Really stubborn. Going all the way again here. And Leonard's kicked him out. Oh, this is incredible. This is quite incredible. Truly a glory, glory day for Tottenham Hotzma.
Hi, guys, I'm Andrey Villas Boas, listening.
To Echoes of Glory. And don't forget, whatever happens, the future is bright.
Future's lily white.
Come on your Spurs.
Hello and welcome to Echoes of Glory. I'm Asd.
And I'm Jack.
Sorry it's been delayed by a week. I was in Morocco last week. I tell you what, they are very, very proud football in nation. We were there for when PSG were playing Arsenal and Hakimi scored. They were very happy about that. But they've got like AFCON or the Africa cup of Nations. They've got the World cup in 2030 as well. So they're all preparing for football. They're. They're very proud footballing nation. I totally forgot before I went there. They got to the semi finals of the last World cup, didn't. Yeah, yeah, they're very proud, very proud of that.
We haven't had that many Moroccan players, have we? Tarap is the only one immediately that I think so springs to mind.
She prepared me. Yeah. I can't think of anyone else.
Take him.
I'll take any player in our team at the moment we're here, we've got another loss, but then we've also got a European cup final to look forward to. What? You want to talk?
I mean, I think we can. We can probably gloss over Friday night against Filler, because that was inevitable, really. It was just a. We were just waiting for the goals to go in, really, weren't we? Like, that was what it was. The. The positive was there were some real good glimpses from sun, which did make me go, okay, he is like, is he going to be able to offer something in the final source he's had his injury, isn't he, recently? So it was good to see him get a decent amount of time under his belt and he looked good. The final shot, the final ball knock. But like, it sounds silly, like he was running with the ball, which I feel like we just don't. You just don't see him doing that much anymore. So that, that was in. That was encouraging. But yeah, it's all. I mean, it's all about Wednesday in it.
I am so furious at how he is normalized. Not just expecting to lose, but losing. Yeah. Like, there seems to be no fight from him to not lose. There seems to be no disgrace that we've lost. I was just looking at the stats, since the 1st of December 2024, when we played Fulham and we drew 11 to Fulham at home, we've won five games of those came in a row in February, Brenford, Man United, Ipswich away. And then we've beaten Southampton twice in that period. So in that period, since the 1st of December, we're in May now. We have beaten Ipswich, Southampton, Southampton and then Brentford and Man United. So two of the worst teams ever to come into the Premier League. And then Man United, who are awful, and Brentford and we beat them two nil away somehow. And then we've lost 20 games or we've lost or drawn 20 games, but lost the majority of them. I. I'm so angry that it's just seems acceptable and I don't understand why we're here. I don't understand why he's still here. He got rid of Mourinho for worse. He got rid of Conte for worse. He got rid of Nuno for not worse. Sorry, I. And I would take any three of those to be at the helm on Wednesday. I would take him being fired now and then any of those three taking over. I take Mourinho to come, come in and do something with this squad on Wednesday. I'm disgusted. And we talk about this a lot, about why we support Spurs. You're from the area, give or take generations of spurs supporters. My dad was the first support spurs supporter, first football fan in his family. I supported spurs because of my dad. And we talk about. There's just something about football, there's just something about teams. I could never be a Chelsea fan. I remember telling Emma early in the days, if she came from an Arsenal family, I probably wouldn't have found her attractive. Yeah, because. Because the values of what it means to support those clubs and what you ignore. One of my. My mates is a. A penis doctor. He's a surgeon who specializes in neurology. He loves Chelsea and he loves John Terry. I would. I could never ever love John Terry for what he's done. And that's fine. I'm. I love the man, my mate.
That's just not. Sounds a lot bit of a dick.
He loves a dick and he loves John Terry. But for me, what spurs represents is not what we're seeing now and it's almost the opposite. It's just. It's pathetic. There's no echo of glory of what we're doing and I. The excuse that, oh, he's just a nice guy and they're just going to give him to the End of the season. Why? Why? We're 17th in the league. We're set. We're 17th in the league.
