This is a YouTube video titled "Do NOT Make This Mistake in Your MBA Essay" containing a monologue or talk recorded in April 2025. The speaker advises on how to effectively get feedback on MBA essays, cautioning against incorporating too many conflicting opinions and recommending selective, critical feedback from trusted individuals such as alumni or current students.
I am all for getting feedback on your MBA essays, but you've got to be really careful when you do that, because if you end up sending your essays to tons of people, everyone's going to love something different, and everyone's going to hate something different. And if you follow all of their feedback, your essay is going to look something like this. And I guarantee you this is not what the admissions committee had in mind when they thought of the perfect essay. So what I suggest Choose a couple of people that you really trust, maybe alumni or current students that you've worked with or that know you well, and ask them for feedback. Then think critically about the feedback that they've given you. Make sure that you actually get essay edits that help you and don't turn into something like this.
