Last night was a nice treat for for the missus and I. I've built the shelter for the storm. I'm currently now this storm will last a while. Cozy's around the corner. Baby's about to be born. So many different curve balls with just those two, let alone making sure the kids are all good and looked after with the New Edition household. Because once it's out the tummy, you've got to keep it alive as well as the projects we're building. Christmas is around the corner. 2026 is honest. You fucking breathe. Wow. It's Easter. So this storm isn't over yet. It's going to last for two more months, but I've built the capacity. That's what I encourage you to do. Don't take risks and gambles that are unnecessary. Don't ever be complacent or stagnant or just settle. You think your life's good? Cool. Make it fucking great. You think your life's great? Make it fucking greater. You think it's the greatest? Make it fucking greater than the greatest. You don't know what that looks like. What if you did know what it looked like? Just visualize that. Sit there. What if my life could be fucking even better? What if it could be even greater? What could that possibly look like? And then explore how you can make that happen. And that's it. Build shelter today for tomorrow's storm. Because if you don't, not if men. But when that storm comes, and I'm not saying your wife's about to leave or your business will go under because of this or that contract with that big client, you've got no but life happens, man, you can't even afford. They're two very basic examples that we both know exist. There are heaps that don't. Heaps that don't, man. My firstborn, she got RSV and she was less than four weeks old. That's still pretty small in hospital with all the air tubes that are helping her breathe, all that sort of stuff. And there's nothing you can do. Just keep clearing the nose, keeping nothing viral, not bacterial. I'm like, fuck, mate, that, that. That is what led to the anxiety and fear and worry that actually led to my daughter having those as well as my marriage falling apart. Which means my daughter then has this fear of loss and abandonment. She still has it at a tiny bit. I know she does. It's just little. I know she's a firstborn, but just little subtleties compared to the other two of neediness and whatnot. It's like, holy fuck, mate. Like it's. Mate wasn't prepared for that. Some storms will come and you're not prepared like the storms that are a first, like my child. But right now, if you're listening to this, you're a father, you're well in the fucking groove. Whether you're late 20s, 30s or 40s, or early 50s, like you're well in the groove of life, you're not, you know, none of you should see yourselves as fucking novice or amateurs, despite the upbringing you had, or not knowing fucking love languages or anything else. There's always something we can learn. But you are somewhat steeled in some aspects of life, right? Or in some way across all aspects of life. You have the foresight and awareness to build shelters today for tomorrow's storm. It's just a choice and a level of comfort and complacency. The only time that I've been fucked up in my life like proper, is when I've been complacent and it's only been a few times and only for a short period of time. I can't believe how much it threw me, man. I cannot believe how much it got me me. How much it burnt me. Just those core handful of times. I've been complacent, man. I've been burnt so badly. Oh, mate, I tell you. Crazy. Anyway, this is getting quite long. MEN al's INSIGHTS Hope this serves you well. There's only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve. That fear of failure. Don't act. Know that it exists, but don't act. Don't make decisions based off the fear. Don't make Decisions based off your fear and your fear of failure, your fear of failing. What's more attractive than confidence is ambition that's acted upon 1000% man. It's real. It's 10 tangible. No one can deny it. It's a track record. It's yours. You own it. You're the fucking man. You're the leader. And you're the one, right that drives you. And that becomes a perpetual motion for yourself and your own inner, quote, unquote, confidence to keep acting on the ambition that you have. Don't be passionate about what you like doing. Be passionate about the impact you're having when you do that. Then everything is on the level. Good or bad, it's all on the level. And that puts you in a standard state of flow to focus, perform, and fucking produce what's required. And then that allows you to grow, funnily enough, and build shelter. Today for tomorrow's storm, we have plenty of pockets of rest. Rejuvenation. I'll have that after Cozy. When the baby's born, I'm definitely gonna have a bit of downtime and whatnot. But ultimately, when you're in production mode, go produce and build and build yourself, build your family, build your relationship, build your business, build your body for the storm that will come in any or all of those areas. Because when it comes, you've still got capacity to keep producing. And you'll be able to weather the storm without coming out the other side too damaged, too hurt or harmful effects. To those you love and care about, hope this serves you all. Men go forth and hunt. Only two things we do in life. Two things that we have. Those that we're hunting for and those that we're hunting with. It's been a fucking honor to hunt with you. Let's keep going. Cheers, man. I'll see you on the next one. Well, that wraps up another episode.
And just as we wind this down,
I want you to just reflect and
think back through some of the golden nuggets, some of the revelations, some of the sore points, some of the things that might have hit home with you.
And then just look at ways that
you can apply a different set of actions to change your position, change your circumstances, change your feelings, and change the facts. These episodes are done with your best interest at heart. And there's always something we can get from that. Maybe it's not the first time, maybe it's the second time. We've had members listen to episodes four or five times and then it finally clicks.
But either way, I hope you got a lot of value out of this.
And also if this is something that you really want to solidify inside of your life, repetition is the key. You've listened to it. Write down your revelations, think about them, read them, speak them, Believe in the changes that you will carve out in the action plan of those revelations to create change in your life, and then share that. And when you teach, you learn the second time, right? So teaching and showing this to others you love and care about is the greatest way that you can remember and make sure you can consistently learn and relearn what is it's true and what is it is important to you in your heart.
Take care.
Have an amazing day, night, weekday weekend, and I'll see you for another one soon.
Cheers.