We are going to finish 17th this season.
Like, we're going to finish 17th. Like we're Tottenham Hotspur.
Yeah, yeah, we like. We are. Because there isn't. Like, we're, we're losing to Brighton. Like, there's no, there's no doubt. My mom. We're going to lose to Brighton. So it's like we're 17th even if we like, yeah, that is where we're going to finish and it's, it's staggering, but that is where we are. It's all on Wednesday night. Wednesday night is the one where.
The.
Season, the season can be. I don't want to, I don't want to say saved, but it's like the season can be ignored because it will just be the year we won the Europa. So what. I mean, so it will be.
I don't even think it'll be forgotten. I. It can't be ignored. It cannot be ignored that we would be if we win the Europa League, that we had the worst season in living memory. Like, people joke about how bad the 90s, where they go out. The 90s were bad when they, they. This is worse than anything that happened in the 90s. Think about that. Yeah. Did Jamie Rednut get into this team? I'm not sure about that. And that's the thing that's confusing me as well is this isn't a bad bunch of players. Like, There's a decent 11 in there. I, for me, it all comes back to the midfield. I, I just don't know what's going on midfield. And the thing that's connecting everything, the heart of it, it just, it just hasn't worked. And he, he doesn't know what he's doing with the three areas, the defense, the midfield and the attack. He doesn't know how to make them work together. They just. Every time I watch them, they look separate entities. They don't talk to each other. I. It's driving me insane watching it just.
It's all just a very poorly coached, poorly executed. Like there isn't anything good about spurs this season. There's nothing. Yeah, there's nothing that's good about it. But look, Wednesday night, doing.
What is he doing though? It.
It's. I don't really know what to say, to be honest. There's. He's. He's kept his job because he's progressed in the Europa League. That, like that, that's, that's. That's the only reason.
100.
That's.
That.
That's the only reason, you know. And if he ends up winning it on Wednesday night, absolutely fair play to Ange for doing it. It's still got to go. But if he does it, you know, he will be the guy that's come and delivered the trophy. Do you know what I mean? Like, it's. The whole thing is just absolutely nuts. But it is possible to be a winning manager and also be a bad one. Like that is. Like, that is possible. The last guy that won silver with us, Wonder Amos, he was terrible for us.
Yeah, yeah.
You know, and there are far, far worse managers than. And out there that have won stuff. So it's like, it can happen. I mean, Roberto Di Matao won the Champions League, you know, so, like, can.
Happen, though, is it?
Yeah, exactly. It can.
It. It.
It can happen. But look, let's just try and enjoy the fact that we're in a European final. Oh, it's massive, you know, like, these, these moments don't come around too often at all. And it's a unique position. And, you know, if. If you had to pick another team from the Premier League to be playing in the final, like, United would be up there, wouldn't they? Like of teams to be playing. So, apart from the sides that have gone down, like, you know, there aren't many sides that I'd be like, I'd rather play them than. Than this current United team. It's just whether or not we can get over that hurdle of actually having to win a final.
Imagine I said to you a couple of years ago, we are going to be 17th in the league, but in a Europa League final. And the team that we would choose in the Premier League, out of all of them, apart from the three going, would be Man United. Yeah. Not West Ham.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You just think, like, what. What's happened? Like, what has happened there?
You know what I've done, I've done my research and I'm going to list some stuff off you, and I've gone through every single Europa league team, all 36 of them, and had a look at where they are now. Because there's loads of this, all this plus, isn't there? About, oh, they shouldn't give a Champions League space to the team that finishes 17th. That's the rules. We were. If they win a European trophy, they get into the Champions League. There always been that rule. Yeah. But I've had a look at where every other team were, so I've gone the order. It's in is in the way. They finished the league. So Lazio won the league. They're fifth in Serie A, Bill B fourth in La Liga. Man United and Tottenham came third and fourth, 16th, 17th. Frankfurt, who we played, are currently third in the Bundesliga. Leon sixth, Olympiacos first, Rangers second. Bodo are eighth. But they're only nine games in. You just go down the only. Everyone's in the top five pretty much apart from Ra Sa with 12th and Hoffenheim who are 15th. Everyone else, Carabag, Kiev, Slavia, Prague, they're all first. Union St. G, they're all first. I know they're in the Belgian League and if they're in the Premier League, it'd be a different story. But it's relatively speaking.
