This is a YouTube video titled "Nominate Yourself to Take Credit for Your Success" created in November 2024. It features Ellen, a coach who shares advice on how women can advocate for themselves in their careers by nominating themselves for opportunities rather than waiting to be noticed. The content is motivational and instructional, focusing on career empowerment for women.
I've got bad news for you. If you're waiting to be noticed, you're never going to succeed. I'm Ellen and I've spent the last decade coaching women on how to take up more space in their lives and careers. In this series, I'm teaching you how to take more credit for your success. Instead of waiting for others to realize how awesome you are, you really need to start nominating yourself for the roles and opportunities that you want. Even if you don't feel 100% ready yet. Like a lot of women you might have been taught, just do your best, keep your head down, and let your results speak for themselves. But this isn't enough. If you're not nominating yourself, you're probably going to stay stuck. One is out there advocating for you. It's a great idea to keep a high performing employee in a role that they're killing it at, especially if they don't complain or express any need to grow. So even though you're not going to get every opportunity that you nominate yourself for, the simple act of doing it grants you greater visibility. It also positions you as someone who's confident, capable, and ready for new opportunities and challenges. And eventually one of those is going to work out. So go out there, nominate yourself, and take up the space that you deserve.