But like, I don't know if it's just a really simple thing to say but like the Europa League and the Conference League, they're the second and the third rate European tournaments. So those teams are probably going to be mid table most of the time. Just. Do you know what I mean? That's sort of your level. I know we're obviously below that, but like that's sort of where you'd expect sides to be. I mean the Premier League this year is just. It is also a really weird league. Like if you look at it like there's gonna be some decent teams, like someone that's done really well this season is going to end up finishing like 8th. Do I mean like it's just a bit of a funny. A bit of a funny season. But like we all know the reason why all of this uproar about getting a Champions League space and all. We know why that. That's now all of a sudden the thing is because it involves spurs, like, because it was venga. It was finger, wasn't it? That started all of it a couple of weeks ago. But it's like where'd you draw the line then? Like Crystal palace have just got into the Europa League from winning the FA Cup. Like they're what, 13th? So it's like. But they're the rules and it's a good tradition I think anyway, for teams to be able to qualify for winning something like that's a good thing.
Yeah, that's not in doubt and that's fine. I was listening to the Rio Ferdinand podcast, the one he did with Ronaldo like a year ago. It's a really good episode and I'm not Ronaldo's biggest fan, but they were talking about Man United and like. Because 10 Hog won the FA cup, didn't with them, didn't he? And they were saying how, you know, that's amazing, but they shouldn't be thinking about that. And Ronaldo said they, their standard should be Champions League, Premier League or Europa League. Like that's the level. So Ronaldo's putting those three up there. And so maybe we are underestimating it slightly. Like it's a massive, massive, massive deal. And also we've been saying for years like, you know, we should be people who say that we should be in the Champions League, we shouldn't be in the Europa League. We need to win it. We need to show that we can win it first. Yeah. And we're going to show that we can possibly win it. I think we will win it. You know, I think we're going to win it 2 nil.
I, I don't, I don't want to be negative. I, I could see us losing, but being the better team, maybe, you know.
I see that saying the word say sorry for interrupting. Man United fans are saying the same thing though. Man United fans are saying they've got injuries, they, they can't score goals. Man United's goal difference is minus 12.
The only, the only thing that worries me, the biggest thing, sorry, that worries me about Wednesday is that we've shown over the last two years we cannot win if we don't play well. Like we, this, this team and an they can't win and be poor. Like all the games we've won, all we've been the better teaming there's been. There's no game. If you look back that we've won and it was like core, we got battered there, we dug in, we held on and we scored. But this Man United team can win and be poor and they've only got to have, I think for United to win, they only need to play well for 20 minutes. They could score a couple of goals in that time. For spurs to play well. Sorry, for spurs to win, I think we have to play well for 75, 80 minutes. And that's what worries me. That in finals it's moments and what Man United do have a moment's players. Do you know what I mean? Bruno Fernandes can make something happen from out of nowhere. Casemiro has been there and done it. He can pop up with something. And I just look at that and think most finals are quite cagey and it is. A player does something magical. Have we got the players that can do that? That's my only, that's my only thing about a final.
Did you see the rumor that Ange is considering starting Poro at 10 just to chuck something in the mix. If he does that, I'm switching it off. I will go, I'm telling you now, I will switch it off. If he puts Poirot in the middle, I, I will, I will kill some something. I'll have to go outside and find a cat. I, I, I cannot deal with that idea.
That would be, that would just be. But, but I'm just playing devil's advocate here. Would that not be him adapting to what's in front of him and going, I've got a problem there. I can address it. We'll change how we play. I'll put someone else in there.
That is the, the five year old's equivalent of going, fine, I'll do it then I'll change. I'm gonna, I'm gonna put Kevin Danto up front.
That would make more sense. Dance own Solanke. Stick it long. That would make more sense.
I'm really looking forward to Solanke having a decent team behind him. I think he's a really, really decent striker, you know. And in a world where there's, there's not actually that many strikers out there, let alone good ones, I think he's a real bright star.
Did you see good player.
Really, really, really good player. Do you see the awards?
Yeah. And I was really happy for Bergfrou.
He won all three, didn't he? He won young players like one Hotspur member and another player of the season. And son got the goal for the cross that went in as well. But Bergwell superstar, because it was always the worry, wasn't it? Could he step up? Could he do it? Yeah. What a job he's done. And he's, he's missed when he's not in the team now.
Yeah, 100 and it's just a killer in it to have lost Madison Kulasevski and Bergval. Like it's a, the three you wouldn't.
Want to last lose. Really?
Yeah, it's just, it's just we have been desperately unlucky with the injuries and that. It just, we've basically gone position by position with injuries all season. It's just, it's not something like goalkeeper, center offs, fullbacks. Now you're attacking midfielders are all gone. Like it's just staggering. Absolutely staggering.
What's your lineup then? What are you doing?
I, I think it near enough picks itself because he's a bit restricted. So keeper back four. I think Spencer's on the bench for me.
Doggy Van de Ven Romero, Poro.
It's definitely Bentoncourt and sa. It doesn't really have many other options other than to play Benton, Corsar and Bissuma, but I just don't want Bissuma. I just don't want him in there. But I think that he probably will go with that. And then it's what, Solanke, Slanky, It'll.
Be Johnson, Johnson or the Bear or Tell. It might be all the Bells, where's being decent, but I think they'll come off the bench.
Yeah, I think. I think so. I think so. The only one. The only one that sun might not start and he might go with, tell me just because of. Purely because of fitness. And he might look at that and go, I'll have sun after an hour. So I think it. It pretty much picks itself because not really much else he can do. He's not gonna bring Richarlison in for, you know, Cooler's episode, whatever, and play a second forward. He's not going to do that. Richarlison could start on the wing because he's played him there a little bit recently. There's just not a huge amount of creativity in the midfield. That is the. That's the issue, isn't it? Like Benton called Bisuma Sar. Sar's got a goal in him if he's unleashed a little bit and he can, you know, getting to get himself in the box. But there's not a lot in there where you go, cool, if we have the ball, can we make? So there's not. There's not a lot of progress, is there, in that. In that lineup. There's. You've got three sort of like good midfielders in what they do, but they're not going to thread the ball through. The eye of the needle is. They're not a type of player. And you look at the. The free forwards, whoever they are, they're very much players that are relying on service. So I think it's a difficult, difficult one. The absolutely mad bold thing he could do is he could sling like Mikey Mooring. I don't think he will. I don't think he should, but he could do that and just go, you know what? You've got an hour. I'm just gonna play you in. In the middle, like, go for it. But I don't think you will. I think it will be Basuma Bentonville.
Yeah. Yeah, I think. I think you're right. God, it's light, isn't it? I'm excited.
Not a lot. There's not a Lot in there. That's what I was saying earlier, that I think that that first goal in this game is just so, so, so big. Because for us to go down in a final with not a lot of creativity in the side and find a way to come back and win.
I.
Think that's just asking a lot.
It's going to be a set piece. It's either going to be Romero or it's going to be Maguire. Yeah, that's my prediction.
First goal, you can see it. Or Casamiro. How many big games Casamiro played in. And he gets on the end of a cor. Like he's just one of those guys. That's what I mean. Moments player. So look, it could go away. But if both teams play to their potential, Tottenham win.
I think we're gonna do it.
You know, we've got. We've got a better. We've got better individuals and we're a better team. But it's never as simple as that, is it?
Nope.
So let's just wait and see what happens. But it's great to be part of a final.
Yeah, it certainly is. It'll be great for those going out. Great stadium. It's going to be a great occasion. It's been a great occasion all around. Like the FA cup yesterday was such a great occasion. Right. How good did that feel for Palace? Get Etsy. Break the bank for Etsy. Give him whatever they want for him. I'd love to see him, I suppose, you having him.
I think Jose is a great player. I really like watching him. See him live against us the other week and he tourists to pieces. He's a good player. Maybe slightly controversially. If we've got everyone fit and foreign and you've got Madison, Kulasevsky, Bergval. I. I don't know if you need him really, if I'm totally honest with you. But he would never come to spurs in a million years. Like there's just. Do you know what I mean? Why would he come. Why would he come to Spurs?
Yeah. Especially as he's an Arsenal boy as well. Right. And it's not like we'll be the only person in for him. And why would he go down the league? So, yeah, I get it. It's been great, isn't it? Newcastle winning the cup. Bologna winning the first club in there 50 years. Beating Milan in the final a couple of weeks ago. It's our time.
Do you know what? It just sort of shows you that the underdogs can win Newcastle.
We're not the underdogs. Either.
Do you know? I mean we're not. We're not. We're not aside in the last 30 years that wins. We're not. And Newcastle have done it this year. Palace have just done it. So it just gives you that bit of inspiration that you. That it can't. You can do it. Do you know what I mean? You can't. We're the underdogs because it's Tottenham versus Man United. That's what makes us the underdog.
How mad is this? We've beaten them three times a season. Once in a cup as well.
And like like battered them as well.
Batter them. We're going to win. I'm excited now. You've made me excited. We're going to win.
We are like. We are a better side than them. But you know it doesn't always translate as that. How many time. How many times in big games have you seen us be the better side and lose?
Yeah. I mean. But we went away to their place and beat them three nil. Yeah.
We also. We also lost the home to Ipswich. Is that anything? Can we won 44 nil at City German and then lost 21 home to Leicester.
So it's like I've got that in front of me like that. 4 nil is the craziest result. Isn't it?
That does. That does not feel like that was this season. That feels like that was a Pochettino era. Like year years and years and years ago.
That sounds like.
Doesn't it?
Yeah. Yeah. Oh. I'm just looking down the list of results now. Just some. So many painful results. The Chelsea 4 3. Should have been 4. It was 4 2. Really. And then we scored in the 96th minute. That was quite painful. 63 against Liverpool and then 51 versus Liverpool. That's pretty shocking.
Yeah.
Would you. Bye. I was just looking back through the. How many of the the teams can you name who we've played in the Europa League?
Oh my God. What? This season?
Yes. It's actually quite difficult.
I'm gonna really struggle in the groups though. We work my way back. So. Bodo. Glenn.
Yeah.
Frankfurt.
Frankfurt.
Altmar.
Yeah.
Twice.
And we played them. Yeah.
Who else did we have in the Galatasarai?
Yeah. Lost that one. 3 2. Actually got sent off in that one.
Yeah. That's right. Roma.
Roma. Drew.
There's a lot that eats us in the last minute. Didn't they?
Scotland.
Oh it Rangers.
Yeah.
There was. Wasn't there a team that their name is similar to Fenerbachi. But it's not Fenerbachi.
Farah Baron. Chubby.
Yeah.
French Varros.
Yep, very good.
Apparently second in the Nemzati badge. Nov. Skag one. Mate, you've done amazingly.
I'm struggling.
Other than that, Hoffenheim, Elsborg and Quarabag, who we all beat. We. We scored three goals against all three of those. It's such a weird feeling, isn't it? It's. I'm. I'm furious and excited.
You've got to be excited because you cut final. Do you know what I mean? You have to. You have.
You have to be.
Exactly.
Oh God. Like, can you imagine seeing Sunny left a trophy in a couple of days time?
It'd be amazing, wouldn't it.
Jack? And they'll fight. I know they'll keep him until the. The last game or jerk. And they'd fire him after the final like that that night.
No, I. I think that he'll. The season will. Will end and then it will be. He's left a mutual mutual agreement.
Yeah. Yeah.
I think that's. It's going to be that whatever happens. Because it's like if he does win it, then it's sort of like he deserves the moment of the Brighton game. Do you know what I mean?
Show the trophy.
Yeah, he deserves that. He deserves that. But then it's like actually if we lose, would they just been him to that that game isn't toxic and you know what I mean?
So say we win and we look back in a couple years. What do you think you're thinking about him?
All I'm thinking about is the same way that I think about Ramos delivered the trophy.
That's it.
That's what he did.
That's what he said, how he managed.
That's what he did. And that's what we've all craved for years. So if he does it, you'll look back on it and go, you gave. You gave us a brilliant day, a final and a memory that we've won. Like that. That will be. That will be his legacy. Like that will be. Because that's what Honda Ramos is. You don't. You don't think back. Everything else drawing Neil nil. I'm. And losing 2, 3 nil at Middlesbrough, whatever it was on the opening day, you don't think about. You just think, oh, the woodcut goal. Yeah, you do, didn't you?
Bouncing off it. Yeah, I remember exactly where I was. Exactly where I was. All right then, let's do this thing you sent me the. What's it on Immaculate footy dot com. So Free. Every week they do a hot spun. Every day they do a tic tac toe. Naughts and crosses where we've all seen it on socials. Across the top they'll do a team and then down the side they'll do a team. And whether to cross you have to. You have to name a player. So we're going to do it together because you'll beat me and I'm. I'm not.
These are hard though because like I think we've got good spurs knowledge, but it's all clubs and it's like all nationalities. So it's like. It is quite a tricky one.
Right, so we've got Tottenham, South America and Wales at the top purely by chance. And then we've got Norwich Newcastle Charlton down the side. So Tottenham Norwich obviously. Madison. Anyone else we can think of?
Oliver Skip.
I don't.
I don't know if. I don't know in this if loans count or not.
Putting Kane in. Yes, it does. 35 of people chose that.
Did they?
Yeah.
Tottenham and Newcastle. Bass on songs are shot less Ferdinand or Steve Carr.
I say 1% of people chose Bass on.
So good day.
Good job of the game.
Good shot.
Let me put Les Ferdinand in and.
I'll see what percentage of people. 10 for Sir Les. Oliver Skip was 7% and then Tottenham and Charlton. Darren Bent's the. The obvious.
Oh yeah, that's the.
Is the obvious one. Scott Parker.
Oh, that's a good one.
Scotty Parker was one. He was great at Charlton. Scotty Parker golf scoring midfielder.
We do.
Should we go Scott Parker.
Yeah, yeah, that's a good one.
27 Scott Barker.
Norwich South America.
See, this is where it just is like Brazilian Argentinian.
That. What about that Buendia who?
Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He went to Villa. Yeah, that's right.
He's argent somewhere. I'm gonna try him.
Yeah.
When Dia. Come on.
Yeah. Popular one that.
Take that Norwich and Wales. I did. I'm going Bellamy. Yep. Right. Newcastle South America. What's. What's the guy who came back from.
Cancer is he got color Cheney as well.
That when he scored and took his shirt off.
Yeah.
That was amazing. That was a moment.
What percentage was Gutierrez there?
I can't spell it. Gutierre. Was it Jonas Gutierrez?
Yeah.
7%.
Yeah. Colicini was 10.
That's going Newcastle and Wales. Yeah.
Not any other obscure.
It must have been like 90s.
I'm gonna Google gives you the answers this game at the end. It gives you links at every player that could have fallen into the Box and you can click and then see who they are.
Oh, there's not many, mate. Craig Bellamy was Newcastle in Wales, obviously. Gary Speed and then you're into old people. Black and white. Paul done it.
Oh, yeah. That would have been the shout. Terrible player.
Bought anything. But no. So not a proper one. Carlton and South. I'm not even going to attempt Charlton. I don't know.
South America is just like. I just can't name that many Charlton players.
No.
Just trying to think of the Alan Kirby Charlton team. But no, no, I might be that same view and just. Yeah, we'll just spin that one off.
I can't think of any Charlton and Welsh players either.
I've got no idea. So I've just clicked on the, like, give me the answers button. And there is one that I think you might be annoyed at not getting. It's not easy. Is little bald fella, big beard, like attacking midfielder Joe Ledley.
Oh, no, dude. Little Johnny Williams.
Yes. Come on, Williams.
Where is he now? Oh, he must have retired. They retired? Yeah. Oh, Simon Church was there as well.
It's a good game, that, though. Anyone that wants to test out their football knowledge. Immaculate football.
Excellent. Where's Chris Gunter? Over there.
What a chalon.
Yeah. Let me. Let me. Let me test it.
Not sure.
He was a Charlton, you know, and he. Yeah, yeah, There you go. He's retired. He's 35. He's. He's a lot younger than me. Retired two years ago. There we go. Tottenham. Tottenham Osper. European Cup Final.
Here we go.
But it killed for this. So, so many reasons in so many seasons. I feel slightly deflated.
I think it's just because of what you said. Like, you're not going into it. Normally when you get to a final, you're going into it because you had. You've hit form. Do you know what I mean? You're playing well when you're winning and you're thinking, here we go. But, like, we're in that really strange situation where we're going into a final and, like, we're the worst. We've been consistently. Look, we just consistently get B. So that's why it feels a little bit odd because.
Is Man United in the same position as us, Utter rubbish and injury prone and can't score or they're in the same position as us. Would you take Amarin at Spurs?
I don't know if I would, to be honest. I've not been very impressed with him at all. And then I see this week that he's got a worse win. Percentage than what Paul Jaw had at Derby. Yeah. So it's like that. That's alarming, like. Yeah, like he's. United would have had a better season unless they win the Europa League. But, you know, I would have had a better season if I'd have kept 10 hag. How mad does that sound? Yeah, like, you look at that now and you go, actually, 10 Hog wasn't doing that bad really. He had them, what, like mid table, like. Which is still shocking for their standards. But actually, maybe it wasn't quite as bad as what we all thought.
No, Man United are in. In the. Like. Have you seen the Sunday Times Rich list came out last Sunday and their owner, what's his name, what's his face? The guy runs in Ratcliffe. Yeah. He lost 7 billion of his wealth. Like, he. He's down dramatically. He was. He was always in the top three or four. And he's gone way down now, so. And they are properly having to penny pinch. He went on the Ferdinand podcast again and talked about how they would have run out of cash. They would have gone bankrupt by Christmas if they hadn't done some of the stuff they'd done. And they're not sending anyone out there. Spurs are given a ticket to every member of staff to let them go out there. Man United haven't. They've let them. They're giving them a ticket to watch at the ground. The Man United are in a really, really bad place. And I'm not sure it's because we're sort of. That we're oversaturated with X Men United players. And so that's all they talk about. How bad was Michael Richards yesterday as well, by the way? I'm not his biggest fan.
He was so biased on the commentary, if I'm honest. I was at a wedding yesterday, so. Didn't like. It was like just keeping up to date with the score. But it doesn't surprise me if he was.
That he was so biased. I couldn't actually believe how biased he was. But whatever, mate. Cheeky Thursday podcast. If we're. If we.
Absolutely. It has to be we. We've never done one after us winning a trophy. It's like we've.
We've never had 14 years. This is well over a third of my life. Of third of our lives doing this one day and three in our lives. That includes school, being born, everything we've been podcasting. We've never had anything to shout about, apart from getting to a final and not losing at home for a whole season.
It's mad like to. Actually, the only emergency podcast we've done over the years have been when a manager's been sacked.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know what I mean? That's been it. So it would be quite bloody great to be able to be recording again and be like champions of Europe. We know what we are.
You imagine? Can you imagine that? The presentation. What are they gonna. They must do an open Friday.
Friday. It's gonna be.
Oh, is it? Yeah, on Friday.
I think I saw something on Twitter that said that they've. There's some plat. They've notified residents I'm in London Friday.
I might. I might have to be sick and go, I've got someone leaving my team. But he wants to go Nando's for lunch. But I might sack him off.
Yeah, take him to chicken. There you go. He gets his food and he's a massive Liverpool fan.
It's quite boring. Right then. All right, mate. Well, even if we don't win, next podcast is going to be the end.
Of season awards season one. Yeah. Which is always a good one, to be fair, isn't it? Like, sort of like mainly because this year's one. We won't be spending too much time looking back at the season. But it's. It's just fun, isn't it? Do you know what I mean? Just like, just reflecting and. Yeah, exactly.
Hey, this might be the first season where every award goes to think so. Goes to players that don't play for Spurs. God of the season, Declan Rice's second free kick. You know, it's just like this match of the season Barca versus Interview.
Yeah. The goal of the season will be if we win. If we win on Wednesday, basically. Wednesday is the. Is going to be all the awards. Genuinely. If, if, if, if we win on Wednesday and someone pulls out a performance, they're the player of the season.
Well, then, let's give some predictions. Vicario is gonna have a worldy.
Yeah. And he's not gonna play short passes.
No. Romero's going to score. Johnson's going to score. There are two goal scorers. Son is going to lift the cup for Tottenham Hotspur. Basuma. It's gonna have the game of his life.
Yeah. Yeah, but yeah, yeah, that like all, all of these things have to happen. And Poro is going to defend the back post.
Someone's gonna get injured. Van der Ven's gonna get. He's gonna get too excited, he's gonna run too fast and he's gonna go 20 minutes in. Yeah.
15 minutes in his hammy goes and he turns to Ben Davis.
No, no, no, no. Reggillon comes off the bench.
You know what I actually thought Regular done all right the other night, like considering it was, it's the, the build up, they were like Sergio regular makes his first, first start for over three and a half years. And it was like we've had him for a long time. The thing that made me laugh the most was on Twitter when they released the team news is that his picture was different to everybody else's. Wasn't even on the pre season photo shoot because they were like, you'll be gone.
Have you seen the bird bells in the photo shoot for the Europa League photos? Rumors.
Yeah, but you get, don't you in Europe or in the European funnel, you get a massive match day squad, don't you? So everyone can be on the bench. So it's like even players that are injured, let's put on the bench. And if you do win it, they'll get a medal, wouldn't they?
Yeah, yeah. If you want to take a cheeky little loan recall for Mana Solomon, get him on the bench. He's done well at Leeds.
He has done well. He has done well. That'd be good. Driving the price up.
Yeah, for sure, for sure. Right. I'm actually quite excited because whatever happens, the next podcast is going to be great and then we don't get to talk about the season for a good couple of months. All right, mate, as ever, thank you. And don't forget, if you just bright, the future's lily white. Come on, you Spurs.
I always thought there was very, very many people interested in football. And I always thought that football was.
A very important, important game.
But I never realized until today just how important it is. Whether the wonder boys of Pieteart Lane are or are not the team of the century can't possibly be more than a matter of opinion. Well, they're the finest team in Great Britain. One of the best in the world.
We are about the glory of the game. We are about playing with style. We are Tottenham Hotspur. The curve of the ball, the billow of the net, the beating of the trap and the picking of the lock. The swiftness of thought, the lightness of touch. We are Ginele Greaves Klinsman. We are the collective gasp, the intake of breath, the flick, the trick, the 30 yard free kick. We are Hoddle, Mabbit and King. We are the lob, the chip, the dummy and the volley. We are the hat trick, the scissor kick. We are Bill Nick.
That is schoolboy's own stuff.
We are the outside of the boot, the inside of the net. And those seconds that last forever.
Vandervar to level it up. Rafael van der 2, 2. It's quite a game, isn't it always?
We are Jennings, Defoe and Perryman. Glory past, glory future. What was, what is, what's next? We are Blanchflower, Ardelis and baal. We are about winning with a flourish. We are about winning with style. We are about the glory of the game. Daring to try, daring to risk, daring to dream. To dare is to do.
Fantastic season. It's all over. One he really stubborn. Going all the way again here. And LE has kicked him out. Oh, this is incredible. This is quite incredible. Truly a glory, glory day for Tottenham Hotspur.
